- The Randger 550 has my favourite campervan layout. It is a tiny campervan with a large kitchen, shower and toilet. Clearly this vehicle is the same as the one from Karman Mobil, it is in the 5.5 metre class and offers a stack of space inside.

I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

Alan walks straight into the vans and gives an honest informative review not sugarcoating praising them pointing out potential issues too which I like. Mine is a smaller Nissan NV200 conversion 4.4 metres long and the toilet is always something that you don’t want to use.

I agree, this is the best van layout I’ve ever seen. I use a natural black/grey additive. Works great without the usual overpowering hideous fragrance of others.
I don't want to even sleep in the same van as my other half 🤣
Unfortunately, the 160 Kg weight restriction on the bed means that we automatically disqualify this van.

Price: Euro 66,510. USD $75,334
Bed limit: 160 kgs or 352 lbs so each person can be a max of 176 lbs. And that would max it out. Tricky.
Alan, you are right about this layout being a very good one. I love the big kitchen and spacious bath for this size. The bed is perfect. Also get a lounge with swivel drivers seats, what more could anyone want? Even a handy closet with shelves! Very good layout. Not sure I would pay this much though. I need a slightly bigger van at 22 ft with garage too. But not 3 beds, and rear lounge and all that. Just the big kitchen, big bath.
I came across this model on RUclips and immediately fallen in love, I would like a small van with essentially a toilet/shower and this tick my boxes. I better start saving!
This looks like it would be a good van for a weekend of skiing. I would hope the van was winterized .
Such a small van should heat up quick the equipment inside acts as an insulator alone.
I would like that van on a longer wheelbase version nice job of utilizing small space

It's a nice layout. I'd prefer a manual pull down bed since the motor controlling the bed sounds like it's about to die anyway. I'm surprised it's your favorite since it doesn't have a place for a bicycle or a rhinocerous. I really, really like the R570 4x4. I don't really need seating for more than 2 and would eat out side at a picnic table most of the time.

Nice van, no garage but rear rack looks good, and when you can get an electric motorbike like UBCO 2x2 thats light enough to be mountain bike rackable you dont need to. I think when you have any campervan, you really need aa runabout for when you get to location.

Definitely a two person van I think ,others may not agree,get rid of the lounge seat/bed for more room,I myself prefer the bed at the rear as usually there's storage underneath 😀
You could keep a telephone cable repair tent and put over a sewer grid when you get caught short.

I love that ordinarily you are not a huge fan of the overhead bed, but in this case as it has been very well executed and provides necessary headroom, it allows for this to be a favored vehicle. And, shows that you are both fair and open minded.
My two cents (again): I don’t find your videos self-serving even if you might be drawn towards whatever features, brands, layouts you find most attractive. Instead, I find you cover a crazy wide range of units from entry-level to the highest end. You provide thoughtful opinion from a “van life” experienced perspective. You have a great dry sense of humor that can even appeal to us Yankees if we grew up on some Monty Python. And, the length and format of your content varies which well suits the subject matter: three minute quick intros, a longer more in-depth review of one model, a comparison of a brand’s entire range.
(I picked up that use of “range” from your videos!)
There are certainly some persnickety curmudgeons out here in the wasteland of RUclips commentary.

Amazing how blinds in a house that arn't even sealing around the edges actually make it a lot warmer when they are down, they should have blinds inside houses that seal around the edges.

The design is not even new - it has been used at least since the 1980s. Other Trigano companies such as Karmann Mobil use it too - as do many smaller converters.
Hardly a tiny campervan, when compared with the usual VW sort it’s HUGE! And very interesting too….
Nice. But those latches on the cupboards look like they will hook up to loose clothing if open.
A few thousand off the price and it is perfect for a year round vehicle for a couple who doesn't need to drive much (daily commuting).
Hi Alan, do you stay in your camper van when you visit cities? If so, is it easy to find safe, free overnight parking?
I have been doing it for 11 years - mind you I am careful about where I park. Get an app like Park4Night - there are plenty of suggestions there!

It seems alright to me BUT I have only seen it in an exhibtion hall. It might fall to pieces as soon as it is driven!
We're driving a Karmann Mobil Dexter 550 for two years now, which is exactly the same van. The quality is okay - we've travelled in winter, spring, fall and winter. We absolutely love it.

I agree it's absolutely insane! And prices even worse in Canada. Can you imagine a campervan for 68,000euros, what a steal.

I also prefer the blue over the green as I think the green smells horrible . How can you get the stuff in you bowl as you supposed
to put it in cassette before putting it back in the van and am sure you would know this. What are Dometic and Thetford saying about this product .? And yes those seat are a bit of a waste of comfort.
No shower needed if you have wet wipes. You can use a five gallon bucket for a cheap crapper instead of that wc
