I find it quite disappointing that he breaks his word in the end, having promised to never torture a mortal, once he got the crown. Considering how lawful devils are canonically said to be. Truly a shame. Otherwise I had given it to him willingly. Aside from that, thanks for your effort with these vids 👍
@@MilkAndSugar16 he never said that. He said 'Not to dominate a mortal'. That's a striking difference. Besides what torture are we talking about? Lmao. His epilogue after a successful deal doesn't mention any torture
@@Claudiiwastaken It doesnt actually make a difference, since the outcome is the same. He promised not to leave the hells, yet after he got the crown, he declares he will do it. Thats actually a break of contract, something that is frowned upon by devils.
@@MilkAndSugar16 I disagree, he is playing with his words, which is something devils do to lure into a contract xd
@@Claudiiwastaken If it's stated in the contract, canonically, he should stick to it. There is the saying 'Devil in the detail' and 'Read the fine print', and thats fine. Nothing wrong with outsmarting people, who do not care to read a contract properly. But unfortunately we do not get to read the contract, just him saying 'You find everything is in order. I won't ... etc'. And if it's really stated like this, then he'd be violating the contract. And that is something devils don't do, since they are defined by lawfullness. So I find it quite disappointing, even more since I'm actually a great fan of the devils and especially Raphael. He always dealt fairly up to this point and takes great pride in doing so. So I wished they had him stick to his word. Had been canonically accurate and doing his otherwise lawful character justice.

He states 'my kingdom would control it's borders and stay within them' He never says what he interprets as his kingdom, thus he never breaks the contract:) And domination isn't equal to torturing so I totally don't understand your first point, it makes no sense.

Its probably just me but i don't really like raphaels outfit when hes in his devil form. It works perfectly for his human look but i always thought it looned a little silly especially with the belt. I would have loved to see him in the helldusk armour.
Raphael is probably number 2 on my list of bg3 characters i want to be with. Number 1 is kar'niss.
I think one thing many people don't consider about raphael is how unbelievably arrogant he is and just how far he is overreaching with his ambitions. He thinks he is so much smarter and stronger then he actually is. He thinks that just with the crown of karsus he could conquer the hells and surpass the arch devils. The 9 hells are a realm that is incredibly structured snd devils can rarely rise the ranks much beyond what they are born as. With the crown raphael may be able to rise up a few ranks but at the end of the day hes still only a cambion and he stands no chance against the likings of Zariel or Asmodeus. If the crown was able to overthrow Asmodeus mephistphales would have done so. At the end of the day Raphael is just a cambion with a ridiculously inflated ego, and is nowhere near as smart or powerful as he thinks he is. The crown of Karsus isn't all that dangerous on a planar level, it's just a problem when idiots get their hands on it, as demonstrated by the chosen and Karsus himself.
@@Belarovis true, but at the same time from his epilogue it is known that he actually succeeds to a certain level that makes Mephistopheles reach out with a peace offering. It's hard to say how precisely powerful the crown is, nothing in game really shows it, despite the fact that if was capable of dominating a very powerful being - the elder brain
@@Claudiiwastakenraphael reminds me of lucifer if many ways. Overreacting his potential and trying to go up against something far greater then him. Their own Pride and arrogance setting them up for a spectacular fall.

I had this idea what if, what if Raphael knows about our world? If you give him crown, in post credit scene he talks to us players and how he will come for our world. He is always multi-layered: Oh he wants to help us, well nope, he wants crown to restore order in hell, well nope he wants our world too. Also I heard somewhere that gods from game are aware of our world and that crown makes him almost god? What if? he doesn´t make show for Tav but us? :D But that´s just a game conspiracy theory :D What do you think?

@@DogsShouldVote But that's not what he says to God Gale. 'You can get it from my domain' is what Gale says to Raphael, not the other way around. The epilogue for God Gale is this: 'The gods will be sundered and from their ruin, I will rise.'

What a character! Spoilers: I was sad that he is killable in-game. Yes, it was a great fight. That music! To die for! But it sucks that he probably cannot return in a sequel. Not without them writing some bull around how he cheated death. Then again, this is Faerun. There's always another way to keep the Reaper from getting his due.
He's not dead! But his end is even more saddening and gruesome. Apparently his father prepares to devour him after his death 😔 you can glance into the Orb of Infernal Envisioning inside the Devils Fee to see that
