Because you have used the MTW1 for longer time, so it was already burn in. That's why the sound is better. You need to burn in the new one for at least 300hours, or may be longer and try to compare them again.
After watching this video I ordered MTW1, also because they were $100 off on BestBuy for $199. It’s day 1 and I’m experiencing issue with my mic volume during phone call. The other side almost cannot hear me at all, and complaining it’s like I’m talking from really far away. I’ve already updated the firmware to 1.27. Does anyone know why it’s happening or how can it be fixed ? I’m thinking of returning them as they’re probably faulty.
Let‘s wait for the first software update ..... ANC isn‘t really convincing yet, and hear through sound get‘s sometimes overmodulated. Hope they can fix this. However, for sound enthusiasts there is no better sound available on the market.
I really like what you did with feeding us audio from the earbuds but man, I kept adjusting my earbuds because of how far the center image was off and it gave me anxiety. I know how hard it is to fight that kind of issue when recording buds though. The test track was extremely bass heavy as well which is fine for showing how clear they will be for bass heavy genres I listen to, but consider trying to find a second track that is a lot more technical for us metal heads to have a more clear picture of what we are getting. Overall excellent video, keep it up!
The call quality is much better on the MW1’s. I hope this can be improved via firmware? Audio quality is stellar in both. The MW1’s have a slightly wider sound stage, but the MW2’s sound more balanced. The first thing I noticed with my MW2’s is the perceived low volume. They have plenty of volume, but there’s a huge difference between 50% on my MW2’s compared to 50% on my other earbuds. While the ANC is not as good as my Sony WH 1000XM2’s, they work well. They do a good job drowning out my lawnmower.
Ay bro, you look like someone I can trust. Can i ask you something? Ok so, i have the 1s, and I'm a REALLY SOUND QUALITY enthusiast. In other words, I'm really making sound quality my priority here. With that said, I know that the 1s are slightly better, I guess. BUT, are they like ALOT BETTER to the point where you think I might be kinda disappointed or nah not really? Like, will I still love the 2s or no? I really wanna know cuz I really want to buy the 2s, but the 1s have killer sound. If the 2s are really good sounding tho, because of the balancing like u said, and if it's still pretty cool and loud at max volume, then yeah, I'd love to get them. I just need to be reassured. Please Help! Thank You!!!
@@InvictusLegend I had the same question(s).. Today I went to the store and trade my Momentum 1's in for the 2's. The very first thing I noticed: the 2's fit my ear way better. I thought this was not going to be such a big deal but it really is. Second; I noticed a small difference in sound stage (not so wide) but it is still awesome and I have the feeling it is more in balance than the 1. For me there are no huge differences between 1 and 2 in sound quality for now. And yes there is a big difference in volume, but still no problem for me. With the 1's I never reached beyond 70% volume. With the 2's I come close to 90%, but never missed 'more' volume. Also, sometimes I had some errors throughout my bluetooth with 1 and my iPhone. Sometimes there was some lagging or strange noise in the bluetooth connection. I didn't notice anything with the new 2's. Maybe this will help you, good luck! But after all; just test, try it for yourself and enjoy!
@@InvictusLegend I have got the 1 and now 2's. The sound for me on the 1' s just edge out the 2's but not a lot in it. Bass was the main issue which the eq has sorted for me. I have the latest software update and am getting good call quality. My main purchase motivation was sound, however my reality is lots of telephone calls The 2' s are working great. The ramped up hear through is significantly better and the anc nice. For all purpose corporate use and personal sound pleasure the 2' s are the complete unit for me. A quick point on the 1's. I use a USB c magnetic head in the charging port. This has solved the battery drain problem.
Did you find the new ones louder than the first generation? For example, when I watch tv with my Airpods at volume 20 it will be louder than my Sennheisers at the same volume of 20. Thanks
Listening to the original track and the recording of the earbuds, I think you have slight imbalance issue with the recording. I notice that both in call quality part where you switch the audio to environment noise and when listening to the recording of audio quality.
Thanks for your review. Very useful. No doubts it is recommended to upgrade due to additional features or lack of v1 defects (battery drain), but... to make the review fully completed... would you please conclude whether it is worth to upgrade taking into account the sound quality ONLY?
Are they ever gonna fix this one device at a time issue? Just shelling out $300 and not getting the ability to connect to two devices at the same time sucks. You have to go to other device settings to unpair and then pair with the device you want to use it with. Are they ever gonna put end to this? Or fix this?
Thanks for the review. I purchase the warranty when i purchased the Momentum’s 1 and was so tired of them being dead all the time so I was able to use my warranty to buy the second gen. Does the base get any better with adjusting the sound quality in the app?

Hi Thank you for one another reference video that everybody can make a right decision between two of them. About call quality: I’m really shocked.version 1 did better on both quiet & noisy environment. And about audio quality: I think version 2 has more naturally sound. The bass on version 1 Is a bit artificial and exaggerated , sound stage and details are pretty good, but I prefer the normal bass , a bit higher details and separation of types of frequencies on version 2. Also I have to notice the improvements on version 2 in terms of audio quality is not the reason to choose newer one. Except the call quality that has been declined, the rest of version 2 items such as audio quality (just a little better) , improved battery life, existing the Active Noise Cancellation , are defensive factors to choose MTW2. Your last year video: the 3 reasons not to purchase the original MTW, was enough to me to avoid buying that. Overall, as the call quality is not important to me I think MTW2 is better choice. Thank you again 🙏🌺🙏🌺🙏🌺
Yeah I definitely like wider soundstage, which is hard to get on wireless earbuds. So definitely prefer the sound of the first generation. Bass is also more impactful. Just overall a more full sound, which I really need for earbuds to want to listen to them.
Stevie Johnson depends on your needs... if you just want great sounding buds and don’t need or care for active noise cancellation I would say get version 1. Especially for that price. $300 for minor upgraded version does not compute with me but just my opinion
Version 1 is on sale Best Buy for 199! And that’s a steal of a deal!! Don’t active noise canceling on these type of earbuds.. I’m buying more for the sound and 4 hrs of music is enough time to listen to music . I also have the Sony wfx1000 whatever they titled for the noise canceling if I’m seeking to be in that type of environment along with great sound!! And I also have the jabra elite active 75t if I needing to get in a good sweat or even a shower while listening to my jabra elite active 75ts. So I’m sticking with the momentum 1s just for the sound stage plus they’re on sale.!!! Great review by the way!! You’re always on top of your game!!!

sound is good but wtf just happened on call quality in version 2?! hopefully the future update will fix that, because right now i will say it is not worth it to get that if the sound quality is only slightly better than the version 1.
I am listening this music with Senns MTW 1 and comparing it with the sound from a Bose QC25 (considered as a neutral headphones) played through an Audiofly DAC. The MTW 1 adds a layer of thickness and a body to the voice of the singer that does not exists on the record. On the QC25 her voice is more typical sweet- smokey feminine while with the MTW 1 makes her voice sound thick as a blues singer, it does not extends on the highs as the original and then it has a sharp peak in the "s". It sounds less natural and less true to the original. Many people may like this artificial coloration, from what I can hear in this video the MTW 2 is more true to the source (and hifi).

Well they have messed that up haven’t they. With all the rough edges and the sterilisation of the sound that seems to be a trend now with buds not sure 300 bucks is warranted. The test track was extremely bass heavy as well which is fine for showing how clear they will be for bass heavy genres I listen to, but consider trying to find a second track that is a lot more technical for us metal heads to have a more clear picture of what we are getting. Overall excellent video, keep it up!
test ttack was bass heavy? were we listening to the same song? It had no bass and drums and I found that extremely strange.
@@cooloutac made the comment a year ago. Have no idea what track it was.
@@Chopped86 uhuh....
Do not forget to remove the factory plugs from the sound channels of the headphones (black foam)! The sound really gets better (Sennheiser M2)!
Did you find the new ones louder than the first generation? For example, when I watch tv with my Airpods at volume 20 it will be louder than my Sennheisers at the same volume of 20. Thanks
Great review, but it threw me off when he chose the 2s based on variables that weren’t mentioned at all in the review
Please, compare the Sennheiser version 2 to the B&O 3rd generation.
Does the base get any better with adjusting the sound quality in the app?
hey, how were you able to use your warranty to purchase gen 2? Mine recently broke and I was hoping I could do that same thing
@@aphotiq I purchased the protection plan with Best Buy and it always seemed like the battery was dead in those whenever I wanted to use them, even on standby. So I took them back to best buy and they said I could trade them out for anything. I didn't know that there was a new version until I checked the site. I did have the pay the difference of around $75 though. I love the Senny's, but I do feel like the first gen sounded a bit better, but idk. I'll have to play around with them some more.
@@Wbrooks01 Thank you, I got mine through Amazon and they don't provide any kind of exchange policy so it looks like getting mine replaced by sennheiser is the only option. Unfortunately they don't seem to offer a trade-up plan either.
I sent my gen1 to Sennheiser and they sent me a new pair of gen2. Great customer service
I'm a bass hip hop guy and I love my 2's
Hi
Thank you for one another reference video that everybody can make a right decision between two of them.
Sound is just overall cleaner. Especially in the vocals.
How long do these last left unused in the case? The V1 would last about a week, after which point everything would be completely dead.
I love this format. Thanks for doing this.
Hi,is there anyway to check battery of case and earbuds separately for MTW2?
Has the firmware upgrade fixed battery life on the momentum 1 ?
Nope mine still drain out really fast
Wish you could help out, I have the sennheiser momentum tw 2, I keep hearing an echo. How can I fix it?
So if I don’t have either pair and version 1 is on sale for $180, should I just get them over version 2 for $300?
Stevie Johnson depends on your needs... if you just want great sounding buds and don’t need or care for active noise cancellation I would say get version 1. Especially for that price. $300 for minor upgraded version does not compute with me but just my opinion
stagm3 thanks for the feedback. I was thinking the same
What about the idle drain on MTW1? is it fixed?
You’re always on top of your game!!!
manuel angel now on sale for $179 at bestbuy
Hello, can you give more Info about Aptx-HD codec tws earphones please (24-bit Audio resolution)? In the market, most of all earphones are 16-bit resolution.
Do you know any 24-bit model tws earphones? Many thanks...

Can the charging case be used interchangeably?
I have the Momentum 1's. was looking to upgrade and was doing some research.. appreciate what you do here .. I like the deeper bass in the ons but ht e2's sound better and the battery draining problem in the ones pretty much says it all .. upgrade
sound is good but wtf just happened on call quality in version 2?!
hopefully the future update will fix that, because right now i will say it is not worth it to get that if the sound quality is only slightly better than the version 1.
Great Review. How does the Sennheiser Momentum 1 compares to the new Bose Sport Earbuds in terms of sound quality?
So much better. I've used the Bose sport earbuds and the Momentums blow them away. So much clearer.
Great video, thanks. Pity there weren't any real music with drums and guitar though.
The song LITERALLY had a guitar in the backing track. Ok BOOMER
i was thinking the same thing.
@@devPunks thats all it had bud. where was the bass and drums? Did he think people wouldn't realize the mtw2's didn't have as much bass? His plan failed for us audiophiles. lmao.
@@cooloutac nice way to move the goalposts. What does your comment have to do with the fact there was guitar and dude said there wasn't? You are all over the place like birdshit. If you feel you can do better then show better. This review is better than nothing. And pretty damn good if ya ask me. I got BOTH pair from this video.
@@devPunks this video is what is moving goalposts. Don't be mad at people pointing it out or the fact ur birdbrain couldn't figure out what the OP was obviously implying. It was the same thing me and I'm sure many people thought about his choice of music track. I personally find you crying about it also suspicious. There are many shill videos,. But like this one they caused me to buy the one. For $120. I don't care about the shorter battery or anc. I'll take the better sound and aptx.
Do the original ones have ANC?
For a AUD$499 pair of earbuds, they have shockingly shite voice calling clarity. You think they'd be able to squish something closer to Apple's Airpods call quality for that price.
You got a subscriber mate, you are absolute legend to make my decision clear.

I was waiting for this... Thank you.. I would prefer MTW2 after listening to this comparison, it has refined sound stage. The music coming out of this is not warmer as compared to MTW1. But I thoroughly loved MTW1s which I had.
Akash Salimath so are the 2 better than the 1? I’m undecided what to buy please help
First of all GOD BLESS YOU and YOUR CHANELL :-) finally great serious channel, was tired of unboxing guys flashing those knifes and showing user manual and warranty papers in 2020 and flipping the box 20 times to show how box look like.. .:-))) you deserve SUBSCRIBE to hit for you... Now, are you sure you have new version of SENNHEISER 2 :-))) kidding cant believe why they screw up Momentum 2 they doesn't sound good at all.... at least in my opinion i have old version and will keep it definitely
Thanks again for great experience through your channel
But White Shoes makes up for it.🔪🔪🔪
Well they have messed that up haven’t they.
With all the rough edges and the sterilisation of the sound that seems to be a trend now with buds not sure 300 bucks is warranted. I have been trying the V2 and the Sony’s back to back over the last few days. I now understand why some people were so disappointed in the sound of the V2 compared to V1. Technically superb but they have lost their edge , maybe 220-250 bucks top
I won't upgrade MTW1 has much crispier call quality than version 2.
This is indeed an unique review video and super helpful. Gracias!
Excellent video sir! I'm in agreement that the MTW1s are warmer than the MTW2s! There's no doubt about it
Sem dúvidas, o melhor canal para esse tipo de avaliação. Sua linguagem não verbal ao ouvir as músicas nos prende tentando identificar se está gostando mais ou menos.
No way will I give sennheiser another chance. These are brand new, the call quality should not require a firmware update!!! Alarm bells.
Buds plus just work flawlessly out of the box with zero hassles. And they sound quite good now.
I say the same thing about call quality. Sennheiser is such a strong brand yet they don't seem to focus on call quality. Unlike all the manufacturers I met at ces are focusing on audio and calls. That being said sound quality is soo good
@@ebpman If these nailed the call quality, I would have been really tempted and probably got them. I use my phone regularly and it needs to be good not rubbish, especially for the price of these..
Ok so I have gone through 2x pairs of TW1 because the left earbud keeps dying AFTER ONLY 6 MONTHS of use - that is 2 different pairs of TW1s - how is this possible? apparently this has happened to many people (can look this up)
Ok - I see that there is a 2nd gen TW2 so I get them. Great, except the quality of the TW2 sound is inferior to the TW1!!!
Seriously this is RIDICULOUS!! How is this possible?? So pissed with Seinheiser WTF!!
Great Vid content.
Thanks for your review.

Amazing comparison! Kudos sir!
amazing job bro
In the end the Battery draining issue might Be the only reason for me. Due to that issue i bought The Sony’s. But the bass line i prefer in version one 🤔😮
Whats thename of song
the fact that mt1 is better than the mt2 it has only to do with the hardware or they are better optimized over the time by sennheizer and the mt2 will achieve their full potential in the future with updating the firmware again and again anybody knows???
THANASIS AZOUDIS plus they size of the 1 may have something to do with it too
Ok. Excellent review, but that test music kills me. Who is the artist please!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I’m going to wait for the Jen three because I am the Jen one and I don’t want to keep spending money on earbuds.
The sennheiser momentum 1 the battery case really sucks 😫😫
I bought MW1 for about $200.. I’m overly impressed with its Audio quality, I’ll not upgrade to MW2.. Cant afford to shell out another $300 ! I can live with MW1’s drawbacks!
If ur mw1 breakdown before 2 years, u can send it to Sennheisers and they'll send u the mw2 for free :)
