Man I was so hooked on GL when I was a beginner in the 80’s, those dam inverted chords he throws in are so tasty. Solos are so well constructed as well. Great stuff.
Mr. Scary, Dream Warriors, When Heaven Comes Down, The Hunter, It's Not Love, In My Dreams, Kiss Of Death, Alone Again, Breaking The Chains, Unchain The Night... SOOO FREAKIN MANY OTHERS TO CHOOSE FROM! Love this lesson, thank you🤘🔥
I got to see Dokken in 2005 and 2007. He opened for Tom Petty and kicked ass, and Stevie Nicks even came out as a surprise to do a few duets with Tom Petty. Such a great show. And in 2007, he did an acoustic set owning for Queensryche which was amazing. He even messed up doing a Bon Jovi cover of Livin' on a Prayer and he stopped his set to laugh his ass off, then picked it right back up and killed it. Dude is talented as hell. VERY UNDERRATED.
Were you high on drugs? Im not surprised he screwed up when you saw him...he ALWAYS does. He is actually the most overrated guitar player from the 80s. Incredible studio guitar player, and the vibrato on the record version of this song is perfection. I have yet to hear anyone even come close, even Lynch himself. Live, he's the sorriest excuse of a guitar player I ever heard. I was inspired to pick up a guitar by 2 songs, this one and Malmsteen's solo on Kree Nakoorie. I then saw Dokken, Rising Force and Dio on tour and Malmsteen intimidated the living shit out of both, Campbell and Lynch. Lynch was his usual pathetic self live with a 3 bar solo and no spot light on him. He was that scared he had to follow Yngwie's performance. It was the same thing with "We're Stars" during the recording, no one wanted to follow Yngwie. I was very disappointed that first time I saw Lynch live, he was 10% of the studio Lynch with a lot more gain. I then saw him numerous times over the years including 2 free clinics and the same thing, I couldn't believe the garbage that was coming out of the guitar. Lynch will always be a studio guitarist due to editing and sped up parts, they all did it back in the 80s, but Lynch was the biggest cheat. Eric Johnson, Yngwie, Petrucci and Gilbert are about the only ones that are as fast, if not faster, live. The rest are a good 10bpm slower. I don't care about speed, but it is what it is. Back to my question, I already know the answer, but were you high or drunk?
Yet ANOTHER outstanding note-for-note rendition! You are serious business, my friend! There's nothing you can't play...better! Much admiration and huge inspiration! Cheers!
Brings me back to my concert days and seeing rockin Dokken at JFK in Philly with Van Halen headlining the tour. Got to see so many great bands that day. Dokken, Metallica, Van Halen. I was so happy for weeks after. Another great tab!! Cheers.
Man, you just popped up in my feed and haven't touched my guitars in ages. Think I'll grab one and see how I do after so long. Just what I needed to end the week. You're killin' it! Respect dude 🤘

Dude thank you so much. The last couple of months I had to study al lot.Not school but studying George Lynch. Into the fire is one of the tracks that has a very hard solo, for me at least. So thank you
@@jasonsheppard7428 that’s true Lynch love using those weird tunings like a quarter step low and I think he even went up a half step, wish he’d pick one and stick with it. Lol, great job look forward to seeing more hair metal tabs since I grew up in that era.
This is a fantastic cover. Really well done! When will the TAB be published? Will absolutely purchase them, as I deeply appreciate the accuracy and integrity of the content produced by Mr. Tabs and Jason. Thank you!
Thanks for the Awesome accurate tabs and video lessons. I have learned so many tunes from you and I have waited a long time for someone to finally make one this easy to follow....
Mr. Tabs you are the man the myth and the legend you can play anyting my friend you are once again a smooth criminal much love from Huntington West Virginia ❤
I played guitars for this song live in my metal cover band, and that tutorial is note for note. 👌🏽 Congrats. The hardest Lynch cover I have ever done was his collaboration with MacAlpine, “The Vision”. I can play that entire song at tempo note for note. 💀
Jeez, Man, that’s awesome playing. Those sextuplets at the end of the solo are almost an Yngwie lick. George, at his best, was a wicked player by combining monster chops with a very tasty tone.
From another Newfoundlander, please do It's Not Love! great Dokken song but more than that, it's got some nearly impossible to decipher parts at the end that I don't think even the official tab book gets accurate. Even just that outro solo, as everything else has an accurate tab. Glad to see your channel keeping shred alive here, we really don't have that many guitarists in the province doing so.
Fantastic cover of a classic! Love your vids and really appreciate what you do. I'm making some big strides in my playing from tackling stuff that you are demonstrating perfectly with tabs.
Now we just need Dream Warriors and In My Dreams for the holy trifecta of Dokken! Lynch is my favourite guitarist out of the 80's! Will get to work on this one!
Could you please do Child In Time from Deep Purple anytime in the future? I'm not expecting this soon because of your wrist issues, and I respect that. Still, I hope you could cover this when you're fully healed! Thanks!
just commented the same thing lol, there are not only no fully accurate tabs for the outro solo in that song on the internet (that I can find), even the tab book misses the nuances. on top of that, there aren't even any cover videos on youtube where they attempt the outro solo, let alone play it correctly.
Thi is absolutely awesome. Thanks. Can I make a question? Can you tell me the picking technique for the ascendent run in the solo (2:34)? is: down hammer hammer in b string, and up down up in e string?
honestly you can play this all legato. I just watched the music video and several live perfomances and georges picks each string once and does hameroffs
excellent video as always, would you consider doing a tab lesson on stevie ray vaughans rude mood? i cant find any accurate full tabs and you are definitely the one i trust most with having accurate and easy to read tabs
i dont really kow if anyone one cares enough to notice but the main electric guitar that you use throught this video has the print greenscreened onto it because if you watch closely the floyed rose is moving but the print is staying in the same spot
Ah, so you'll be chroma keying in a Nagel girl for the upcoming CC DeVille cover. I was concerned where you'd be getting an appropriate BC Rich Gunslinger, but this video explains the plan. What's the process for selecting a song? Why this one (not that it isn't a great song) and not the more popular "In My Dreams" with that killer riff and epic weedly weedly weedly solo part? Remember in the video when they were playing in the rain? I also believe that video features the tiger stripe guitar you used here! Crazy what I remember from my youth. BTW, everyone should check out Lynch Mob's 2nd album (self-titled), it's great.
As much as a lynch fan as I am, I have not heard the second album! I’m sure it has to be great. This one was pretty high on the request list which surprised me because I agree with you.. in my dreams I assumed would be the popular one (or dream warriors) I hope this is received well because I’d love to do more dokken. For all tones and effects I use software called Amplitube Max. This software contains many virtual amps and pedals. The plug-ins are available to all my Patreon subscribers so you that if you have Amplitube Max yourself, you can get exactly the same tone as me at home. Great job this is one of my favorite Dokken songs, and thank you for doing the lesson in standard tuning. Wish more people would do that.
The tuning for the song is basically half way between standard and half step down. Thought the safest bet would be to round up!
