Ironically, this device of the future was introduced at least 6 years ago :)
I like the estetics of this unit. Makes it cool to measure. The application thing is not a problem and something im used to. And with my brain that rember numbers easy 2 minutes is a long time. Even without looking at the app i will remember the readings from the morning at bedtime. Looking for a new unit because I need to track my readings more. Got an unpleasant bump up in pressure the last 2 weeks. I can highly recommend running to decrease the blood pressure. I had 149/84 this morning and after running 123/77. And it will last many hours. I used to road bike but the weather has been very bad. Had to go back to running which is 6 years ago.
Glad to see you're able to use exercise as a form of treatment for high blood pressure. Not only do you get the blood pressure benefits, but so many other health benefits too!
Incredible well thought out and presented video thanks heaps
I sincerely appreciate your kind words. Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad that you liked it
This is nice! Def. Need to get one for the parentals and will recommend it to my patients. Great review! 🙌🏼
Thanks for watching! Hopefully it makes it easier for them to keep an eye on their pressures. Let me know how they like it!
great review, thanks. Bought the Omron.
Thanks for watching!
I can't believe this doesn't have a local memory for past readings... How could they just omit such a basic and useful feature?
There are definitely some features missing, hopefully they fix that
@@DrZainMD I don't think that will happen. They generally use microcontrollers with no rewriteable EPROM. They do not need more advanced circuitry since this is extremely basic. I hope the next version improves.
I’m sure there will be much better products on the market in a few years
Very nice review, one question tough.. is there an option in the app to program the device tot take your blood pressure automatically at a certain time interval? For example once every hour over one night? Thanks!
I have this one since 2020 and have enjoyed it 😊
Good to know! What do you like the most about it?
I am confused to by Omron EV verse 10serious , which one do you think is best ?
I am a petite woman, and I HATE the stiff cuff. (I tried it on a different Omron model) It just doesn't fit right on my arm.
I just got this and it works awesome!! The cuff is so amazingly easy to put on, and it works with the Samsung health app! I haven't even downloaded the Omron app because I track all of my health stuff with the Samsung app! Galaxy S23+. I've heard that the Omron app can be pretty buggy which is why I chose to not use it. Great video!
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you watching and giving your comments. I'm glad that it's easy for you to use. Nothing more frustrating than buggy software
A honest review...
The other advantage of using aaa rechargables is the device doesn't become useless when an internal battery degrades
You’re right, that’s definitely a plus
Also big plus for me. I hate all those devices with built in batteries that become useless as battery degrades. I'm not planning to use it often and I don't have to worry about battery losing charge and breakin when not used for months,
built in batteries are lithium too. so they will expire, and when that happens, the entire machine goes bust. This is actually much more sustainable. Because you can always buy rechargeable AA battery
I was thinking the same thing.
Make the velcro cuff last longer with a handkerchief in-between the flaps.
Does that affect how it functions for you?
Is it still made in japan? Or did they change it to made in china like most corporate companies do to make more profits and money gains unfortunately, im curious if they’re still made in japan, since japan is #1 leading electronics technologies research and quality…
First! Does the Omron app calculate average blood pressures or create graphs for you?
Great question! Yes it does both - it makes graphs and calculates the average BP for you, which definitely helps when you share the results with your doctor. I should have mentioned that in the video!
Hey Dr. out of all the smart BP machines which ones do u recommend?
Personally I like the Withings BPM connect, but it has its flaws too. There aren’t a lot on ValidateBP.org so I’d probably say the one that fits your budget but is also validated. At the end of the day, if it’s accurate and you use it like your doctor recommends, that’s what matters the most
@@DrZainMDI was interested in that one, but most reviews I came across was pretty negative on its accuracy. I like the design, but the results are what matter
Hi Doctor Zain is Omron Evolv better than Withings BPM Connect?
Great question! I have a video coming on that soon that compares the two. It depends on your needs
I bought one of these. It does not connect to my iPhone and their customer service at Omron is non existent.
Do you take medication to lower your bp? Because Im 21, and my readings are similar to you 3:18.
Those were test readings, and are a little on the higher side actually
Do you know if you can export the data to csv on PC?
Yup looks like from the omron app you can export to CSV!
i like it....no more cord for the cat to chew on
A benefit I didn’t think of - you’re so right though!
I don't see the link
Here you go - amzn.to/3Fu2WQu
Hey guys and doctor zain, i was planning to buy "WITHINGS BPM CONNECT"
i would like to know will that be good for my family❤.
Please awaiting for your advise or else suggest me anything better where money is not an issue considering health.
Health is wealth❤❤
Thanks doctor and frnds..
There are no rechargeable armbands out there. Plus to say an apple phone is more accurate is a lie
Not made for seniors
Seems so. Small display and can be complicated to use at times
It's too damned expensive. The less dependent on your phone, the better.
I respect that
Their app is hideous and mediocre at best.
Yeah it could be much better especially when you compare it to a lot of the health-focused apps out there
So u cant preprogram it and use it during sleep?
I don't think so. But you've got a great point - knowing our BP at night is pretty important, too. Hopefully it'll soon be mainstream to have devices that can do all of that
@@DrZainMD There are devices like this available already. They are called amulatory blood pressure monitors. Not crazy expensive thou/
