100% with You. He gave it the full treatment and he was a riot, funniest thing ever on daytime TV - and the real disgust on Judy's face made it even better! But I don't watch Daytime TV and I suspect it was the regulars who it really upset. And "Is it bcos I is black" was perfect... it was in fact a metajoke, given that Madeley is as black as the character he imitates. It was just awesome.
I think he's a good laugh. The Sun started it, he went along with it. He wasn't taking himself seriously with the Ali G impression, he knew full well how people would take it. Credit to him, life would be dull without moments like this.
The Partridge comparisons are rather tedious now. Pointless also, because Madeley has a far greater sense of self-awareness than Alan ever would. I had wondered if Charlie Stayt was now a much better candidate for a ‘real-life Alan’ until I heard him actually say it out loud himself. That’s the legacy of Partridge (and The Day Today as a whole). Everyone on British TV ever since has it gnawing away in their head at all times.
@@kisbie Going back some years, I met Richard and Judy and they are both lovely people. Richard is really funny, he doesn't take himself too seriously and has a good sense of humor about his mannerisms. I really like them both, the people you see on TV are very much the same off TV.
There was nothing wrong with this. He went along with the joke in the article, poking fun at it. If anyone should be embarrassed it should be the Sun reporter that wrote the article in the first place.
We featured a classic Richard Madeley story on our podcast - an article that Madeley wrote that honestly could have been written by Alan Partridge himself - a must watch: ruclips.net/video/OWodWK6ysjQ/видео.html
I've no idea why people think this was a car crash of a segment. I thought it was fucking hilarious at the time and still do.
It was a bloody brilliant impression and will never get old!

The thing that makes it better is that no way ever thought Richard had this side of him
Stuart Maconie: the man who was witness to every pop culture event, every single TV series and every single toy for the last 50 years.
Talking head Maconie.
I'd never get bored of his impression. Madeley should still be on TV today hes an effing legend.
It is fucking brilliant impression
Why oh why oh why hasn't anybody managed to upload the whole segment without the talking heads ?
But we wouldn't have seen Ricky Gervais young else due to copyright infringement and stuff.
More like Suzie Marsh's talking collagen lips... Yech
I can definitely watch it more than once ..cracks me up everytime . Fair play Richard .

Spot on!!

@@kisbie I've never watched Alan Partridge once. It looks rubbish.
Wooooosh
Why do you do them makeovers, why not start with girls who are fit already. So true XD
He is funny charasmatic not afraid to be himself and not fugly he should be on TV.
As cringy as Richard generally is, he was funny here.
to be fair this is a great impression
Richard did a great job ☺️
does a brilliant Ali G
Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway 😂
This is fucking great. How does anyone dislike this?!
First of all the weather girl made the comment herself, it’s harmless banter, people did to get a life and lighten up
It's not embarrassing at all ffs! It's just funny, end of!
Fair play to him. Thought he did brilliantly.
He's shit
Correction. You *think* he's shit. It's all just a matter of opinion. Your opinion is not a fact.
@@dangunning1 he’s THE shit

If he did that today, the woke sjws would have a collective aneurysm
Not really gramps. They'd think it was just as fucking cringe as it was at the time.
@harrywhitehead7442 aww did I violate your safe space?
@@Evemeister12i do feel sorry for you
Judy's sound after he says because I iz black says it all
Honestly, I think he did quite well. It was the woman who was incredibly cringeworthy in this one.

2:23 Wrong!!!! Ive seen this more times than i care to admit
Why does he go Robbin in Tesco though Julie innit
Ricky Gervais thinks it's funny. Well that says it all...
It’s definitive proof of Gervais’ pillockness that he believes it’s ‘daring’ to mention drugs or homosexuality on This Morning.
@@kisbie I bet you like Mrs Browns Boys
@@SkyDigital_01 MBB and Gervais (w/o Merchant) are both mediocre. Solid 3/10.
@@kisbie haha good one
Judy's acting ruins this lol
I am 63 and seen some dire stuff on the box BUT THIS IS RIGHT UP THERE FOR DIRENESS THO !
Haha it’s funny!
Madeley, the original Anti-Woke warrior.
Cringe
Voted the No 1 most embarrassing British TV Moment EVER
By who? Or indeed, by whom? Someone with no sense of humour I suspect...
This just proves most of the media are even more cringe than him
I thought he did a bad impression from the way other people referenced it ... why don’t they like it, it’s hilarious and he was very committed!
Come on this s*** is hilarious lol
I thought he did a great impression, not embarrassing at all.
The cringe factor
I wouldn’t call those “computer simulations”. They are just basic Photoshop jobs.
This was cringe to watch but funny at the same time!
Id rather guide my dad into my mum than watch this again.
Lmao
Well I'm not here to kink shame
David Beckham should have won the vote!
Cringy but funny
thought he did rather well.
Why does he sound Geordie?!
Me thinks this is wicked, him not pretending to be Billy Shakespeare, just a bit of entertainment, so no problem.
Worst moment in British TV history
