@@DustinApplethat’s interesting, I find my Lift to have a nicer draw and back wall than my V3 and VXR. It also is lighter, shoots faster and tuned easier.
I look forward to this time of the year. It’s really cool with the innovations companies come out with. Can you kill an animal with an older bow, of course you can, can you do it with a rock, you sure can, but new smell is nice.
Just went and shot both the AX2 29.5 and Lift X 29.5 side by side. Surprisingly I liked the Hoyt better for the same reasons - nicer draw cycle and the hold at full draw just feels nicer. Going to shoot both again Saturday and make a choice. Thanks for the video!
@DustinApple i do have an Elite and Prime dealer close by. Maybe go shoot the Artus and whatever Prime releases...no hurry this time of year except my impatience to have a new bow!
I’m still shooting a halon 32 great bow but I might switch to Hoyt this year I’m not a brand loyal type of person before my halon I was shooting a bowtech just want something that shoots good bad thing is I can’t test alot of bows because I’m left handed 🙈
I am also a lefty and still shoot a halon 32. I bought an Atlas this summer because the dealer offered me $700 for it. The difference is drastically better. The Halon is a great bow but these newer bows shoot way better. I’m afraid to shoot a 2025 because I know I will want it but I can’t be buying another bow at the moment.
That “forgiveness” you mention with the Hoyt back-wall creates inconsistencies with arrow flight and causes most shooters to not shoot with back tension. Theres a reason target bow let-off is so much lower.
It's impossible for a cam profile to "create inconsistent arrow flight" human error does that. The Lift & LiftX are marketed as a hunting bow witch means it should be designed around hunting scenarios. As a HUNTER the last thing I want is a bow that isn't easily held at full draw for a long period of time.
@TONY4563084 thousands hunt with self bows. 100s of thousands hunt with crossbows. Millions hunt with firearms. So what? That doesn't mean you should follow the masses. I honestly don't care what Mathews does but the 3fps gained by not having a noticeable valley will not intrest me as a customer. Against the AlphaX2 the LiftX is completely different. I love the look of the Mathews however "at anchor" & thru a chronograph, the Hoyt is better.
@@DustinApple i’m not referring to the cam profile, you mentioned the Hoyt has a spongey back-wall that gives you “an inch” or whatever of “forgiveness” - that inch of play will put your arrow in different positions on the rest when you release if you aren’t consistently keeping back tension.
@jakeg2194 that's NOT at all what I said. Nothing is spongy about the backwall on either bow. The VALLEY on the HOYT is more FORGIVING. You don't understand the difference apparently & obviously have not shot both bows over the last 2yrs. Might be best to listen instead of type.
I love Mathew’s but didn’t they have limb issues last year I hope they fixed that because on one video a guy said they are using the same limbs which makes me shy away from Mathew’s
LIFT X 33 has a smoother draw cycle and a better back wall than the Hoyt X2!!! You think they just found extra speed without more aggressive cams and blowing up their buttery smooth draw cycle?!?!? Lift X is the Quietest bow you will shoot. Grips not made by UV.
Both bows have a solid backwall. They do not have the same valley. This makes them less forgiving in a hunting scenario. Words like "smooth draw" come from people that struggle with to much draw weight. And yes the difference between the 3 module system on the previous AlphaX vs. the new 1" specific modules are a big performance increase for shorter draw shooters.
UV known for high quality is a bit of a stretch, UV known for overpriced marginal quality ( made in China) is more accurate. I’m hoping for some $800/dozen arrows that are rebranded Victory shafts that say Mathews on the side. 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad I ordered a Hoyt
Just got my hands on the Mathews UV slider
What an improvement!
I ordered one few days ago I’m excited to put it on my lift
After 7 years of Mathews that back wall ripping made me switch to a Hoyt AX-2 this year
I loved Mathews draw cycle up until the Lift. They messed up a good thing. Need to offer a comfort mod.
@@DustinApplethat’s interesting, I find my Lift to have a nicer draw and back wall than my V3 and VXR. It also is lighter, shoots faster and tuned easier.
@jakeg2194 we're talking about the valley not the draw cycle so much. Lift & LiftX have NO valley.
@ yes that can happen when you lose tension with your lat and back muscles when you draw - that “hump” people talk about?

“Phenomenal” price on that sight. For that same price you could buy 2 high end Axcel landslide sights, and set one up for hunting and another for 3D
I puckered up a bit watching the limbs at full draw on the Mathews. Thanks for the review on both bows.
It is a pretty aggressive cam system.
Why?
Ax2 29 smoked the lift

Id hold off 3weeks until you see the new Prime.

Wait until Prime releases! Huge changes this year. It’s gunna be epic

I have the lift not worth getting the lift x unless you tune your own bows and I don’t so I’m getting the alpha X 29 this year
Is that the realtree apx on that hoyt ax2 32
That Mathew’s is so quiet compare to that hoyt it looked like the draw cycle was smoother as well
The mathews was 28" draw & the Alpha was 30. Both are smooth the valleys are vastly different.
Absolutely love the LIFT X 33

$600.00 (Matthews) Ultraview is hard to swallow. I'll stick with Spot Hogg or Black Gold.
It's even harder to swallow because it's actually going for $699
Axcel Driver looks sweet for 2025
Nice bows, but in my case i cant shoot what aint there. I cant justify upgrading from my 20 yr old pse.
I love short bows
Hoyt Alpha AX-2 32 for me
Lift X will go down as one of the best bows ever made
Been hearing that for 10yrs
What’s the MSRP on them
$1349
The Ultraview sight 699
@@michaelalbert4251are you f’n serious???
@@chocolategravyandbiscuits8418 yes, $699 for a partially 3D printed product. A joke.

Using completely different limbs on the new lift x
