hey, it's nice hearing your thinking, you're clearly a very intelligently beautiful person. i want to express my affirmation for your stance, very cool seeing you be rational and i like how you assess your situation without following the common line. i've wanted children for most my life, but recently i've realised that i haven't escaped my family's intergenerational trauma to the extent i expected to and i'm very afraid to bequeath my children with my shortcomings, it scares me so much that i'm pretty sure i will never have children, but it's a bit concerning that so many young people in the West willingly refuse reproduction, it should have lead to a gradual collapse of our society (as it has has in Japan, their social problems such as mass loneliness and so on are terrifying and possibly emblematic of our future), but thankfully we've had immigration to fix the demographics a little bit, i hope we will always have religious people to have kids for us to help raise. i would also counter your stance that being an auntie is strictly for childless women, i've had great help and care from my aunts that have multiple children, having children is really not a barrier to be a helpful family member. i urge you to consider adopting children, because motherhood is really very human and an important step to fulfillment, most childless elders i know regret not having that connection to anyone, that is really when you reflect on your relative loneliness. but of course i suspect you've heard all these counters countless times and ultimately it's your life, so make the best with it, i'm just another person online ;) thank you once again for sharing a sensitive opinion and sorry for rambling so much, your words left a big impression on me, good luck

Oh no, I didn't mean that being an auntie is exclusive to a child free woman, I meant more that I want to be a child free auntie 😃 thank you for your comment, I enjoyed reading it. I am sorry to hear about your generational trauma, I hope that you will be the one to put an end to it ❣️

Thank you so much for sharing this clip. I'm childfree due to circumstance (forever single it seems). But I think I clearly don't have a strong desire to have children because I would consider adoption or just other means of I do. The thing is, there's still this expectation of women wanting kids and get married. While I think both can be great, it is selfish to do it if you are only doing this to appease society. Unfortunately, I have this experience first hand due to some issues my mother had, so I can attest that having a child when you are not ready is extremely selfish due to the hurt the child will have. (I manage to work this out but it's not easy). I love seeing people being OK with being childfree, because too often, there is still the pressure of there being something lacking. You often feel you have to justify this.

Oh yea, my parents did the same thing. They formed a relationship because they ended up having a child (my brother) and instead of trying to form a good relationship with someone they truly loved, they married each other and me and my brother very often heard how both of us ruined their studies or lives, yikes

@@Claudiiwastaken mine was the married and had children because society expected them to. Definitely not good for the children. I'm not sure if it was also the case with you, but being the second child was even worse at times. And people who haven't experienced such regret from their parents can never understand the hurt it can have. Besides, should people suggest I'm selfish I'll point out that as someone who does not commit crime and pay taxes, I'm a model citizen who does contribute to society. Jeez, my tax is even paying for stuff that benefit others (Ie. Children) , not me. Almost the opposite of selfish

@Claudiiwastaken thanks. As I said, my situation has improved. But it really annoy me when people don't take this into account and just think everyone have a happy childhood that they should replicate for their child
