I agree with your sentiment but it’s not a “hate crime”. You can’t be a spouse of a victim and killed a spouse after having three kids with her and call it a hate crime. Don’t use the words wrongly like this and it has nothing to do with a hate crime. Look up the actual hate crimes (school shootings for example), nothing like this. He killed a spouse not some stranger off the street or strangers kids based on race. Hate crime is a crime committed by the perpetrator usually a stranger, out of hate towards the victim due to race or certain social group.

This guy's convoluted story is bizarre. Okay first of all, why would he let a stranger up stairs when his wife is in the bathtub?
And then he stated that he hears a struggle upstairs. And when goes upstairs, he sees this "Juan", strangling his wife while she's in the bathtub. And then Juan pulls out a knife and points it at the husband and he just stands there and let this guy strangle his wife? That doesn't make any sense.
And then he states that he was forced to carry the body and put it in a car and drive around with Juan?
Oh sure, buddy, and we believe that story.
