It was so hard keeping my summon alive long enough to make it to this boss battle with most of his health. He kept Velstadt busy long enough where I could spam Hex him into oblivion.
This boss is not easy. Yes summon both phantoms, you'll need them to distract him. Punish when he does a slam, stay away when he swings and arrow or magic him. His swings are wide and practically 360 degrees. Punish when he waves his mace to do magic, just get behind him. Second phase is at half health he does dark magic shield on himself. You'll do very little damage at this point, but just keep hitting as he cast this. It's a long cast animation. It seemed like his dark shield lasts about 10 seconds. He doest stand still long enough to poison, except both magic casts. I wasn't able to poison him. As a matter of fact, he's resistant to poison. Weak to lightning and strikes.
