Check your barrel lock up could be responsible for inconsistent grouping last year I had tac4.25 non-ported model with a shitty lock up and I was all over the place with my groupings totally inconsistent. I replaced that with the 4.25 Pro ported lock up is night and day better much better groupings you shouldn’t be able to move that barrel at all when it’s locked up, I don’t think Bull is paying as good attention as their competition guns other than that I love the ported version. It’s what I could afford. Good luck with yours John.
Hey Roger I watched this video again and I received an back in stock email from BUL Armory for the TAC PRO 5" immediately went to their website and purchased one shipping soon bruh... 😎
@@briangontarski I'm quite impressed man, I said to myself what the hell and decided to get the Prodigy comp 5" also. What do you think about that one??? 😎
ive got a love/hate with Bul! got a 3.25 to carry, WILL NOT CARRY IT because you never know when the red dot is gonna fall off!! I had it V6 ported, no help, im on my fourth piece of crap plate, (the fifth is on the way). the solution is to buy one of their new plate designed guns. I thought it was me, do i work for a gun shop, mount MANY red dots, with no issues (other than Holosun issues! ) I only wish their guns were available!
Send it to Dave at DSC Gunworks. He can DPO cut the 3.25 ULs...so you can run any Dawson Precision staccato plate you want, with backup irons. He's the best 2011 smith in the biz...and turnaround time is usually very reasonable. On another note, I've had four separate Bul 3.25ULs, three of them being the comped versions. I EDCd my first one with the stock plate and a Holosun 507K for more than 3 years and put about 4,000 rounds through it and didn't have my optic come off or lose zero one time. That sucks that you're having such issues with yours!!! Dave can fix it for way less than buying the new version with their optic cut... Whenever those start showing in stock.
@@ThePotandVineCo. Yes sir, I've seen it and it's very nice. But that isn't going to help out anyone having issues with gen 1 or Gen 2 Bul 3.25ULs with optic plate integrity issues unfortunately. Mine has been great, and I have thousands of rounds through it with zero POI shift, etc. But many others haven't been so lucky unfortunately. But there is a solution for those folks, DSC Gun works.
Looking at a couple other reviews for the gun it looks like you may have got one with a barrel that slipped through that shouldn’t have. I have no doubt Bul Armory will make it right. Still ordering mine as soon as they drop.
Roger , did Bul Armory get back to you in regards to accuracy issue ? and if so will this issue be corrected for further production sales ? I would not want to buy a 2500 dollar gun with a 7 inch grouping at 25 yards
Looks like it was just a one off issue with my barrel. Other people have been filming their reviews with no issues. Bul is taking care of it by inspecting the barrel and either correcting the burr or fitting a new barrel. We will make a part two video showing the accuracy and also testing velocity and showing recoil with different grains of ammunition.
On the radar, can't wait to own this exact model. Seems like a one off barrel issue. Everything I have ever seen regarding Bul has been positive and people raving about the quality.
For sure same here. This is my first Bul out of several to have an issue. I’m sure it’s a one off issue and we’ll get it back out on the range for an update video.
I almost don't want to see any content on Bul Armory stuff from anyone until the stuff is available to buy... the 10 people that actually have been able to find stock always tend to show up to say that "they" got one... honestly, there is stuff going on over there that may be affecting production, but I can't help but feel teased in my first world problem. Lol... people just lining up to give them money, aaaaaaand out of stock... again.
not gonna lie man...like your old format reviews...the editing, cutting from your desk or whatnot to outdoor drills, etc... regardless, thanks for the content.
I appreciate that. Filming this way allows us to get more videos done. Going back and forth between the studio and range just made the production process two to three times longer.
It looks like the bending of the table might be causing it to shoot high. Maybe put the stand to the edge of the table and use a chair instead of leaning on a plastic table. It looks like the tisas is actually sitting a little flatter in the rest. The bul looks like its slightly pointed upwards
I adjust the bench rest to line the gun up with target. Even if it was higher the grouping should still be there. We have a new barrel coming which should solve the problem. We did find burrs with a micro camera we put inside the barrel
Is this available to order? I've seen a couple of reviews for this gun but don't know where to try finding it. Unless I"m on another "Bul" armory site this isn't up yet.
@@dominickcentineo6990 my opinion is yes , it’s light and shoots flat, the comp eats the carbon and it doesn’t fog up my x300. Slap on it a good optic and your set
Hey oh! Those Bul ported offerings look great glad you liked it. Hope the figure out that scrapping issue and you can get it to group. Guessing you haven't had this issue with any monsoon or vulcan services before?
Thanks! Bul took a look at the video footage and they think it is a small burr as well. Also, correct. In my other videos on ported guns, I show groupings at both distances with no issues. That’s what they think that there’s probably a burr in the barrel.
Is that Super Vel ammo "plated". If so, it's not a true metal jacket and will cause the shearing effect described in your video. This topic seems to be gaining momentum now that more folks are buying ported barrels. Lots of ported barrels getting fouled up by plated bullets.
I would group these pistols with decent self defense ammo whenever I have issues with a pistol grouping at 25yds ill go to some hst or Speer gold dot to completely rule out ammo but that's crazy with the deposits in the barrel
I'm hoping to get my first 2011 pistol soon and was strongly leaning toward the Bul Armory. However, having seen this grouping issue and reading that they only have a one year warrantee, I'm thinking I will widen my options. Am I reading too much in to this?
Very impressive! Question - which is a better overall shooting experience, this or the Atlas Apollo? I want to get a premium ported 2011 to compete with my STI DVC P. Love the content!
You earned a new subscriber. I like your style. You explain things in a soothing way. I like the fact you are factual. Also, I've become a huge fan of Bul Armory in the past few months. Also love the Holosun 507 Comp, in green. I'm caught between the 2024 5" TAC PRO and the new Blaze. I'm leaning towards the Blaze. I was sold on the TAC PRO in 5", but the Blaze might be a better bet. Not sold on porting just yet. I do believe it works. But mainly shorter distances. Also my concern is the lack of quality in factory ammo. Affordable brand as well as more costly ammo manufacturers. Softer, cheaper leads. "Plated" FMJ... The short cornering of quality for increased profit can impact my ports more than the quality of the best ported barrel available. After watching your video, I'm definitely thinking Blaze is better for me. I'd love to see you get your hands on one & do a video! Any initial thoughts of the new Blaze?
@@RogerBarrera thanks for the reply. What would you say is the best flattest 2011 right under the XC price? It's really hard to find the right one without shooting them all to know lol
Man, those are pretty disappointing groups at 25y. I currently carry the previous version sas ii tac 5" and it'll print 1" groups at 25y all day. Infact it just crossed the 6k rnd mark on my last range session, so I decided to reconfirm my zero, and it threw down 1" 5 rnd groups with HST 124gr, federal AE 124gr, and blazer brass 124gr (with a POI shift for each of course). I'm not the best 25y b8 shooter ever, but I spend at least 50-100 rnds practicing them every range session, so if the ported version can only manage 6" groups, that would be a no go for me. Sucks b/c I was pretty sweet on this thing.
My opinion….I don’t think it’s the porting…I think bul might be making the barrel too tight or it’s ammo issues=match the ammo with the gun…I typically get 3” groups at 25 yards from a bench with hand loads or some factory that I’ve found works best…if I saw lead coming out of the barrel I’d be worried one would get stuck in the barrel and a second shot=gun blows up…definitely wouldn’t be running speed drills out of it/immediately send it back
I am on the waiting list for the new 2024 up dated 5 inch pro tac model , really like what they up dated on this all black gun , but not like the accuracy of this gun ?
@@davidau112709 I’m wearing a large. I’m 5’8” 200, they fit the same as T-shirts. If you want it to be a little baggy, get one size up from your normal T-shirt.
I’ve got a 10 hole ported Glock 19 that I managed to group at about 3 inches at 25 yards rested. Thats a shorter barrel and much less nice trigger too. Very concerning grouping with this gun
Rodger, I think the 25-yard mark is cursed 😂 good shooting, though. Would love to see u do a video on the glock store glock 19 with the speed rail slide 😎
I definitely think you need to try some different ammo. Thinly plated ammo isn't reliable in some ported or comped barrels. Blazer brass specifically states on their box not to use with ported or comped firearms.
Possibly, Bul took a look at the footage and said they think it’s definitely a burr. They’re gonna take a look so we can get it back on the range for testing.
Still sharp edges that have to be broken by lapping. Virtually no one seems to know this in the industry. A burr will eventually be removed by shooting. The crisp edges of the ports wheatear milled oor edm never go away. They have to be further finished for true accuracy. KnifeMaker
Looks like you’re using plated ammo. The only downside with these ported barrels. You really need to watch the ammunition. I’m debating on the EDC pro. But I have S&B and CCI in my safe. I would need to buy a third option to use ported barrels. CCI even states on their box not to use on ported guns.
How much does the standard barrel cost ? These new v8 Port jobs aren't that tested yet . Bore camera that barrel asap . It is very fast though, nice work.❤ I think those ports are losing too much velocity, test with your Chrono next time you come out see what you get. Its not stabilizing in flight.
And to be fair, groups tend to open up when you port a barrel. No company is immune to this. But they do make an un-ported, non-“Pro” version that I will be getting. Best looking 2011 out there!
If porting is done right it doesn't effect accuracy. As long as gas pressure is applied equally on the bullet, there will not be an effect on accuracy. A barrel that is poorly comped will most defiantly effect accuracy.
I still think it's a ammunition issue with those remanufactured rounds. Ported barrels are very sensitive to rounds especially if they are plated and are not truly jacketed. Try a different type of ammunition and ill almost bet you'll get the accuracy you are expecting.
We have part two coming up. We tried factory new different brand ammunition, and still got the same results. I put a micro camera down the barrel and we could clearly see some small burrs. New barrel should be coming soon for part 2.
AWwwwwwwww damn Roger just when I made up my mind on a affordable project pistol you review this pistol Aww damn! What is the MSRP on it? I think I saw around $1800? 😎
The BUL EDC that comes out later this year is 1850 and the EDC PRO is 2050 I believe. But after watching this if all there ported guns are opening up that bad at 25 I’m most likely just gonna go for the standard EDC instead of the pro version
What's the difference between the Tac Pro 5" and the Tac 5"? I see both on their site and they look the exact same, lol. EDIT: Found them. I put them side-by-side in different tabs (they really should have a compare feature on the website, lol) and found the following differences: 1. Sights: The "Tac 5" has a serrated rear and fiber optic front sight, whereas the "Tac Pro 5" has serrated black front and rear sights. That's weird, I would think it would be the reverse (the standard model having the blacked-out sights, and the "Pro" model having the fiber optic front sight), but that's just me and I'm weird. Lol. 2. Barrel/slide: The "Tac 5" has the same slide cutouts for the V8 porting, but has no ports in the actual barrel, whereas the Tac Pro obviously has the cutouts AND the V8 porting. Why would they have the cutouts on the non-ported gun if they're not gonna port that model? That's just lazy manufacturing, lol. For mass-production guns like Bul Armory, they should have separate tooling that doesn't cut the slide for the non-ported model.
For sure, things happen. I have a preproduction sample and it probably just got missed in the QC process. BUL will get it squared away and we will bring it back out on the range.
I appreciate your transparency in your videos with the good and bad. I'm sure they will get it fixed up. I also appreciate BUL for not hand picking guns even when they know they'll be in the public spotlight.
I follow you but everytime RUclips does it’s algorithm and I watch you stuff I just want to buy your gear not what you’re showing. lol do you sell the holder for Zeroing your hand gun?
I would think of a better location. You were having a lot of ricochets off the rocks. Personally I would stop shooting that pistol immediately until corrected. The gun is creating an obstruction in the barrel.
Great Vid 👍🏾 / I have seen so RUclipsrs come up with these idiotic test with flawed hypothesis and they’re trying to prove or disprove their suspicions or thoughts by using none identical materials such as poor ammo, or ammo that is not an apples to apples comparison so to say without a control to compare their findings against. Get the gun off the mag at 25, it's hopping off the mag under recoil and killing your accuracy, try resting it on the rail, dust cover, light, etc only
Soon as someone says free I have to take the review with a grain of salt. Care to elaborate? Marco is pretty knowledgeable as he’s in the top 20 for ranked shooters in USPSA. He also works in manufacturing as a consultant. I think he brings a lot to the channel especially from the technical/comp side of things.
I feel the same way. You can tell too by the way that Marco was talking and I’ve never seen anything. This is my first video by these guys. Mark basically said eh it’s ok it’s a 1911. I hate how gun tubers I always talk this stuff up and then they act like they’re not gonna be in league with the manufacturer. The dot doesn't leave the window with a Glock 34. No doubt the Tac Pro 5 is a much better shooting gun than a Glock. Im just saying the dot not leaving the window is nothing special.
It’s definitely something I want in a handgun. I’ve got other guns where the recoil def has the dot leave my line of sight. It comes right back to zero with good grip and fundamentals but with this gun I notice a lot less recoil with the ports and it makes it much easier to track the dot. Especially when shooting through the iPhone camera to give you the POV. It’s a lot more difficult than people think to get that angle.
@@RogerBarrera Yes sir. Im sure getting it through an iphone is difficult. I was just talking about shooting the gun. With prober connection to the gun keeping the dot in the window with any full size handgun with a Holosun 507 comp or SRO in 9mm shouldn't be a problem.
Too many what ifs, next time dont publish the video until you find the actual problem. Certainly not helping Bul sell pistols. Super fast Bill Drills mean zip if you cant hit C Zone at 25. I love your videos but this one is a fail ...
I appreciate the feedback, however we follow a filming schedule. We’ll do a part 2 when the gun is fixed. I disagree that this is a fail. We film our videos with transparency and this is a great example of that. It’s not my job to sell the Bul guns. I take the guns out and share my experience with them on the range. You may not agree but I’m not going to spend 5-6 hours filming on the range to wait another couple of weeks for the barrel issue to be fixed in order to publish our experience on the range. Once we get the issue resolved we’ll produce another video on that. I think one might also argue that a little more QC should have been done before sending a gun out for review. 🤷🏻♂️

Hear them frequently on these and 1911 Syndicate videos
is that what that sound is?? I thought it had something to do with shooting in the desert lol
XC can do 1-2” at 25 all day. This is one of the reasons I’m glad I went with it over grabbing a P or XL and porting it.

ive got a love/hate with Bul! got a 3.25 to carry, WILL NOT CARRY IT because you never know when the red dot is gonna fall off!! I had it V6 ported, no help, im on my fourth piece of crap plate, (the fifth is on the way). the solution is to buy one of their new plate designed guns. I thought it was me, do i work for a gun shop, mount MANY red dots, with no issues (other than Holosun issues! )
I only wish their guns were available!
You should see the patented mounting plate that BUL has for the new 2024 models. It has unreal support now with that integrated post.
Agreed looking forward to getting this back out on the range. Thank you for taking the time to check out the video.
Dude, where are you shooting? I need to upgrade myself from clark county shooting range.
@@RogerBarrera Thanks for up date great to hear the issue is going to be resloved
Looking forward to the video as I was lucky enough to pick one up before it was sold out, hopefully yours is the only one with that issue.
A 1.48 bill drill. Fuck ya man. Dope. Im a solid second slower still. Training as much as I can afford to get better though.
Got my Tac 5 V12 ported by SW Precision and it choots flat AF. My Tac Pro 4.25 is bananas too.
Lol... people just lining up to give them money, aaaaaaand out of stock... again.
"6 inches is pretty big." Marco 13:46
I keep saying this to my wife but she just rolls her eyes...
Well considering 90% of dudes are out here walking around with 5 inches or less I’m happy to have 6” in my pants with me everyday 😂😂😂 👍🏼
not gonna lie man...like your old format reviews...the editing, cutting from your desk or whatnot to outdoor drills, etc... regardless, thanks for the content.
I appreciate that. Filming this way allows us to get more videos done. Going back and forth between the studio and range just made the production process two to three times longer.
Appreciate ya still watching 👍🏼👊🏻
Still carrying my sas II 4.25 comp
Love it, although my grip has faded away by now to no texture
How do you like the sas ii 4.25 comp? Can it play both rolls effectively as a competition/duty pistol?
@@dominickcentineo6990 my opinion is yes , it’s light and shoots flat, the comp eats the carbon and it doesn’t fog up my x300. Slap on it a good optic and your set
For that cast that pistol, there should not be any excuse for parts not being fully deburr. The mark on the inside of the barrel will affect accuracy.
Nice review and well done on that Bill Drill! I like the clean looks on this pistol w/the integrated comp & the full length rail! 👍👍
Thanks man! Yeah this thing is a smooth shooter for sure!
She's definitely a looker.
This is the way!
At least for me, this has been at the top of my list for a while.
Yeah man digging the gun for sure.
Hey Rog, I am looking for a Level 2 Holster in Multicam for a TAC PRO 5... Ideally Safariland, but looking for some input.
Hope to see a follow up after
Bul Armory, looks at it. Thanks
I’m sure ours was a one off. A new barrel has been installed and we are waiting for the gun to get back to us this week so we can take it back out.
@@RogerBarrera I will look forward to seeing that. Thank you.

hows the recoil without tactical light?
Any plans to make aAIWB for 4.25 and 5 Tac Pro’s. Maybe even with the Holosun PID HC light
We do under the “Other 2011” section on our website. PID fits our TLR1 holster perfectly
What are your thoughts on the sas ii 4.25 comp? Is it comparable to this or is this way better?
This feels a lot smoother for sure. Both are still great options.
Hi! Do you use the same screws that come with the holosun 507 comp to mount it?
I believe so
You earned a new subscriber.
Thank you for the video! God bless! Be safe! 🤙🪖👮🙏🇺🇸
Same to you! Thanks for watching.
How do you get on their wait list for this?
I’m not seeing it as an option on the website
You can’t
get the new UL Pro and compare the recoil with this model! It has only 6 ports.
I know you're not done with the reviews because of the barrel issue, but would you say this is better or on par with a Staccato XC?
Very similar to the XC at a great price. Not as flat though.
@@RogerBarrera thanks for the reply. What would you say is the best flattest 2011 right under the XC price? It's really hard to find the right one without shooting them all to know lol
If only they were available for purchase.
I mean like EVER!!!
@rogerbarrera y'all going to make holsters specifically for this and the 4.25 models?
Yes they fit our 2011s in 4.25 and 5” on the site
Yeah, we’ll be doing part 2 when the gun comes back from Bul with a fixed or new barrel. Should be soon hopefully. Thanks for watching.
@@RogerBarrera awesome, I'll be looking forward to seeing the result!

Haha agreed! 25 yards is no bueno haha. I’ll have to check out the g19 speed rail. Haven’t heard of it yet.
EDM vs Drilling... no burrs!
Still sharp edges that have to be broken by lapping. Virtually no one seems to know this in the industry. A burr will eventually be removed by shooting. The crisp edges of the ports wheatear milled oor edm never go away. They have to be further finished for true accuracy.
KnifeMaker
Nice video Rodjer. Was wondering how this would comparr to a Grandpower
Yes we have a follow up video on this also.

Did Bul ever get back to you about this barrel issue? I kinda want to know before making this purchase.
Yep, just waiting on the new barrel
This is why I want the un-ported version
And to be fair, groups tend to open up when you port a barrel. No company is immune to this. But they do make an un-ported, non-“Pro” version that I will be getting. Best looking 2011 out there!
If porting is done right it doesn't effect accuracy. As long as gas pressure is applied equally on the bullet, there will not be an effect on accuracy. A barrel that is poorly comped will most defiantly effect accuracy.
Yeah that’s kinda what we were getting at in the video and why we think there is probably a burr in the barrel at one of the ports.
@@RogerBarrera Yes sir. I made that comment before finishing the video. Thank you for the reply.

@@Copenhagen848 lm going to order as soon as they are back in stock. I found out that they offer a discount for veterans which is great
I still think it's a ammunition issue with those remanufactured rounds.

What's the difference between the Tac Pro 5" and the Tac 5"? I see both on their site and they look the exact same, lol.
EDIT: Found them. I put them side-by-side in different tabs (they really should have a compare feature on the website, lol) and found the following differences:
I’m all about it until I get those groupings at only 25 yards. Please do a follow up if possible
Yep! Follow up video we’ll be coming for sure!
With a threaded barrel it would be perfect.
Funny Pew-Wee just shoot the same gun the video before this on. and no problem with his groups with 115 gr
For sure, things happen. I have a preproduction sample and it probably just got missed in the QC process. BUL will get it squared away and we will bring it back out on the range.

Get the gun off the mag at 25, it's hopping off the mag under recoil and killing your accuracy, try resting it on the rail, dust cover, light, etc only

@@johnmacias01 no I don’t think so. I’ve never seen one video by these guys and that’s the first thing I thought of. I think you’re just fans.
boo ports. comps look way better/cooler, comps when pre treated clean up super easy and keep the rest of your gun cleanm especially the top of your light and the end of the barrel and around the slide by the muzzle end doesnt turn black. after enough rounds ports make guns looks so dirty. the only way to avoid this is not have ports on the barrel and the slide. -- of which the only solution I can think of is an island barrel. island barrel ports are more like little comp openings further back than ports. porting really isnt a good solution when you can comp or island barrel port and they are way cooler and keep your gun clean not make it dirtier. we def need to see more island barrels. more 2011 manufacturers need to do island barrel. legion and hayes do thats it I think, and old stis. Someone really needs to step up for glock too. Zev hypercomp is ugly and sucks. trinity nevada slides don't even work. God I wish I could have my ideas developed by a machinist who could do what I could design. I feel like gun engineers/manufacturers are very unintelligent. If a smart person would actually start developing stuff it would be awesome.
Dont get ported guns. This is what they all do
That gun would have grouped significantly better, with better ammo. That ammo was dog water.
And yet for part two we tried factory new stuff from different manufacturers and still got the same results. Maybe it’s the visible burr issue 🤷🏻♂️
