😢😮😅 Yes friend. I had to have my left sunroof drain cleaned because it was blocked up. He had to even put the sunroof up for me. This is my first car I ever got with a sunroof that was down like that. This was deliberate. Someone did this deliberately to that car. Whoever got it they'd have a problem with it leak. It did a little bit on me but my interior is not that bad. I got a couple of minor stains to take out. I'm going to use a tide pen to do that. Now I find it's a lot better. It's even with the top of the metal it's supposed to be. Thank you. I wipe mine out with armor All lights to me armor All if you put it on it leaves a little bit of wax on the metal and it beads up. Thank you. I even use armor All on the sunroof seal itself. I cleaned the metal with it where it butts up against the metal. Then I wipe a clean with a clean cloth. Thank you. They're all different ways out there. I believe you can clean a sunroof.
Thank you for the tips! I just flushed my drainage tubes with a windshield washer fluid. It was not clogged but every time after rain the net is smelling bad.
There are inexpensive Sunroof Drain Cleaning Tools available from many places including Amazon. I run the tool down each drain on each of my sunroofs once a year which takes literally seconds for each drain. Moonroof or Panaramic roofs they all have drains and RUclips has the videos of using the tools.
what to do if the drain tubes are clogged and now sunroof *won't open, just makes a clicking sound when I try to use the glide, same with the tilt. Now, I can't get access to the drain holes on top. I don't care if sunroof is broken, but I do care about the clogging, which causes water on the inside of my windshield overnight, and sometimes water spill into cabin from the pillar area. Thank you for your response.
Sadly, if it’s making a clicking noise but not opening or closing, it could be a broken cable or a bad motor. I just today had to buy a new motor for my 2014 tundra and believe me, they are not cheap! Good luck!
Can I pour vinegar down mine to kill any mold that it caused? My car is dry now, it happened over a month ago but I still have some water spots on my headliner, I don’t see mold but it smells like it. Not sure where it is though
Best solution is to buy a car without sunroof. It's troubles free and you will have more headroom. I had 2 cars with this stupid invention and I had nothing but troubles. No more in my cars in the future. It's also safer to have a metal roof. The glass is easy to break.
Nicer things comes with responsibilities all it took was one day driving in a car with a sunroof on summer day/night and every whip I bought since has a sunroof! Having no sunroof is like being inside the house and not opening the blinds
@@bluehunnids887 When you see this video: ruclips.net/video/vs9FRY8TzSE/видео.html can you please tell me what happened to the blinds? Is it safe? Speaking of options(extras) I have put over 1 000 000 kms( 620 000+ miles) on the vehicles I've driven and having an Air Conditioner in the car wouldn't even made me open the windows. Been a driver I care the most about safety. This is my top priority(that's why I drive Volvo)! Second priority is my comfort. Super important for this are the seats! And again, that's why I drive Volvo. Second for my comfort comes Air Conditioner. 3rd is the cruise control... and of course last but not least important is the music. Been alone in the car is a bonus for my comfort. If I open the sunroof the heat, the rain, the cold, the humidity etc. will destroy my comfort. Let's not forget the noise from wind, traffic etc.

The advise of not to use compressed air is excellent. Thanks.
yup, compressed air can blowout the rubber tubes and make the problem much much worse/permanent

What about the rear drains? Are there rear drains on all Toyotas?

I used plastic grass Strimmer / weed whacker line as I had some in the garage.
@@peterwilliams5597 Good idea.
OK then if it's blocked what should you do? Thanks for the video!
Make a appointment for a very expensive repair.Bottom line don't get a sunroof.
mechanical (thin flexible fiberglass stick or bike brake wire), pressure (via soft air compressor) or chemical (pipe cleaner) cleaning.
Weed wacker line gently feed it through till it pops out under the sill
@@antpart7998 ok weed whacker line. that's a great suggestion!
I have a 2008 Toyota Camry hybrid and can't find where the water is supposed to come out. Anybody know?
why not tell us how to unclog the drain if not with compressed air? that would have been helpful.

temporary fix - put caulk or guirella tape on the sun roof edges so water does not go down from there

How about a little bleach with water will that work?

Use Google and wear a personal floatation device.
How do you deal with the back drains on a 5th gen 4runner? THanky ou.
What about 2011-2020 Toyota Sienna with the duel sunroof?

I threw liquid oxiclean 3 in 1 deep clean down mine. Don't get on me too bad. 🥴
Lol as long as it worked :)
Does it work?
@@zohaibsaleem4084 Yes, but the best solution is the dual Drano. That clears it up just like a clogged sink.
@@JessSkubiyou just pour it in and leave it or do you have to pour water after ??
@@dpolanco96 Just use the dual Drano only. It unclogs it and the smell goes away.
I use liquid plumber myself
I was thinking this. But only sand particles and dust should be up there anyway
You should first show people how to clean that filthy nasty sunroof track. It’s disgraceful looking.

If you fixed the clog, chances are your vinegar will go directly to the ground, and not to the mold and water spots inside the car ;-)
