Thank you so much for the effort to educate us! You are saying we need penetration enhancers with actives like peptides and stem cells because we want them to be delivered deep because they target collagen production, right??With materials like glycolic acid and niacinamide that also have this property of boosting collagen production,if we want this benefit of the active we also need penetration enhancers or a smart formulation like with emulsifiers and osmolytes is enough?Thank you in advance for your answer.
Not with glycolic acid - don't use penetration enhancers, its already small enough! What is this term she uses at 26:24? "Denser packing at the interface"? (I know she's mentioned the concept before about how she's a bring proponent of using multiple emulsifiers in products.) Thank you.
Its the way the emulsifier 'packs' at the interface between the oil and the water - the denser the packing, the more stable the formula will be :) Learn professional formulation with our Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/CertificateinAdvancedCosmeticScience-478/ or Diploma of Personal Care Formulation: personalcarescience.com.au/CosmeticScience/DiplomaofPersonalCareFormulation-479/

Thank you so much for this very informative video. Understanding percentages is like breathing in every day life. Shea butter? What a mess on such a beautiful butter. I even had little creamy dots on the top of my balm. All bad behavior from the combination of Shea and cooling. The scale tips uneven when we have choices to cool on the counter or refrigerate right away. The outcome could be dropping and dipping of the hardened balm oils. What is your favorite choice of cooling snd hardening when using beeswax? Thanks a bunch. Maybe the 10% Butters to oils is going to work.
It is just $80AUD. Please visit this page for more information and to purchase: personalcarescience.com.au/Workshops/Cosmeticoilsbuttersandwaxesworkshop-5209/
We run the lives each month at different ends of our day, I can't be up at 2am trying to answer questions live LOL. But you can access the replay, and you can email us before the live with your questions, and we'll still answer them! Please email: info@personalcarescience.com.au or leave your questions here, we'll answer them! Happy formulating.
Thanks so much Belinda for this video. I appreciate it a lot. I enjoy your videos and I'm wondering why I didn't find your school when I was looking for one? Although, I have enrolled in 2 schools for hair and skincare, I'm seriously contemplating in enrolling in your school. My question, do you have a video on anhydrous body or hair butter?
Is it true probiotic ferments are natural preservatives? As in, we don't need to add anything to them? I wanna make a water-based deodorant with saccharomyces ferment, rose water and guar gum. From what I could tell it seems like all preservatives are anti-microbial and antifungal which kind of defeats the purpose of adding a ferment then right?

Are any of your certificates or diplomas eligible as college transfer credits?
That would be something you would have to ask the institution you are studying with
