Wish there was a mission type setting up auto turrets or something to clear out caves. An entirely swarm oriented mission type. I like the thought of dwarves clearing out an especially dangerous cave with a mobile firearm platform. Like doretta but you stand on top with a couple heavy weapons, needing to be rearmed or repaired. By special resupplies, not oil shale. and it’s entirely oriented on clearing swathes of bugs. Then getting dottys mean sister back into the crate in a final escort.
i actually thought a new mission type similar to that kind of idea. "Cargo Transport" you'd actually drive something similar to the drilldozer, and MAYBE you'd have limited resupplies on the transport.
Sounds rather similar to my idea of a "Raid" type mission where to need to kill a Glyphid queen to retake back the sector so DRg can continue operations (when dreads finish cooking they come out as something that forces operations to be shut down in the area for a month). You have to progress through a linear cave system consisting of 2-4 large rooms that have 1 guaranteed swarm each, with a final room that has a ginormous glyphid queen that you can only damage with super high caliber rounds fired by (rather flimsy) heavy turrets mission control sends down. Aka mission control sends down a turret, you defend it until it fires, it breaks itself from recoil, another one is sent, rinse and repeat a few times, glyphid queen is dead, go home.
Tipp: Place a resupply pod on the radial pulse gun platform, you can safely trigger it without being hit by it. No need for platforms and the resup can also cover you from the heavy machine gun.
Another tip: If you're unable to place a supply pod onto the auth pad, shoot a platform onto it first, then call the supply pod on top of the platform. That's what I had to do. I think they patched out being able to call it onto the pad directly.
or just call molly to place it on the top to avoid getting hit by the pulse gun platform. it works all the time and doesn't need to call resupply to place on those pads
I highly recommend instead of the ditch method, go for a ridge method. Carve out a ring shape inside the walls surrounding the tower at a safe height, then drill through the thin wall to create windows. Basically over-glorified arrowslits similar to the ones built on medieval castles. All teammates should hide and peek from there except driller and gunner who should be on the battlefield opening the tanks. There should also be a designated escape person with an escape room / route. Edit- Love the content can't wait for more!
I second the ridge method. The ditch has the added problem of making it harder to escape the pulse gun and drones when somebody goes down and a dwarf gets the bright idea to res from the ditch.
Best video on the subject. But let me help you with that corporate anouncement. In so many words it would state, 1. The Omen tower initiative was a total success at reducing risk in Hoxxes V. (The reality is, the blasted things NEVER engage against bugs!) 2. They've been SO successful, in fact, that to make sure we dont endanger indiginous species, we are decommissioning all towers, because DRG deeply cares about natural ecology as well as its employees. 3. Decomissioning is a simple and safe proceedure, but if, due to operator error, the tower does engage operators, follow standard safety proceedure, and all will be well. Deep Rock Galactic thanks you for your service! Rule #1 of corporate bullshit is, never admit error, never apologize!

Awesome this is definitely the main machine event I see new players struggle with. One key mistake you didn't address, I see many players who seem to think they have to permanently stand on the unlock pads to keep them open. It's often vital to move off after unlocked. I even thought this the first time I played it, and see others do it too. I didn't know the opposite is always the bottom one. That's super useful.
Oh true true, that does become a problem sometimes. Or even when some players will refuse to get off and end up in more danger trying to get it open again asap.

Platforms and ziplines aren't the only things that can let you stay elevated over the purple beams and use the pads. The almighty resupply pod, set up directly next to the pad, allows you to stand on its side over the pad to use it as well, allowing even the Driller and Scout to easily use the same strategy.
The drones on solo missions should deploy every six seconds in from the last one if all were killed and none were out and deploy every nine seconds regardless if any are killed or not. But on multiplayer mode missions, they are as they are now, because the drones will only go after one target unless you have the drilldozer, hacking pod, Steve, hacked patrol bot, engineer’s lure grenade or scout’s pheromone grenades!
Satchel Charges are the answer for everything. They can hit all the weakpoints on a large threat simultaniously, saving ammo and dealing massive damage at the cost of only one. They can hit all the vents on a Caretaker if thrown on top of it. They can hit all soft spots on Glyphid Hiveguards when blown up while they stand on it. And with Omens, they can hit all the cooling tanks on all three modules at the same time.

I have seen time and time again people (myself included, until recently) just waiting for the vents to open, not realising that you have to stand on the pads.
I definitely feel this way about it. It doesn't helps that if other players do the access platforms every time new players may never learn since they just see them open on their own if they don't notice.

(This will help keep him alive if there aren't natural perching spots) 2. When you drill your trenches if you can make sure that the trench doesn't require you to go onto an access pad to get to the other trenches. Use your explosives like sticky, plasma, cluster, and HE grenades since they will probably hit all 3 weakpoints of an omen module. (Most of these grenades are less effective against the 2 upper modules) 4. You can use Molly to stand on access pads or put a resupply pod too. My go-to strat is to order a resup pod right on top of the radial pulse gun's maintenance platform. Unlike engineer's pancakes, it doesn't break and basically trivializes it in my experience
This damn thing is quite possibly the hardest goddamn boss/event in the game. Period. It can fuck you over even on a haz 1 while fully maxed out, mostly due to the KAMIKAZE DRONES (WHY)
Something to note. Before the Omen Tower’s core infuser is activated, the pad repels bugs. Standing on the pad during a wave can prevent melee bugs from overwhelming you. Don’t raise the tower until you’re ready to fully activate it to fully take advantage of this.
You should go in depth on every machine event like Kursite Grinder, Overcharged Pickaxe Dispenser and Tritylite Shard. Also Management really needs to invest in some better equipment!

Edit after watching : Excellent video !!
Ayyy thank you!
My go-to strat is to order a resup pod right on top of the radial pulse gun's maintenance platform. Unlike engineer's pancakes, it doesn't break and basically trivializes it in my experience
Hey. It'a a usefull and fairly entertaining guide. Certainly one of the best I saw on RUclips! Great job!
This video was awesome, I learned so much, thank you!
Potentially a different fight you could also do one of these for is the Ommoran. That battle is quite the encounter.
I L O V E this channel. Keep making amazing content man.
I fear no glyphid. But that... thing... It scares me.
These guides are AMAZING!
Thanks for the tutorial lol. Ive seen missions wiped out by these things, they are not to be fucked with if at least half of your team isnt prepared
Definitely, it really helps when one or two of you know whats up
This is the best DRG channel
O man, this is a good OMEN! Really though, this vid is top tier.
i am giving this video like based on on the intro and this 1:09 epic part
This damn thing is quite possibly the hardest goddamn boss/event in the game. Period. It can fuck you over even on a haz 1 while fully maxed out, mostly due to the KAMIKAZE DRONES (WHY)
Something to note. Before the Omen Tower’s core infuser is activated, the pad repels bugs. Standing on the pad during a wave can prevent melee bugs from overwhelming you. Don’t raise the tower until you’re ready to fully activate it to fully take advantage of this.
Oh that's neat
fantastic guide man
I've been doing these all wrong. I learned so much!
That's me, noodle! You got our team wipe! I actually remember that one!
Love the atmosphere
You should go in depth on every machine event like Kursite Grinder, Overcharged Pickaxe Dispenser and Tritylite Shard.
Also Management really needs to invest in some better equipment!
I could probably fit those into a video together strategy-wise, the OMEN is unique in its complexity
@@siirvend Alright. If you don't Rock And Stone, You ain't coming home.
