I ordered my 5th Bul Armory pistol this week, the 5" pro. By mistake I left part of my FFL's email out. I called and left a message and also sent an email. I had a return call from two people the same day and they fixed my mistake. To my surprise i received a follow up call the next day to make sure i was satisfied with their customer service! Pretty cool by BUL to accept and investigate problems with their guns, and then help to educate people about it. I would've just thought that any normal FMJ bullet has a jacket, and not some garbage plating that can spin itself to death. You learn something new every day...
Thanks for doing this update for all of us! Now I'm curious and will have to start reading my ammo boxes. BTW, I'm running that same optic on a Shadow Systems pistol and I'm loving it! 👍👍
For sure man! We always like to be transparent in our videos and we appreciate you taking the time to check them out. I think this is a lot of fun for the price. Just make sure to get true jacketed FMJ ammo and stock up on their mags! It’s a fast, flat and accurate shooter!
Interesting for sure. I’ve got several ported barrels (G17/G19 clones) Other than more carbon buildup they have always been very accurate. I understand it’s a very different platform but.. considering the barrels were inexpensive (Aim surplus) the performance has been exceptional. Especially considering the price.
Learn something new. Shot lots of Blazer through my factory ported M&P, PMM Comp, Norsso P365XL 2 slot port, Norsso P320 4-port, have yet to experience any accuracy issues. On my G17 10-port barrel, I did notice getting peppered in an indoor range but not outdoors. May need to test the G17 10-port again with Magtech or S&B. 🤔 Great info though…great video.
Same for me with both Norsso ported and Magna ported barrels I have never had an issue and Blazer Brass is my go to for the range. Me thinks Bul might be spewing a little bit of Bull here..........JMO
Thanks for the update! Glad to hear Bul was so easy to work with for you. I've put about 550 rounds through mine with Blazer 115, which is apparently plated. So far... I haven't noticed any leading or unusual fowling yet. How many rounds had you shot when you started seeing the lead buildup originally? Love the videos and updates, I'll have my review up soon as well. Unbelievable value from this one, seriously!
Would love to see a comparison of plated vs jacketed ammo and a defense ammo examining the amount of fragments that come out of the ports. The concern being if I use a gun with ports for edc and have to shoot at retention will I be hurt by bullet fragments coming out of the ports in my gun. Would be curious to see if there is a difference between the different types of ammo (plated vs jacketed) and also some defensive hollow points.
I had the exact same issue with my 2024 Bul Tac Pro 5 inch. Weird because my previous Tac Pro 4.25 (previous year model) doesn't have that issue shooting Blazer. I sent my barrel back with the same issues you experienced and they told me the exact same thing. Now I have 3k rounds of 124gr Blazer I got for my Bul that now I can't use with it...
Damn Roger, good info bruh, fist time hearing such huh, I don't recall seeing that info on a box of ammo. I found S&B ammo to be trash I don't buy anymore. Once again great job Roger , Marco! 😎
Yeah it must be new warning label cuz if I’m not mistaken none of the boxes I have say not to use in ported guns but I will have to dig it out the safe and look on some of the boxes.
if youve got the eye, you can usually tell. otherwise you need to pull a bullet. a jacketed bullet has an opening , either the base is open or as a HP. plated are TMJ, copper covers 100% of the surface. with new ammo in the box typically plated is called out as a TMJ, and jacketed are called FMJ.
Are ported and/or comped barrels just less accurate in general? Specifically when the cut is in the barrel (as opposed to designs like the p365 comp or Staccato XC). The other 5" non ported guns on this channel seem to stack groups at 25 w/ all holes touching.
Will a sonic cleaner such as the Hornady loc n load clean the copper and lead out of the barrel? Maybe someone in the herd has experience with this equipment.
I’m sorry, but at 25 yards and benched to boot … those groups are not good at all especially with a ported barrel ., and unless you’re having a really bad day , I doubt it’s you . I still think it’s a barrel issue. Put some match ammo through it to prove it out
Hmmm... lemme see now.... BULLSHIT!!!! Its not the barrel??? Of course its the barrel!!! They simply wont admit that the porting is the cause. They would have been credible to say.. OK the plated bullets are a no go in this gun.. and we will slap a warning label on the gun and box NOT to shoot PLATED bullets. I can understand that the plated bullets are softer.. and when the bullet passes by the port, the base is deformed. Simply shoot the gun with a piece of cardboard over the top of the ports and see how big of a particle is being torn off/dislodged by the ports. Or better yet.. shoot into something soft and examine the base of the bullet. That will tell you everything. BULL..Don't treat us like morons! OWN your issues.. lots more respect EARNED that way. Now is this a problem?? No.. i dont think so.. IF you warn the potential buyer that this firearm is not suited for plated bullets. It will shoot jacketed ammo fine.. and it shows that. For the life of me i dont understand why this barrel had to go all the way back to Israel to understand this. wow.. What they should have done is to UPSELL.. and provide an un-ported barrel as well... in the box. I'd happily pay for that. That would give me the option. Seems like a real nice pistol.. this was a glowing review specifically i t o the staggering handling.

Wow never would've guessed it was the ammo being plated .Good information to know on this gun.
Awesome! I’m glad they took care of the problem right away. Sounds like they have a good customer service. Thanks for this video Roger.
Great video as always!! Great job 👏 also what bench rest your using?
Thanks! It’s the CTK Precision rest.
General question what defensive rounds would be the recommendation for ported firearms? Any suggestions.

Yeah man! 507 comp is legit!
Thanks Roger for this video , I will now buy this gun, I appreciate your honest reviews

Can 147 gr hollow points work in the pistol?

Yeah, I've heard this about Blazer before. I've heard multiple people say that plated ammo does that through comped and ported pistols.

Which reticle are you running on the 507 comp? So many options I can't decide!
What brands of ammo are plated?
Good video and great update on the CS from Bul. Yeah plating vs FMJ (blazer says its fmj too) is odd but good to know that can be an issue.

Did anyone notice the SD and ED were twice the number on the ported barell vs. non ported? Any thoughts on that???
Where can I purchase a pistol rest like yours?
Ammo company’s using shitty plated projectiles are the problem.
Is there a way to visually tell the difference between plated and jacketed ammo if you don’t have the original box?
if youve got the eye, you can usually tell. otherwise you need to pull a bullet. a jacketed bullet has an opening , either the base is open or as a HP. plated are TMJ, copper covers 100% of the surface. with new ammo in the box typically plated is called out as a TMJ, and jacketed are called FMJ.
@leftyo9589 I think the blazer ammo he mentioned in the video does say FMJ but are plated .. apparently.
@@se9882 right, that's my confusion. And I would've thought TMJ is also jacketed?

Thx fo the follow up video
Ported vs Compensated - There are more pros on compensated guns over ported guns.
Thanks Rog, what do you think Frangible would do
Great info. Thanks!
Amazing video. You convinced me not to add that to my collection. Ty
Yo Roger! What super vel ammo is fully jacketed? You were shooting super vel in the first video if I’m not mistaken?
As of August I believe everything from SuperVel is fully jacketed now
@ thanks for the response Roger 🤘🏻
Will a sonic cleaner such as the Hornady loc n load clean the copper and lead out of the barrel? Maybe someone in the herd has experience with this equipment.
Good on Bul Armory
Have you tried heavier ammo, as well?
So does it have the same effect on compensators?
what are the example of plated ammo ?
Very fast OVNI at 6:00.
When the Atlas EOS had worse grouping and people are throwing a fit. Hate it cause you don't have it lol.
Does anyone know if Bul or anyone else makes a magwell for the Axe Hatchet? Great gun but a magwell would be tits.
Bul armory sells them
@@Sickwitit_Tactical Thanks, I didn't see them on the website. I'll try contacting them

Anyone know what's a good defense ammo that is true jacketed ammo?
What app is that?
good info
Shitcan that barrel. Manufacturer should a make a better barrel
lol. After it went back to the factory and it’s still shooting gapping groups?!?! Sorry but it’s a hard pass for me on this gun.
The Tomahawk is a cheap cheat code.
I got the fs it's crazy. 3rd bul pretty much done for life as far a pistol purchases 😅
S&b looking like trash.... Never tried it out that far before. Surprised it was worse than magtech. Thought it would have been better. Thanks
