Girl I used to be your roommate! In that little 3 bedroom apartment in college. I'm looking to start my loc journey and randomly found your video. It was helpful, I'm going to start this weekend. I'm glad to see you're doing well in life! I just stopped by to say hey girl hey! ❤
Literally why I am starting my own locs, then when I do hear from a couple of them, I send them like 5 questions so I can make sure Im not making a mistake booking with them and they reply to 1 or 2 questions. Like honey, im black and I dont let just anybody touch my crown.
Starting my loc journey pretty soon and considered getting my hair professionally twisted. Your video encouraged me to do it myself. You make the process look so simple. THANK YOU!
I’m soooo happy I ran across your video!! I did another big chop last October. Then in March I decided to finally start locs. I paid $125 for coiled starters then $80 every 3 weeks. By the 4 retwist I was so over it. I didn’t like it at all. I did my research and understood the process but it just wasn’t for me. Now I want to try again but with 2 strands because my hair is longer. I’m so excited knowing I can follow your steps and do it myself!! I really appreciate your video!! Thanks ❤
This is my plan when my hair grows out.. I cut off ALL my hair off last August so I'm either going to do it for my birthday next month or when I hit my one year mark but I low-key can't wait.
Awe ! I know the feeling. I definitely appreciate the process a lot more this second time around. But it’s an ongoing journey! You can start documenting from where you are! ❤️
I started my first loc journey with a loctician (coils) but since I live in Japan now I can’t find anyone to do it fr so here I am second loc journey by myself and with 2 strand twits lol
I was trying to find someone to do mine but people are so inconsistent and they want money but can't communicate. My biggest issue was parting and my roots not being tight enough. Thanks for this hint for me to try it again.❤🙏🏾
Omggggg the same thing happened to me! I put a relaxer in my hair and it didn’t take.. I waited for a while, went blonde, then started locs again last night lol
Your hair is very beautiful and to answer your question about your hair flaking it’s bc you did 2 types of chemical process. The relaxer process and the lightening process, both of these process can be drying and weaken the hair. When you relax your hair it’s recommend that you don’t bleach/lighten it or at least wait 6 months bc if you do them too close together, then you will damage your hair.
You are so adorable and your hair is beautiful 😍 Your video was so pleasant to watch. I've been enjoying my locs for 2 years. Can't wait to see your journey ❤
This Is The Best Video i Seen Cause Im Starting Mine Now Just Needed a Idea And You Definitely Did Help Me So Much With This Video Thank You Cause My Hair The Same Length And I Wanna Start From There
I love it I would be doing mine the same as you 🤣I’d have to have a perfect grid my hair thin on top precise diamond or triangle parts aloe gel and 3 DAYS LATER ...yours are perfect and they are going to be beautiful I know I’ve watched enough yt videos gorgeous 💕thanks I see 👀me in you 😅🙏🏾
I just did mines yesterday and finished today. It’s funny cause I literally did the brick method on accident because my head ain’t the same on each side and my hair is thinner on one side lol so when I just watched your video I’m like Ok whew I’m ok 😂😂. Thanks for this video it answered my questions. Im so happy to have finally started being that I’ve been wanting to loc my hair for about 7 years now. 💓💓💓 Going to watch your updates next.
I’m so glad you put this video up, my hair is about your length and I plan on twisting mine but I will be doing a starter 3 strand and then making it into a 2 strand twist the rest of the way down. Hoping that will help keep my parts in place
@@DaishaView I think you should do a video talking about locs. What you like and dislike since you had locs already. Mistakes you made and won't do this time. The do's and don'ts. Especially if you have followers that are interested in locs.
Don’t be nervous! Just take your time. Your hair won’t loc up immediately either so if you a month out and you don’t like the sizing or something you can always re-do it!
If your scalp is flaking like crazy and you usually don't flake, it's probably build up and not dryness. A deep cleansing or clarifying shampoo that is pH balanced will help clear up the problem. Putting natural and or synthetic oils on top will make it worse.
It wasn’t build up because I don’t use a lot of products. But it was definitely irritated from me using so many chemicals back to back. Leaving it alone for a while and using sulfur 8 braid spray (contains salicylic acid) cleared it up. You are right oil did not help.
So locs can be done doing 2Strand . So do u continue as they grow or what. Just asking cause I think my hair will respond better with your method. But what a clear understanding. Please help. 🥴
Hey I’m new year and wanting to start. My two strand journey a couple of questions first do you use a locking gel while twisting also when it’s time to redo them how do you retwist do you take them done I don’t Really know the steps
Everything I used should be in the video. When retwisting you don’t take them down. You just retwist like regular starter locs. Always twist in the same direction when doing retwists. Be very gentle with washing during the first couple of months to make sure the twists don’t come apart
Girl I was your roommate in college when we stayed in that 3 bedroom apartment! I was randomly looking for videos because I'm ready to start my loc journey. And found yours! It's been about 10 years since that little apartment. I'm so glad to see you're doing well in life! Your video was really helpful. I usually don't leave comments, but I just had to say hey!!!
The frustration of stylist being ready to give you box braids and weave but when I’m ready to just start locs with two stand twists nobody is answering🫠or they charging an arm and a leg more than box braids. For two stand twists? Seriously! I guess it’s a sign to just do my own
Starting mines this weekend. I'm not paying nobody to do this for $100 when I can do it myself thanks for the video
Thinking about doing the same!!!
I said the same thing! My beautician charges anywhere from $300-$600 for them. Girl, bye! 🥴 I'll do it myself for a fraction of that! 🤣😂🤣
My friend paid 500 for hers, outrageous I’m doing my own
The only reason I want to pay is so I can have perfect sections
@@MsFox2u are they microlocs or sisterlocs? Quite expensive!!! I don't blame you one bit.

Small world
this is so cute
At this point imma just do it myself since I can’t hear back from the hair person who is supposed to do my hair 🤷🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Sis mine ain’t answering neither 🤣 that’s why I’m here
Why am I in the same exact situation😭😭

Oh my goodness. This must be a thing because mine ain’t either and I’m tired of waiting! 😂 thankful for this video tutorial for real!

@@DaishaView why can't you put the blue magic on your hair, why only on your scalp?
@@sadraolaedo4733 I want to moisturize my scalp without extra unneccessary build up in my hair. but its whatever you prefer

Thank you!
I’m glad you said you’ve had your hair loc’d before cuz I’m nervous what id do if I want to take them out!
You can cut your hair or comb them out! Combing them out takes a while but you can still retain your length that way
This exactly what I needed. Thankyou for this video!

I'm excited to follow your journey. You had locs before, is it difficult to maintain? Do you have to moisturize your hair daily?
Thank you! No this is the easiest hairstyle I’ve ever had. Moisturizer it daily with an aloe Vera/rose water spray mixture and oil for my scalp.

There’s a few methods you can use to retwist. I’m planning on using the “interlock” method, but there are others you can use as your hair grows out
You did a very nice job!🔥

do you need to trim your ends before locking?
