Howdy y’all, thanks for stopping by - and happy halloween!! For anyone looking [specifically] for more spooky musicals I recommend Adamandi or Rockabye Rockaybe is an Eldritch horror/comedy musical produced and written by sushi soucy and adamndi is a more psychological thriller one by melliot
If you want more spooky semi story telling music Definitely try Listening to Shayfer James and Will Wood. For Shayfer James I recommend Ferryman, For the Departed, and Tombstone Road For Will Wood I recommend Suburbia Overture, Memento Mori: the most important thing, and Laplace's Angel
For song recommendations, I don't know if it's exactly the FoB/pop punk vibe but You’re At The Party by Lemon Demon I think does a pretty good job of telling a short creepy story with some boppy ass music. Though maybe less plot-driven than 111 Winchester (which sounds like it's maybe the address of the house? Idk that's my theory)
I like murder ballads like Flora or Wind and Rain both by Crooked Still. Or for full Halloween albums I love Oingo Boingo’s Dead Man’s Party or Honeyblood’s Babes Never Die.
I love watching him especially when I'm having artblock ill rewatch his concept corner to get ideas for something to draw or see if it helps breaks the block I'm having
“WHO WILL PRAY FOR YOU WHEN YOUR BODY’S GONE!!!” Nerdy Prudes have taken over my life and you did such a SICK JOB. THE COLORS CAME OUT SO WELL UGHUGHGUHGH
There’s a whole band-Creature Feature-whose entire thing was writing fast-paced, narrative-driven, scary songs. They don’t really write music anymore, but there’s a whole backlog of songs that are all some of my favourites-just in general! There was also a smaller, related band, connected through the lead singer called Rufus Rex. That one’s focused on the end of the world, while Creature Feature is more broad in its themes I’d recommend Such Horrible Things, ‘Dem Bones, The Greatest Show Unearthed, and The Greatest Show Unearthed Returns
it's so rare for me to see people who listen to creature feature and not just one song of theirs! the netherworld is my favorite but nearly all of their songs are S-tier
@@ryph0bic It’s nice to meet one of the three other Creature Feature fans! I’m not sure if I have a favourite song of their’s, but I find myself getting Buried Alive stuck in my head a lot
Honestly, I’d love to see more speedpaints based on singular songs from bands or singers you like. A lot of my favorite art pieces that I’ve made come from listening to music and drawing something that gives the same feel as the song.
The song Nerdy Prudes Must Die tickles my brain in just the right way. Also the very beginning and end where there’s a reflection between Richie’s solo and the end harmony OH MY GOD AMAZING!!! Gonna be honest the trilogy of TGWDLM, Black Friday, and NPMD definitely has a few dream roles for me XD
For some more songs with a bit of a creepy narrative hidden by their high energy sound, might I recommend Hawaii Part ii? The Mind Electric is definitely a fan favorite, but I’d say Murders and Dream Sweet in Sea Major are also quite cool and spooky in their own right.
I think that you would like Bear Ghost! They have some similar vibes to I The Mighty methinks. Hant, The Cartoon Heart would be the best song to start out listening to! As always amazing work!❤ happy Halloween! 🎃🎃
I suggested this one too! I really like 12 Years Howled, even if it is a little goofier in tone. I go feral when "YOU LOOK SO GOOD IN THE FULL MOON LIIIIGHT! OH BABY YOU BRING OUT THE beast in mee~"
there is a fast pace spooky album called Spirit Phone by Lemon Demon. one of the bonus songs called "you're at the party" has a similar story to 111 Winchester, where our main character goes from being bedridden with a fever to a party where paranormal things are happening.
If you like faster creepy musical storytelling songs I recommend Belladonna Melodrama by Charming Disaster. It’s about two lovers getting paranoid the other is trying to kill them. The speed increases as it goes on.
One band that I personally think really nails that "somewhat spooky but with a lot of energy" thing is The Amazing Devil. Some of their songs are very calm, but others are filled with rage and grief and emotions that almost rip you to shreds. They are very different from what you described in the way that even though the lyrics often mention monsters and the wild, at their core they aren't about anything supernatural or the like. Oh, and another fun one is Bear Ghost! More of a fun vibe, but also more... about supernatural stuff in a way? Some of my favorites of theirs are "Sirens", "Rivers is a Vampire", and "Haunt, the Cartoon Heart"
Fun fact! The Amazind Devil is Joey Batey's band! Another fun fact! I found out far too recently that he's the guy from The Witcher and not just the guy from The Amazing Devil 💀 I only knew him from the band and not the show up until a few months ago when I saw him mention the band in an interview. I genuinely thought that was what he was most known for.
Gotta love a spooky time. The 111 Winchester might be one of my favourite things you’ve drawn ever. I don’t know if it super fits the spooky bill but the Ballad of Sara Berry is about a prom queen candidate offing her competition on prom night.
god this artwork is so good??? like the composition, the scratchy shading, the details in the lineart, the _shading_ , the sheer _skill_ and _vision_ , this is _everything_ I'd want my artwork to be < 3 i absolutely love these pieces, I think you did a fantastic job and I hope you had a great Halloween!
Frothing at the mouth rn. I spent my Halloween sick and stressed out, and this was JUST what I needed to end my month on a spooky note. Lighting LITERALLY just lit up my entire room and thunder rumbled my bed out of NOWHERE as I was writing this comment. Alex what did you summon…? Whatever it was thank you for ending my Halloween good!
the band The Forgetmenauts has some pretty good story telling songs like “Gay Werewolf Murded Ballad”, “Tam Lin”, “An Interlace of Bones”, and “The Marriage of Bigfoot and Mothman” not all of them are horror, but still really good songs
If you want more spooky songs with narratives to them, I really recommend Vocaloid songs! specifically songs by the producer Kikuo! they're all in Japanese and the robotic tuning of the singers may not be for everyone but if you read the lyrics and give the songs a listen they're really chilling! some of my favorites are Aishite Aishite Aishite and Dance of the Corpses!
Love this series, I look forward to it every year!! I've seen Ride the Cyclone making it's way around social media, might be a fun musical to look into for next year. Happy Halloween!!! 🎃✨
I love the second piece in just black and white. There's actually a subtle yin-yang energy to it as well with the swirling black and white shapes, and the large eye on the left corresponding to the flame on the right. It's very compelling.
You absolutely need to watch Nightmare Time. It’s incredible and there are so many details and twists that add so much to the lore of hatchetfield. There are also a lot of references to it in NPMD.
Again another year of awesome artworks! If you're ever looking for more upbeat spooky songs, I'd recommend listening to some of Aurelio Voltaire's songs. They're usually upbeat to the point where even some have been turned into animations! Anyways Happy Halloween!🎃
If we're talking 'songs that tell a horrifying story,' two come to mind immediately that are horrifying in different ways; 1) This Is Love by Air Traffic Control, a song about someone trapped in an extremely abusive and dangerous relationship but from the perspective of their abuser, the entire thing has this skin-crawling feel to it and rises in intensity as it goes on, all whilst having a somewhat fast catchy beat, fitting really well with the whole 'pretending to be someone they aren't thing and 2) Kitchen Fork by Jack Conte, it is the _embodiment_ of unhinged, the entire song is just a slow descent into madness, it sounds and feels like a slowly collapsing psychotic break, questioning reality, lashing out in violence, and the singer sells it _really_ well, like towards th eend of the song you can practically _hear_ the singer's mind shattering into pieces just in their voice and it's deeply fascinating and unsettling all at once
Holyyyy when you said you wanted story-telling music with a punch to it, I got so excited!! You may not be able to understand the lyrics in real-time, but I know a genre of music that is known for telling stories while having insanely well written instrumentals: vocaloid music! Vocaloid music is a subgenre of japanese music that uses synthetic voices for the lyrics (not the same as AI) despite the fact that you can make any genre of music with vocaloid, the most common are super energetic pop music and rock music, usually accompanied by some amazing story-telling lyrics Lots of songs are more symbolic of emotions rather than directly telling a story, but you can still find your mind racing about what the lyrics mean and what stories could be told with them If you want a halloween themed song, Happy Halloween by Junky is a great start. It's quite literally about halloween which is made very clear in every aspect of the song, from the lyrics to the instrumental and even the music video Some of my favorite producers are Pinocchio-P, Maretu, Kairiki Bear, and STEAKA
i love the more sketchy style lineart u used for these!! and 111 winchester sounds so interesting!! i have a song like that, lake pontchtartrain by ludo, its about this guy loses his friends to the hypnotic spell of the titular lake, and it’s very upbeat and aggressive, i think u might like it!! thanks for another great video !!! 🍂🧡🍁🎃
You should listen to Leave Luanne and the Ballad of Sara Berry. They're similar to 111 Winchester where it's a story in a song that sounds like it would belong in a Halloween podcast
I personally feel like Alex would be a perfect voice actor for a character in a story that I really like working on. Wayde Canla is this really timid and quiet short vampire who can't help but he brutally honest and I feel like Alex's voice fits so well for the way I imagined Wayde's voice. Quiet and peaceful, but I think there would definitely be an edge of anxious and timid tones when there would need to be. (I might make it into a show when I'm older so I'll definitely look for someone who has a similar voice to ABD)
I think he would probably enjoy it. If you want a va with a similar voice range maybe look for Ben callins. Or ej P4perback. Good luck with the project!
Looked at this video and was just PRAYING you'd put NPMD as your Starkid this year. And I was totally not disappointed. I look forward to your halloween special every year and it was crazy enjoyable now too
I was feeling very sad and am also sick right now, but your videos (and some hot noodles) always make me feel better! There's just something very calming about your speedpaints and it's fun to listen to you talk about the musicals you like. I feel like I am sitting here and listening to a friend ramble about something he is passionate about. Tysm for you videos !!!
if you're looking for semi-spooky songs with a fun overall vibe, i'd go with the musical 35mm! this is the musical with the song "Leave Luanne," which you may have heard/seen, but they have a lot of fun upbeat songs with stories weaved in each one :)
Dam! I love the art!! And i get making a story out of a song so badly! Personally i like a lot of the songs from Bearghost but prelude, necromancin dancin and bark skinpson sure are a hit for me with the spooky vibes are on point!
13:38 this drawing alone is just filling me with inspiration and I haven’t even heard the song yet- both of these compositions are fucking fire but that probably blood coming down the stairs has given me the idea for something I’ve been concept cornering myself and just thank you for the endless inspiration you provide
I just listened to 111 Winchester and man it's a bop, it's not horror but another song that gives me a similar vibe is Summoning 101 by Mili, it's also telling a story and is high quite energy, but it's more about tragedy and love and fantasy (though it is a little gorey with the magic)
Elysion is a band I always recommend for someone looking for something gothic that can also be Halloween-y. As of right now I think they have 3 albums and each slap and have their own different feel yet also stay within that gothic vibes. I listen to them all the time when I need creative fuel some songs are quieter and somber while others give you a sense of energy or emotion. I adore it.
My main recommendation for spooky story telling kinda songs is Harley Poe! There’s definitely some slower songs but there’s also some that are more upbeat. One of my favorites is ‘Taxidermy girl’ about a guy whose wife leaves him for another man so he kills her and the other man and then taxidermies the girl.
That second piece you did is hands down one of my favorite artworks from you to date. Like, the art composition is crazy good. I actually love it so much omfg.
I just watched some of the older Halloween speedpaints before this one and let me tell you how much improvement I noticed in your work durning each video Just like each installment impressed me and inspired me to work harder about my art this one blew me out of the water
NPMD was amazing! I've been recommending it to literally everyone, even if it's just to see Grace slowly becoming more unhinged as the musical goes on. (There's so many small little things, like the "can I please get my coffee" which is ofc a reference to that random guy from the guy who didn't like musicals)
Oh this is INCREDIBLE! I’ll have to give the song a listen, because I too am gripped by a need to have energetic Halloween music. As for my own recommendations- try out Devil’s Train by The Lab Rats, it’s REALLY good and one of my favorite songs- You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween by Muse is also good, if not quite as narrative!
For spooky song reccomendations, definitely check out Jangsanbeom (장산범) by 50mang. It's a Korean vocaloid song about a shapeshifter and its just one of those songs that are perfect for animatics. Also Dear Suns by Abuseken, im not entirely sure about the meaning of the song but it definitely has spooky vibes.
I'd like to suggest Sweeney Todd for the next Halloween Musical video, if you plan to make another. It was the first show I've seen on Broadway and my school is performing it this year. It'd be cool to see some artwork of it. My favorite songs are Poor Thing and City on Fire, but Epiphany and My Friends might be better for illustrations
Not gonna lie, the way you did the last drawing gave me literal chills. The composition, the sketchier line work, all the details you incorporated, it was all just *chef’s kiss. (Your ‘Nerdy prudes must die’ piece was also really good)
My favourite spooky story song has to be devil's train. Because the feeling of things out of your control getting worse for no apparent reason is so terrifying. Also the whisteled "I've got something to show you " gets me every time.
OH! I can recommend that you listen to the devil's train tacks by the lab rats if you want a spooky song that has energy It has very rap energy to it, it's funky, it's fast, it's catchy and it tells a full blown story about the devil tormenting a man and later his grandson telling the story and making them lose everything when approaching the train tracks One of my favorites
God, that second piece is breathtaking. The way you worked with the values is so striking and the textures in the lineart are so strong, watching you create this really inspired me !!
I think The Decemberists (specifically The Rake's Song) may be what you're looking for in terms of an energetic song that tells a scary story. (Or rather in this case a more outright disturbing one)
God I could info dump about how Nightmare Time informs NPMD. The Summoning is so much more insane when you've watched it and get the vibes of the lore for The Lords In Black- it's like seeing your favorite performer on stage! The buildup was insane
from the explanation of your music taste I feel like there might be some Will Wood and the Tapeworms songs that could be good maybe? either way i recommend em to anyone reading this
I liked seeing you experimenting with new things like gradient maps. If I had to recommend something theatrical, there's a play called Grey House that could be interesting to do something new, just doing characters without basing it on music
for upbeat and energetic songs that tell scary stories i’d honestly recommend a lot of Ice Nine Kills songs, especially the Welcome to Horrorwood and Silver Screams albums. they’re a lot closer to metal and hardcore (they’re described as theatricore, mix between metal core and theatre lmao) than 111 Winchester but if you’re looking for energetic horror songs they’re always a blast
OH MY GODDD ALEX YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH YOU ATE THIS UP!!!! both pieces are SO PRETTY and the second one is so interesting with the story from the song. speaking of, i am all for drawing non theater things if it means theyre that amazing ! i listened to 111 winchester halfway through the video and it was so good incredible song rec. as always love your stuff man :))
They're not quite "horror" horror, but Dust Bowl Dance is a fantastic, jaunty eat-the-rich sort of spooky song! Thistle and Weeds, from the same album, is significantly less jaunty but it does have the line "Let the dead bury the dead / They will come out in droves / Take this spade from my hands and fill in the holes you've made" which is worth it imo
your style has become super expressive!! dont get me wrong i love all your stuff, but its nice to see a little bit less perfection and a little more fun thrown in there. super cool !!!!!
These artworks are so cool! I loved the shading and coloring on them especially, very spooky yet whimsical and epic at the same time Also, a good rock song my bestie showed to me the other day is “Ghosts and Monsters” by Saint Chaos that feels fitting for Halloween but has a good pace and energy to it
For storytelling songs I would totally recommend the Mechanisms. They’re a steampunk band of immortal space pirates who go around telling tales of yore, most of which they had some hand in messing up. Most of their music uses old folk music as a basis and then builds/rewrites off of that, although their final album is all original rock songs. The genres of each story vary, including space Western, space mob movie, and space war, but my favorite, The Bifrost Incident, combines a train murder mystery with some really fun horror stuff. I’m not sure if that’s what you were looking for but I think their music is really fun
_I'm glad I'm not the only person who doesn't like a song that drags._ I really need something to have a good rhythm walking speed or higher for me to enjoy unless something fits the bill of what I can stand to listen to. Love the line up this year! And I will definitely be giving 111 Winchester a listen. Update: Holy frick, that song is _awesome._ And kinda making me tear up, ngl. Very worth the search and going into the playlists!
yess the yearly speedpaint! always a treat the 111 is probably a reference to 111 being considered a biblical number (and by extension, occult). my first thought with the Winchester was definitely the Winchester House, so i wouldn't be surprised by that. and I totally feel the thing re: songs with stories but not being able to jive with slower songs as much, lmao.
Some spooky songs/horror albums you may like are the Mechanism's album The Bifrost Incident. Its a musical-like band that tells old stories in a different setting. The Bifrost Incident is specifically a space-age horror retelling of Ragnarok, where the nobles of Asgard go missing alongside their train through the stars. All that's left is a black box, and the story functions like a found footage film. Its fun, lots of body horror, mind manipulation, and death. Its bleak, but its such a fun album that you cant help but smile as you listen to the end of the world. Definitely worth the listen. Another stand-alone song is Frankenstein, which is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi telling of the titular story. Fun and spooky, and a fun take on the story. Shayfer James and Will Wood worked on a song called Ferryman, which is much more up-beat in tone, but talks about 3 different murderers killing lovers in revenge. Its not super spooky, but its a fun song of death. A lot of Shayfer James' music from Counterfeit Arcade can be spooky, like For the Departed or Villainous Thing. Chonny Jash made a cover album of some Tally Hall and Miracle Musical songs called Chonny's Charming Chaos Compendium Vol 1. Both bands can have their spookier or deeper stories in the songs, but Chonny changes some of the lyrics and interviews a story between all the songs. Its fun, fast, and interlaced with some spooky themes.
Dude you should check out ‘The Ballad of Sarah Berry’. Tells a story and very much sounds like the song from a musical despite being a stand alone song.
Love the comments being filled with song recommendations of possibily similar energy as soon as he said he couldn't find anything. Like dang, we out here making a whole playlist for ABD, huh? 😅
CAN I JUST SAY THE MOMENT I SAW MAX'S GHOST FORM I THOUGHT ABOUT THE VALENTINE'S MUSICAL SPEEDPAINT FROM A COUPLE YEARS BACK AND HAD A PROPER KRONK FROM TH EMPORER'S NEW GROOVE "aw yeah, it's all coming together" MOMENT BECAUSE THE GLITTER ON THAT COBWEBBED, BEDAZZLED, LEFT UNDER THE FLOORBOARDS JACKET IS GLITTERING EDIT: no way those are my favourites too!
Two groups I would recommend that have a spooky but not quite *horror* vibe is The Crane Wives and The Amazing Devil. They both have story telling elements in their songs and across their albums, but a lot of it is also left up to interpretation. Everytime their music comes on I just end up thinking of characters and stories, and it's always such a joy especially since both the instrumentals and gosh the VOCALS are just so good. My favorite songs from them are The Garden and The Calling from each group respectively.
One of my favorite Artists drawing art of my newest musical obsession and on my favorite holiday!??!?? I’m in spooky heaven!!!! Also I would HIGHLY recommend watching at least abstinence camp from nightmare time as that’s where Steph and Pete are actually first introduced in the series
I'm working on blending some elements of two comics I did (Horror and a more graphic one) and the mix of shading and color just sent my brain wild. Mixing the poppy colors and scratchy shading gave me so much inspiration! I just have to pick a subject now!
111 Winchester is currently playing in my ear on a loop and is also living in my main playlist. On top of that, I found out I love "I The Mighty" as a band generally. Thank you so much :D
A Storytelling song I like with Halloween vibe is Legend of Woolley Swamp by Charlie Daniels Band. It’s one of my favorite songs to listen to around this time, and it gives me Tell Tale Heart vibes.
Howdy y’all, thanks for stopping by - and happy halloween!! (^^)/

You really got the vibe you wanted when you lined 111 Winchester. The lineart reminds me a lot of The Summer Hikaru Died.

If we're talking 'songs that tell a horrifying story,' two come to mind immediately that are horrifying in different ways;

and 2) Kitchen Fork by Jack Conte, it is the _embodiment_ of unhinged, the entire song is just a slow descent into madness, it sounds and feels like a slowly collapsing psychotic break, questioning reality, lashing out in violence, and the singer sells it _really_ well, like towards th eend of the song you can practically _hear_ the singer's mind shattering into pieces just in their voice and it's deeply fascinating and unsettling all at once
Holyyyy when you said you wanted story-telling music with a punch to it, I got so excited!!
You may not be able to understand the lyrics in real-time, but I know a genre of music that is known for telling stories while having insanely well written instrumentals: vocaloid music!
Vocaloid music is a subgenre of japanese music that uses synthetic voices for the lyrics (not the same as AI)
despite the fact that you can make any genre of music with vocaloid, the most common are super energetic pop music and rock music, usually accompanied by some amazing story-telling lyrics
Lots of songs are more symbolic of emotions rather than directly telling a story, but you can still find your mind racing about what the lyrics mean and what stories could be told with them
If you want a halloween themed song, Happy Halloween by Junky is a great start. It's quite literally about halloween which is made very clear in every aspect of the song, from the lyrics to the instrumental and even the music video
Some of my favorite producers are Pinocchio-P, Maretu, Kairiki Bear, and STEAKA
Red River by AlicebanD is a v. good spooky song that gets faster as it progresses, so it really feels like you're getting swept away.
i love the more sketchy style lineart u used for these!! and 111 winchester sounds so interesting!! i have a song like that, lake pontchtartrain by ludo, its about this guy loses his friends to the hypnotic spell of the titular lake, and it’s very upbeat and aggressive, i think u might like it!! thanks for another great video !!! 🍂🧡🍁🎃
The second painting looks like a manga cover and has such a dark ominous energy to it. In love with it♥️
You should listen to Leave Luanne and the Ballad of Sara Berry. They're similar to 111 Winchester where it's a story in a song that sounds like it would belong in a Halloween podcast
Yes!! I was just about to suggest those. Love them ❤
I personally feel like Alex would be a perfect voice actor for a character in a story that I really like working on.
Tysm for you videos !!!
get well soon dude!! 💖
@@ABDIllustrates thank you 💕
if you're looking for semi-spooky songs with a fun overall vibe, i'd go with the musical 35mm! this is the musical with the song "Leave Luanne," which you may have heard/seen, but they have a lot of fun upbeat songs with stories weaved in each one :)
I thought ot that musical to! Its really good.
Marianas Trench has a song called “The Killing Kind” which kind of fits the spooky bill that 111 Winchester sets. Loved both pieces!!
both so good but I find the second one particularly stunning!
You outdid yourself with the second one! It's absolutely stunning!
Dude 111 Winchester is actually the best song ever thanks for the rec!
I just watched some of the older Halloween speedpaints before this one and let me tell you how much improvement I noticed in your work durning each video
Just like each installment impressed me and inspired me to work harder about my art this
one blew me out of the water
(Your ‘Nerdy prudes must die’ piece was also really good)
I'm so glad we had the same thought process and theming with that song. 😅
Also as usual your art looks absolutely amazing!
14:30 well you definitely captured something alright
My favourite spooky story song has to be devil's train.
Because the feeling of things out of your control getting worse for no apparent reason is so terrifying.
Also the whisteled "I've got something to show you " gets me every time.
Omg the timing is perfect I just finished fanart for nerdy prudes must die about an hour ago! That musical was so cool!
OH! I can recommend that you listen to the devil's train tacks by the lab rats if you want a spooky song that has energy
It has very rap energy to it, it's funky, it's fast, it's catchy and it tells a full blown story about the devil tormenting a man and later his grandson telling the story and making them lose everything when approaching the train tracks
One of my favorites
I watch this series religiously every year it is by far my favourite thing on the internet
Omg Nerdy Prudes being the first one up is SENDING me, starting with an absolute banger
God, that second piece is breathtaking. The way you worked with the values is so striking and the textures in the lineart are so strong, watching you create this really inspired me !!
Chilling artwork, especially the second one! Love the composition and the lineart (and obvs cool colors)
11:02 oh I will absolutely give that a listen that sounds extremely up my alley
I think you would love Bear Ghost songs ('Rivers is a Vampire' or 'Necromancin Dancin' among others from them)
THIS ART IS SO GODLY IT’S TERRIFYING!!!! The compositions of both are incredible!!!! Can’t wait to see more spooky musicals in the future!
Yay!!!! I'm so happy to see this video! These speedpaints and hearing your thoughts on the songs and art is so fun and gets my brain running!
Literally how you described the npmd song was exactly how I've been feeling, I keep replaying the end part over and over
I think The Decemberists (specifically The Rake's Song) may be what you're looking for in terms of an energetic song that tells a scary story. (Or rather in this case a more outright disturbing one)
I will clarify it's not an "elecrtic guitar" sort of energetic. It's a "big drums and rough lyrics" energetic.
God I could info dump about how Nightmare Time informs NPMD. The Summoning is so much more insane when you've watched it and get the vibes of the lore for The Lords In Black- it's like seeing your favorite performer on stage! The buildup was insane
Could you draw "Suppertime" from Little Shop of Horrors? That's a great show with a very campy dentist, and I think that you would like it!
from the explanation of your music taste I feel like there might be some Will Wood and the Tapeworms songs that could be good maybe?
either way i recommend em to anyone reading this
the best time of year is here ! 🎃
I wait for this speedpaint all year! I love your artwork
I NEED the 111 Winchester piece as an art print ASAP!
your style has become super expressive!! dont get me wrong i love all your stuff, but its nice to see a little bit less perfection and a little more fun thrown in there. super cool !!!!!
Dude the last one. Legendary, poster material. I envy thy's art skill
These artworks are so cool! I loved the shading and coloring on them especially, very spooky yet whimsical and epic at the same time
Also, a good rock song my bestie showed to me the other day is “Ghosts and Monsters” by Saint Chaos that feels fitting for Halloween but has a good pace and energy to it
For storytelling songs I would totally recommend the Mechanisms.
That spooky transition 🤌🤌🤌🤌 Frighteningly fantastic work this year!!!! ❤❤❤
I listened to the song and WHAT A SPOOKY END TO THE MONTH!!!!
Very lovely fun video. I liked the addition of a narrative-heavy creepy song. Also, I liked the animated effects at the end. 🎃
Very worth the search and going into the playlists!
yess the yearly speedpaint! always a treat
the 111 is probably a reference to 111 being considered a biblical number (and by extension, occult). my first thought with the Winchester was definitely the Winchester House, so i wouldn't be surprised by that. and I totally feel the thing re: songs with stories but not being able to jive with slower songs as much, lmao.
Love this
Some spooky songs/horror albums you may like are the Mechanism's album The Bifrost Incident.
This video/series is what finally got me to watch Starkid's hatchetfield trilogy. Best decision ever
Sarah and the Safe Word is a good band who make like spooky yet compelling songs with narrative.
Love the comments being filled with song recommendations of possibily similar energy as soon as he said he couldn't find anything. Like dang, we out here making a whole playlist for ABD, huh? 😅
I am hoarding every suggestion honestly
CAN I JUST SAY THE MOMENT I SAW MAX'S GHOST FORM I THOUGHT ABOUT THE VALENTINE'S MUSICAL SPEEDPAINT FROM A COUPLE YEARS BACK AND HAD A PROPER KRONK FROM TH EMPORER'S NEW GROOVE "aw yeah, it's all coming together" MOMENT BECAUSE THE GLITTER ON THAT COBWEBBED, BEDAZZLED, LEFT UNDER THE FLOORBOARDS JACKET IS GLITTERING
EDIT: no way those are my favourites too!
