    Ironically, this device of the future was introduced at least 6 years ago :)

    I like the estetics of this unit. Makes it cool to measure. The application thing is not a problem and something im used to. And with my brain that rember numbers easy 2 minutes is a long time. Even without looking at the app i will remember the readings from the morning at bedtime. Looking for a new unit because I need to track my readings more. Got an unpleasant bump up in pressure the last 2 weeks. I can highly recommend running to decrease the blood pressure. I had 149/84 this morning and after running 123/77. And it will last many hours. I used to road bike but the weather has been very bad. Had to go back to running which is 6 years ago.

      Glad to see you're able to use exercise as a form of treatment for high blood pressure. Not only do you get the blood pressure benefits, but so many other health benefits too!

    I can't believe this doesn't have a local memory for past readings... How could they just omit such a basic and useful feature?

      @@DrZainMD I don't think that will happen. They generally use microcontrollers with no rewriteable EPROM. They do not need more advanced circuitry since this is extremely basic. I hope the next version improves.

    I am a petite woman, and I HATE the stiff cuff. (I tried it on a different Omron model) It just doesn't fit right on my arm.

  • @camgeiger
    @camgeiger 3 месяца назад

    I just got this and it works awesome!! The cuff is so amazingly easy to put on, and it works with the Samsung health app! I haven't even downloaded the Omron app because I track all of my health stuff with the Samsung app! Galaxy S23+. I've heard that the Omron app can be pretty buggy which is why I chose to not use it. Great video!

    The other advantage of using aaa rechargables is the device doesn't become useless when an internal battery degrades

      Also big plus for me. I hate all those devices with built in batteries that become useless as battery degrades. I'm not planning to use it often and I don't have to worry about battery losing charge and breakin when not used for months,

  • @benficaM8888
    @benficaM8888 Месяц назад +1

    built in batteries are lithium too. so they will expire, and when that happens, the entire machine goes bust. This is actually much more sustainable. Because you can always buy rechargeable AA battery

    First! Does the Omron app calculate average blood pressures or create graphs for you?

    • @DrZainMD
      @DrZainMD  Год назад +4

      Great question! Yes it does both - it makes graphs and calculates the average BP for you, which definitely helps when you share the results with your doctor. I should have mentioned that in the video!

  • @byronbev

    Hey Dr. out of all the smart BP machines which ones do u recommend?

    • @DrZainMD
      @DrZainMD  Год назад +3

      Personally I like the Withings BPM connect, but it has its flaws too. There aren’t a lot on ValidateBP.org so I’d probably say the one that fits your budget but is also validated. At the end of the day, if it’s accurate and you use it like your doctor recommends, that’s what matters the most

    • @neiltaylor513
