Tim, awesome work first of all. I'm very curious how much you tried and/or considered the core SR in the " comfort " setting as an option. I'm not criticizing your decision at all, just looking to see how much you tried that setting. I currently have one of bowtech's most aggressive cam speed bows of all time , the Realm SR6. I am only 160lbs. And I shoot it in performance just fine, however, in comfort setting, it feels like a ridiculously smooth and soft pulling bow. I shoot mine in performance because I'm a short draw guy and need every FPS I can get. Again, I love your videos and keep it up. Just looking for insight because I'm also considering these exact same bows for a 2024 purchase myself
I went with Prime this year, no regrets. Draws and holds better than anything I shot it against. This is what makes Archery so much fun, everybody FEELS a bow differently.
Can’t beat a Bowtech for tunability. However, the most impressive thing for me in this video was seeing how the Elite had no hump into the valley. You could see every other bow flop into the valley, but the elite rolled right over. Those would have likely been my final two as well. Love your videos. Keep it up!
I'm at 10:40 and gonna say your going lift. Just the way you smiled when you were getting ready to shoot it, and the intro. Gonna guess hoyt will be out soon because it beat the matthews last yr. Watching rest to find out. Got to the end and did not see that coming. Good video.
Coming from a Midwest whitetail hunter you western guys are becoming my new favorites. MFJJ, Tim C, and Elkshape have risen to my top. I’m a big equipment guy and love the tinkering and not just pushing sponsored only products
Hey it's okay to pick the BT.. However I'll say ," it's okay to also to get the new AlphaX33 in future bcuz I know you want it also. The long riser is sweet . I love mine. I'm not huge on how BT hold
Good video. I was a little surprised by your choice. I've seen too many shooting salivating over the Mathews Lift. I have a Bowtech SS34 that I will be keeping for a few more years. I don't think you can go wrong with the one you chose.
Shoot the core sr in comfort. I shot it side by side with the alpha x 33 and to me there was virtually no difference. This surprised me because i have shot hoyt for 30 years. Hoyts cams are super smooth to draw and generate good speed. I think it might surprise you.
Good for you Tim. I have shot multiple bows the last couple of years and there is alot of great choices. I hunted with a RX 7 ultra and a V3x33 and they are both great bows. My bowtech shredded 2 sets of cables in two weeks and that was a turn off. Good content and always like your stuff. Best of luck in 2024
I did exactly what you did in Florida two weeks ago. I settled on the Matthews 29.5 lift. It has a little bit of a harder initial pull at start, and then it seems very gradual before the 80- 85% dump back wall. I am very comfortable holding 12 to 14 pounds with my back wallI. My second in line was the Hoyt carbon fiber.
I have a Mathews V3X 29. Bought it new. Honestly because I can work on it myself with my bow press, currently I am just not compelled enough by this year's bows to upgrade. But I do enjoy seeing the new innovations.
I purchased an Elite Omnia without ever shooting it and have been more impressed with it than any bow I have owned since the Xpedition Denali. Owned multiple Elites and being able to tune and tinker plus the way it shoots and feels has been Great! Shoot them all and don’t over look the Elite. Currently own PSE Mach 34, Bowtech Solution and the Elite Omnia.
2020 PSE 33 is the smoothest drawing and most quite bow I ever shot< i have a mathews Creed XS I hunt with and a TRX40 for indoor and the PSE 33 for outdoor.
That was refreshing. I myself am shooting the v3x 33 and i love it, but it was kinda boring seeing those earth Lifts on every video out there . Congratulations on your new bow and have a blast this year !!
Love your videos. Great info there. Im pretty sure this year will be really hard to beat elite ethos/kairos Easy draw cycle with decent speed is hard to get in the same rig... Ethos my next bow ❤🏹
I havnt been anywhere to shoot yet but iv been eye Ballin that same bow for the past month. Gonna try a handful though like you guys recommend. Thanks.
Great choice. I watched y’all’s podcast and the part about TAC. Last year I went to my first one and I was hooked. shot my bow almost weekly through the year, not to get ready for deer season but just wanted to hone in on more 3D style shooting. If you guys head south this year maybe I’ll catch you at the Oklahoma TAC.
Nice video. Only thing I would have enjoyed more since you have the resources, is setting the final 2 or 3 bows up and sighting in a 20-40 yards. Then seeing which one is more accurate for you.
That core ss is arguably the best bow for 2024. I never thought you would choose it bc of your background with the longer bows. I was rooting for it though. Let’s go!
Im a Mathews guy here but i had to laugh when you plugged your channel before eliminating the Lift knowing its the hot bow on the market and would lose some viewers! Love the vids Tim keep them up i watch all your vids!
Grant see that Mathews bows are not always the best out there. They do really make a good bow but there is just as good bows or even better than Mathews there and look there is proof right there in the video here Tim did.
@@krisaunedi4920 Couldn’t agree more. That’s why you try bows and fine what YOU like. I do really really wish Mathews had the tuning ability that bowtech does.
Love the videos as always! This year I went with the elite carbon era. Usually I shoot a longer bow for 3D/hunting but I have 2 verdicts and the era will be a dedicated hunting bow! I love being able to change the mod from smooth to performance and limb stop to cable stop. Endless adjustment sold me! Shoot them all to find what works best for you and you only!
When I tested my verdict I don’t know speed but at 50 yards I was 1” lower than performance mode at the same let line. Waiting for smooth mods for my era.
I picked up a new bow after 7 years, I also went with a bowtech. I chose the SS34, my first bowtech. I don't think a person can go wrong with your final four. Basically the same bows I was considering minus the bow you chose due to the ata. So many good choices, you can't go wrong. I look forward to how the bow works out for you.
Great Video as always! Everybody is getting a little nuts about speed... I mean, there's less than 5 fps of difference between the bow you chose and the rest of "no speed bows" (above or below). That equals to a 2.5lb difference in poundage on the same bow, like shooting #67.5 or #70. I've tested that and you see minimal differences on POI and TOF at 70 yd...How far are you guys shooting while hunting?
I just went from the pse levitate to hoyt vtm31.shot the mathews competitor and honestly didnt see the hype. I had more felt vibrations in the mathews with same dw dl and arrows. Maybe it was the one specific bow i got to try but the vtm31 really had me sold. Nice dark green look nothing really flashy but the laser etched deadheads on the right side was the perfect addition. Not noticable unless the loght hits them just right or unless your within 5ft. And the new almost dull sandpaper feel was an added benefit for me. My pse after handling it started to lose its tacky grip my hand more or less polished it to a slick shine on the grip.
NEdd to take the slowest bow n lower the weight on the rest so they shoot that speed then test them for shootability draw cycle vibration etc If I can shoot a 60lb bow. Aka SR at 60lbs n get same speed as a different 70lb bow I would be all over the SR
Awesome pick man! That’s the only bow I want to shoot and decide to upgrade from my Mathews Vertix. The tuneability on those bows are nuts and really like the specs on that SS for Midwest hunting and a 28 in DL. Plus the flip disc getting two speed settings on them.
Love seeing the comparisons like this. I’m just getting into bows for hunting. I picked up a Hoyt Torrex. Mainly for price point. Would love to see that release your using.
Interesting way of selecting a bow. Love the sound effects of the first “toss” out. Tim…in comparison…how do pick out a new set of golf clubs? Or are you full on archery now?
While i shoot a mathews phase 4 29inch i can see how smooth the elite is compared to the lift and the bowtech into the valley virtually smooth as the whole draw cycle. Personally if i was to look at another bow the elite would be a top contender love the mathews but the elite has my eye
I’m actually surprised you didn’t go with the Mathew’s since shot sense is going to be such a pivotal feature in the world of archery Learning what your doing wrong is a huge game changer
BowTech is hard to beat. It's amazing that when I get on RUclips it seems like all I see is Matthews and Hoyt. I went with the SR because I like speed. If I ever want a smoother draw I can just flip the disc. I've already taken two animals with it however and the draw cycle was no issue in the stand. Love what BowTech is doing
Did you consider hunting with your BT Reckoning? It seemed like you really enjoyed that bow, and I'd be curious to hear your comparison of the Reckoning and the Core SS.
I was like no way you pick the longer ATA version of the bow that another local legend uses, so see you Mathew’s. Plus it would be redundant. I like the sound of all of the features on the Hoyt Alpha X and for someone who doesn’t have any tree stands for hunting whitetail here in the eastern woods 🌲🌳 it would be intriguing for me if I could actually afford a new bow. But since you used a Hoyt last year I understand the desire for something different. I also understand the desire to tune your own bow without a press or a Josh Jones type, so the Bowtech SS, Elite Ethios and the new Athens Axxis would intrigue me too and make it a more difficult choice. I like your choice of the Bowtech Core SS, and with it being shorter ATA it can work better in a tree stand or ground blind if you go that route on some of your hunts. Have fun and good luck 🍀 in 2024. Spring bear 🐻 will be here before you know it. 😎🏹
I've owned all of those bows for a short time and that core ss I get rid of fast I did sell the elite ethos witch I really liked it was just really heavy when rigged out and I have an elite era witch I feel out performs the core ss
You have gotten SO good pulling through the shot, especially with your "newer" index finger release BUT JoelT would whoop your a$$ if he saw the "multi-tap" on the trigger prior to wrapping all the way over and around. 😆😆😆
2024 is going to be a great year friends, it’s the year we get to 100K ✊

Prime is where it's at
Dude your channel has gotten better n better! I love that you’re not anchored to a single brand and document your experience. Keep it up 👍
Thank you my dude ✊
Elite Kairos/Ethos and Hoyt AlphaX33 are my top 2. Ordered both.
Can’t beat a Bowtech for tunability. However, the most impressive thing for me in this video was seeing how the Elite had no hump into the valley. You could see every other bow flop into the valley, but the elite rolled right over. Those would have likely been my final two as well. Love your videos. Keep it up!
The Ethos is by far the best bow elite has produced 👌
The rvx has 0 jump it’s butter smooth
New Athens tunes like the bowtech and draws smoother than an elite. Lil more vibration on the shot tho.
I'm at 10:40 and gonna say your going lift. Just the way you smiled when you were getting ready to shoot it, and the intro. Gonna guess hoyt will be out soon because it beat the matthews last yr. Watching rest to find out.

Nice review! I’ll be going with an ethos this year, my first ever Elite!

so close Elite hands down for the win no dump into the back wall like BowTech enjoy.
Same bow I picked this year, smart choice Tim!
Love the “choose your fighter” style bow displays with the supporting text. Creative Tim!
Nice video. Only thing I would have enjoyed more since you have the resources, is setting the final 2 or 3 bows up and sighting in a 20-40 yards. Then seeing which one is more accurate for you.

I’ve done the same thing.. got a TRX36 with bars and all the goodies👍.. haven’t tried a lens yet but I need to.. my old eyes are tired.. 😴
Awesome stuff, that ethos and core ss are both top bows and arguably the best top bows in 2024 for the home archer.
Good stuff Tim 🤙
I did the EXACT same thing as you and I ended up with the Mathew’s lift 29.5
I just went from the pse levitate to hoyt vtm31.shot the mathews competitor and honestly didnt see the hype. I had more felt vibrations in the mathews with same dw dl and arrows. Which now is best be tune bow tech,Mathew’s,or Hoyt I hear many say if to long the Draw string and can’t be adjusted?
I would of never guessed the out come correctly. Job well done and honestly a honest review.
Appreciate it!
I liked the core ss so much I bought Two.

Nice video! Congratulations on the new Bowtech all the new bows are so Good you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Just ordered some podium stabs from British Columbia using the ol timc code!

I was rooting for the ethos! #teamelite! Great video brotha keep killin it!
I actually preferred the extra jumpiness of the SR. I prefer the feedback over the softer shooting SS
Thanks for your honest review I’m currently shooting a Matthew VXR 28. Looking to get into maybe a different bow for this coming season as well.
Are everyone keeping the PSE out because they where bought out?

I think bowtech has been my favorite recently too.
What field quiver are you running? Looks simple, I dig it
Great vid. I just have 1 question. Kind of important one. What can the bowtech do that the Elite can’t ? As far as adjustability.
Did you consider hunting with your BT Reckoning? It seemed like you really enjoyed that bow, and I'd be curious to hear your comparison of the Reckoning and the Core SS.
The choice makes sense seeing as he is shooting the bowtech target bow.

This is a "review", sort of, that I've been waiting on. All bows I'm considering.
You were shooting the BT'S on performance i take it? Ive never shot one on comfort that had a dump
Yes
Terrific editing. Popping on all cylinders.
My dude! ✊
That Ethos seemed super quiet! I think it’s pronounced E-thos not Eh-thos
No PSE? Curious to get thought.
One question, Tim. Is that bowtech on the performance side? I thought it had to be for that speed.
Yes
YES! good choice!
Bowtech has the best reflex, that is one reason many people shoot them well.
Where do I begin? I want to get into archery and or potentially hunting. Any solid recommendations for a beginner?
I thought the SS had an 87% and the SR had 85% let off? I could easily be wrong. Lol.
Can’t wait to go shop for mine
Solid choice!
The Lift intrigues me but does anyone else think based on multiple RUclips channels that the Lift makes a ton of noise when you draw it?
sounds like the rest
New to compound bows, was wondering What you thought about darton and Athens bows? Assuming you’re not a big fan since they weren’t reviewed.
You have gotten SO good pulling through the shot, especially with your "newer" index finger release BUT JoelT would whoop your a$$ if he saw the "multi-tap" on the trigger prior to wrapping all the way over and around. 😆😆😆
Hey Tim I got a question is it normal to get some vibrations after the shot on longer front bars
You guys should review the APA Mamba series. Smaller bow company out of Bigger Saskatchewan Canada.
Wish more people that would give Elite a fair shake.
Nice!! I would have picked any of the top 3.
Bow Yoda should be a new t-shirt. Give it a mohawk and a beard.....I'd buy it.
The elite hardly move from your hand seem more steady in your hand
I would take that green Elite Carbon ERA hanging on the wall over any of them.
People out here getting their 2024 bow and I'm still saving up for a Chinese compound...
Just got an rx7 and the stoke is high for this season.
Good choice!
Honestly, all those bows are great. I'd have any one of them.
Interesting decision. I think this was the first video someone didn’t pick the Mathews or the Hoyt that I've seen in a while.
Where is your shop located?
Why no PSE in the video?
Lift 29.5 felt like 12 pounds, sitting down in 17°, when that deer walks in. Not aggressive at all, in the moment.
No PSE MACH 30 DS?
That neon Bowtech sign above your head was a little bit of foreshadowing lol
Waiting on a sequel 33 not a mathews fan bowtechs grips dont do well with my hand prime is solid elites solid hoyts nice
Good choice
