  • Join us as we answer some of your questions about the first few lessons in our Masterclass series. Do you have questions on equipment? How to make your area safe? What ingredients to buy? We can help you get started.
    00:00 Intro
04:00 I see different supplies listed; however, I don't see what size jar is needed to bottle the final product. How many ounces/grams/ml should I get?
05:08 Do you have to put essential oil in this lotion? Can an herbal infused oil be used instead?
06:00 I just finished Lesson 3! I want to know why we didn't consider any of the hydrosol evaporating during the heating process that might need to be replaced. Is it because the total amount of product is small enough to consider the loss negligible?
06:49 I would like to know why we didn;t consider any of the hydrosol evaporating during the heating process.
07:35 Can I reuse old comestic bottles?
08:45 I would like to know as to how you decide the proportion of the oil and emulsifier to hydrosol/water for any emulsion base. Is there an approximate ratio. I guess the emulsifier used would have an optimum percentage that can be used.
10:35 Can I use an electric whisker to whip with as I have difficulty to whip with my right hand. If yes what is it called, what brand and where can I get it in EU. Thanks
12:18 Is it better to use a glass bowl or a plastic bowl dor formulations? does it matter?
13:32 Just finished Lessons 1-3 I have 2 questions. 1) Do you always put the emulsifier in the oil to heat up? 2) Can the hydrosol be added to the hot oil or is it always oil into the water?
15:00 How do you clean and sanitize your pipettes?
16:05 When could I use the mini homogenizer? When hydrosol and oil/emulsifier are poured together and still in warm water bath, or when put in cool bath? Or does it matter?
16:56 Can I use another hydrosol instead of Neroli?
17:23 What is the type of skin this cream is good for?
18:29 Can you recommend a good supplier for essential oils?
19:28 Are you able to help explain legal requirements for selling is there anything we should state on packaging before we sell?
20:54 In Lesson 3, why do you record the hydrosol mass before heating?
21:16 Are there different types of emulsifiers and is there a big difference?
23:10 is it better to make the lotion in one go or in phases as demonstrated?
24:15:00 After we made our emulsion for Lesson 3, do we keep it in the beaker while waiting for the next lesson?
24:52:00 Can we take papaya glycerite out or is it essential, as I could not find papaya.
25:48 How can I know the product I am creating is safe to apply on skin?
27:58 Do you need to add a preservative to your formulation even if you don't add water?
29:09 What is the best way to store the emulsion/cream until the next lesson? Will the emulsion remain good until the preservative is added in 4 days?
29:40 Are you saying I need oan emulsifier in every formulation I ever do?
30:44 Would you please explain more about the emulsifier you used, vegetal?
33:30 Can I use a thermometer that I have in my kitchen?
34:50 I’m curious how this lotion would hold up to hot weather? .
37:30 How did you calculate the amount of emulsifier you required for this emulsion?
38:40 I could only get a jewellery scale that goes down to 0.03. Is that OK?
38:50 I'm don't know my formulation philosophy yet. I'm just going to go for it. Hoping this is OK.
41:00 I read that neroli is an astringent and I know the citric acid dry a little bit . What can I use to replace them?
42:55 Are these ingredients vegan and soy free?
43:18 In the natural skincare industry, is there any benefits of using glass and aluminium?
44:27 If I am using a different preservative and need to adjust my pH with a stock solution, should this be preserved?
46:17 What are some good pointers when looking for trustworthy suppliers?
    47:47 Is there a 100% natural emulsifier?
50:00 How to increase the amount of emulsion from 100ml to 400ml?
51:40 Are we going to receive a certificate for this class?
52:40 For emulsifying what is the difference between using an electric mini whisk and an immersion blender? Ty
53:56 The of the lotion has "organic" in it; can we claim the product is organic?
55:16 I would like to add more additives to the emulsion while making it thinner. How do I do that?
56:12 how to become a formulator?
59:14 Everything weighted, degrees observed, it turned out very liquid. where did I go wrong?
01:01:00 How long can an oil based product last without a preservative?
01:02:00 Can I use the same blender I use for my soaps to formulate?
01:04:00 What is the duration of the Program?
01:06:00 The Kit are out of stock, what should I do?
Our Masterclass Series starts on Thurs 25th June

I'm from Hawaii. Unfortunately, j was unable to watch this live. I just finished all 3 episodes. I watched all of them last night and rewatched #3 just now. I'm loving that this formulation is an orange-scented cream. I love anything citrus, especially orange. I couldn't get my kit, yet, but I look forward to getting my kit and making this cream.

I'd like more info on other emulsifiers. I have 3 on hand and none are what you call for. Is there a resource to use for swapping. My cream was too thin. Still lovely. I did a 1:1 swap with EW NF.
Also, because I'm in Arizona and spend lots of time in the sun, I've already decided that anything citrus is out of the question. I'll be using lavender hydrosol, and still debating between frankincense and chamomile EO.

    Do you formulate with tallow

    • @houseofnaturecanada-herbst7351
      @houseofnaturecanada-herbst7351 Месяц назад +1

tallow is super easy to formulate. it is one of the best miracle ingredient indeed, super safe, no preservatives needed, packed with minerals and vitamins. it has to be 100% organic, grass fed tallow though and might not work for people who go for vegan only products. for all my clients this is go to product to treat acne, cuts, sun burns, rushes. I can keep raving about tallow for hours, lol.
