Looks tasy, but as a Frenchman, I gotta say your pronunciation of Crème de mûre is... Well... You gotta work on it haha ! :) Cheers ! (or as we say in France : "Santé !", which means "Health" cause we all know alcohol is good for your health).
Hi Anders, I recently saw your interview with Leandro, in which you said that all of your regulars are now on RUclips. Just wanted to say that I am happy to have become one of your regulars! Thank you for the great drinks, charisma, guidance, and positivity.
When I have made this drink, I start by muddling a few blackberries in the tin. I think it adds a freshness to the cocktail. This is a favorite summer drink at our house. Love your videos. Cheers!
I definitely like the Bees Knees, the Negroni, a Gin Rickey, the Pink Lady (which shares Gin and apple brandy as it's liquor), the intro to Aperol (which has a light pour of gin and Aperol is the main star), and the Aviation #1 (weird but great). That said, the Bramble beats all those drinks for me, but blackberries are one of my favorite fruits of all time so it has an unfair advantage. But if you're still looking for gin drinks definitely check some of those out if you haven't already.
I make this a lot, but with fresh blackberries instead of berry liqueur. My wife and I prefer the fresh fruit taste over the sweet syrupy liqueur. I also do riffs with raspberries or strawberries. And I prefer Beefeaters because it has that slight lemon-citrusy taste. And I switch bourbon for gin from time to time. Finally, I sometimes throw in a sprig of mint or basil to muddle with the berries. All of these variations just bring out the summer tastes that we love so much
You two are one of the all time great double acts. A real team. You complement each other so well. Oh, and the cocktails, presentation, info. All spot on. Delivered with charm warmth and sincerity. Thanks guys.
I started playing with cocktails at the bar I work at, and the bramble was the one of the first ones I found, it has been so insanely popular with our guests that it is now a permanent part of the menu. Although blackberry liqueur is nearly impossible the find (I live in rural Virginia) so I always substitute raspberry liqueur. It is definitely one of my favorite cocktails.
@@AndersErickson for sure. I’m glad to have met him. I was working in a different bar by then, but I remember the whole staff was crushed by his death, we served only his cocktails for a whole week to honour his legacy.
The bottle slide is BACK!!! Definitely missed seeing that! Recently I was wondering which Gin to use in a Bramble and you gave me a good idea with the Botanist 👌 Cheers guys!
You will be good as long as it's punchy enough to stand up to the creme de mure. I like using Tanqueray for it because it's a solid proof and is punchy.
Had a great Bramble at La Posada Hotel in Winslow Az. Just a short walk from that famous corner. Forgot about it until I was looking through your videos. After crafting home made crème de mure I’m enjoying another. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video. This has become one of my favorite drinks. I can’t find creme de mure locally so I made my own using a recipe from The Educated Barfly. The rich sweetness of the creme de mure balances the tartness of the gin and lemon juice so well. What a refreshing summer cocktail! Love your channel, thanks for all the instruction!
Yes yes yes yes!!!! I’m so glad you made this drink! This has been my favorite cocktail for years and I’ve introduced many people to it. They all have loved it!!
This sounds delicious! And as always Az is a delight to have on camera. Anders, I still want to see Az making the drink as you narrate and give instructions to her.
Just did tonight the recipe, I'm a Gin's haters and now I love it with this Recipe. I put just a little bit less simple syrup. I tried one also with Strawberry balsamic shrub instead of Creme de mure, very good.
Hey Anders, greetings from Turkey! Me and my gf are loving your videos and frankly you’ve been helping me facsinate her :) love your contents, keep smiling ☺️
Hello Anders, thanks for the channel. As a novice to cocktails as opposed to just adding “stuff” to coke, I enjoy the depth and breadth of wisdom you have to offer. Including the bottle slide. 😊
Stoked to see that you featured the Bramble! Love this drink, love your channel. Thanks for your work and sharing the knowledge. And a belated congratulations to the both of you on your engagement!
Soo, I was like I have to make this drink. I did not have the Combier Crème de Mûre, but looking through my selection I come across Bombay Bramble Gin. So, I used that and all other ingredients adding an ounce more simple syrup. Delicious!
Anders your videos are awesome. Today I bought some vermouth and campari for negronis and will have to add crème de mûre to try the Bramble, Thank you!
Not only have I never made a Bramble, I've never TASTED a Bramble and boy oh boy am I going to make one (or two) tonight! Another great episode. And congrats for adding a stairway to the cellar in your studio!
Just made up a new cocktail based on your Bramble. It’s a spin on the Fleur de Paradis, which uses Elderflower liqueur (St. Germaine) with grapefuit and lemon juices. I use the Chambord instead (which I bought for the first time to make the Bramble) and just lemon juice. 2 oz gin, 3/4 oz Chambord, 1/2 oz lemon juice, 1/2 oz simple syrup. Shake, and garnish with a blackberry or a raspberry. I call it the Frui de Paradis (Fruit of Paradise). Sooo good! And sooo pretty! A good alternative if you don’t want to bash a lot of crushed ice-my original reason. Thank you for your video which put me on to several wonderful things!
Ok saw this video Thursday and had all the ingredients (substituting Chambord). I made two Friday night and entertaining last night cranked out 10 of these. HUGE hit in the hot muggy weather. Thanks!
I'm so glad you did this cocktail one of my favorites for summer, done it a couple of times, even made my own home made Creme de Mure.... was not great 😅 but the drink was. thank you for your recipes, I love them.
Yeah, I had my high life in the 80-90th. I remember traveling to Paris, the popular aperitif was Champagne de Mure, where de Mure was at the bottom of the champagne glass. I love blackberries in any composition, Gin even more. Thanks Anders to bring up de Mure again to the drink😋
I have followed you and this channel for about two years. Here's what I see: 1. Beautiful Editing. I would recommend this channel for this alone as an example, even if you aren't that interested in cocktails. 2. Related: you keep it concise. Most of the other cocktail channels go on far too long. I'm not naming names. It's a cocktail for goodness sake, not an interpretation of Shakespeare. 3. Your online persona is perfect for the small doses you offer here. This is a compliment. You must be amazing as a bartender. 4. Az. Maybe she should rank higher.
Wanted to make this tonight, but I was out of gin!!! Used mezcal and lime juice instead. Calling it a Burnt Bramble. I think it’s pretty tasty. Thanks for making me buy crème de mure!
I have been watching this video over and over. And I finally got the spirits and made it for my family my first drink I made on my own from your channel and it was AMAZING ✨♥️ thank you 😊
I love me a Bramble! Using these specs and the ho-made crème de mur from Leandro has been the highlight of many a get-together this summer. Thanks for another delightful Friday video!
Looks great. Gonna try this weekend. My Total Wine in MI doesn't carry the Creme de Mure. Looks like that will be like a Blantons or Wellers treasure hunt to find. Thanks for the videos.
Look forward to the video every week and this delivered big! Great looking cocktail and the bottle slide.........So happy for its return!!! Congrats on another killer vid:)
Just for fun I made a 90's throwback cocktail while watching The Sandman. It was an Windex. It was actually pretty tasty with the fresh lemon juice and who doesn't love a blue drink? This one looks amazing! Wish I'd brought an empty suitcase on my recent trip to France!
I swear Anders drink video schedule and my bar menu were written by the same person and relabeled. Thanks for the boost that let's me know I'm headed in the right direction.
Excellent timing as it's a hot day and I have a package of blackberries I need to use! Only bummer is I for sure do not have any of the liqueur options so... A homemade syrup it is!
I had never tried blackberry liquor and this sounded like a great recipe. Was able to find the same bottle of Creme de mure that you had. This drink is FANTASTIC! If you find a bottle of Creme de mure around I highly recommend trying this recipe
I have tried a bramble before that wasn't my thing but as a drink it's gorgeous and the specs for this one are different so gotta try it this weekend 😂 Another great video 🍻
Nice video and great looking cocktail, Anders. I just bought a bottle of Giffard Crème de Mûre because I wanted to make a Bramble so this video is perfectly timed!
I tried it, I used a summer fruit liquor. It was nice but the liquor seemed to get trapped in the ice and didn’t come through. Perhaps I drank it too quickly. Love the channel, greetings from UK
Long time, no recipe. Try it - it's good!
My dad is not big on drinks but even he enjoys the Bramble which immediately makes it a 10/10 drink in my book.
I give it a 10/10 too - hard not to like such a tasty drink!
Looks tasy, but as a Frenchman, I gotta say your pronunciation of Crème de mûre is... Well... You gotta work on it haha ! :) Cheers ! (or as we say in France : "Santé !", which means "Health" cause we all know alcohol is good for your health).
I like how both the story it's origin and your motive for staying to his recipie are so wholesome.
May try it myself soon!
Crème de Mûre ????
like trying to find Bigfoot
Anybody know a source?

Thank you so much - I'm happy you're here! Cheers!
I'll definitely visit Ward Eight whenever I'm in Chicago, it's just I doubt I'll be across the pond anytime soon.
I think I am an irregulary. I haven't been to Chicago in years but never miss an episode of this!
I have to agree I love it when RUclips’rs get together
This was the featured cocktail at our wedding in 2017. Best day of my life: love, smiles, singing, dancing, and brambles all around!
When I have made this drink, I start by muddling a few blackberries in the tin. I think it adds a freshness to the cocktail. This is a favorite summer drink at our house. Love your videos. Cheers!
Same. I rarely have Creme de Mur at home. So I either use blackberry syrup. Which is fine but frsh blackberries are the best.
This is by far the best cocktail channel on youtube, the knowledge and editing is spot on. Cheers Anders
On par with Kevin Koss for me
You have no idea how much I appreciate this! I've been struggling to find decent gin cocktails for months. Thanks for this.
Hope you love this one as much as I do - Cheers!
try the pegu club

Happy Friday 😂

One of my favorite drinks in the summer
That's summer in a glass, sounds excellent and presents beautifully! Cheers!
That ring though 💍
This was one of the first cocktails I learned, from Dick himself in Soho, when he was still working in El Camion. He was such a wild character. Haha
Incredible - what an opportunity! I would've loved to have met the man. Cheers David!

I love gin. Tonight I’m drinking a French 75 but will give this a try sometime. Looks cold and refreshing.
Best cocktail channel! Very fun to watch but not filled with gimmicks or click bait.
Good to see the bottle slide back! I know I missed it, just not how much I missed it...
This sounds delicious! And as always Az is a delight to have on camera. Anders, I still want to see Az making the drink as you narrate and give instructions to her.
Looks tasty! I didn’t know you had steps behind the bar…😉 Happy Friday!
This might make me start drinking gin again. Thanks for broadening my tastes.
Love that you brought an opinion of the 80s cocktails - maybe a mini-series on 20th century cocktails by decade is on the cards?
Just did tonight the recipe, I'm a Gin's haters and now I love it with this Recipe. I put just a little bit less simple syrup. I tried one also with Strawberry balsamic shrub instead of Creme de mure, very good.
One special mention to Az's reaction!!

When its blackberry season qhere i am, as it is now, i aleays muddle three blackberries into the first part before shaking , as well. Its very good!
Dig that new sign-off music. Started involuntarily bobbing my head.
Hello Anders, thanks for the channel. As a novice to cocktails as opposed to just adding “stuff” to coke, I enjoy the depth and breadth of wisdom you have to offer. Including the bottle slide. 😊
Made it with fresh blackberries from wild bush. it was amazing.
Love a bramble! Happy Friday Anders!

What a man of culture.
Dang, that’s a pretty cocktail! ✨

Yum this sounds delicious !!!!
TO THE BAR! 🥃

Another great drink receipt delivered with energy and humor. Tell Oz that I enjoyed her J cuts in the editing. Nice touch.

Beautiful cocktail
my 'favorite take' on a youtube craft cocktail video is the original Anders Erickson..

Your channel (and recipes) are growing on me. This one is a must-try! Your history short is great. I'll have await a warmer day...
Love a Gin Bramble. Going to pick some wild Scottish Brambles tomorrow, bottle of Edinburgh Gin ready and waiting 👍🏻
So this is right up my alley. Lemon, gin, and fruit. I will make this if I ever find the Combier Crème de Mûre.
My wife hates gin... but im still making this for her.. i bet she will love it lol- Thanks as always! Cheers!
I do love the Bramble. 🍹

Nice! Just made this with 'creme de cassis' instead of mure. It's lovely 😋
I'm so glad you did this cocktail one of my favorites for summer, done it a couple of times, even made my own home made Creme de Mure.... was not great 😅 but the drink was. thank you for your recipes, I love them.
Just picked up some Clear Creek Loganberry Liqueur -- close enough methinks and this sounds like the perfect drink to crack it open for!
My kind of pink cocktail, love it!
Mudslide is a 80’s drink that gets little respect, but I think it’s still a fun drink today

I love everything Combier makes. The orange is the best triple sec. Hands down.
Making this tonight for dinner. Not for dinner, we will eat regular food but we'll make this to go with dinner. Thanks!
Currently working at a bar in the UK, my boss (who played a large role in training me) was trained by Dick Bradsell.
I love this drink! I also love the Dramble, which replaces the gin with whiskey.
Whiskey with blackberry hurts my soul on some level.
@@ronswansonsalterego8533 then try it with creme de cassis!

Sweet. Did not know how to use the black berries from the garden this year but went for a elderflower tonic, garnished with bb's and Gin. Fresh, good.
