Burying an AK-47 for a Month?!?

- You asked for it, so here it is! We take the full auto AKG-47 and bury it for a month, just to see how hard it is to get functional after we dig it back up and assess the damage. I was kind of surprised by this one myself!

About Me
My name is Brandon Herrera. I'm the owner and operator of The AK Guy Inc, a 07 Firearm Manufacturer based out of Fayetteville, NC. I also co-own Stark Media Group, and designed the rifle known as the AK-50.
I've started to dedicate this RUclips channel above all to have fun, but also as a way to document my entrepreneurial journey for the next few years as I try to grow my companies. Hopefully, people can learn from my example, successes, and failures.
Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with it so far, and I hope it's just as fun to follow along!

Brandon Herrera do your akgs take magpul or just x tech magazines?
They should take any standard 7.62 AK magazine, but we sell them with XTech's
Can you sell full auto akg-47 to someone with a SOT license?
CHEAP TECH With a law letter, yes
Citizen 1 I mean...yeah we could do that 🧐
Not a viable test, you didn’t dig the hole with the AK.
swankHD 😂
And he did use it as a baseball bat for the spider
I was shooting yesterday and legit needed to use my ak as a hammer to drive a stake into the ground lol
Seriously tho, I've heared the storis from guys that came back from army (Russian and Ukrainian) and they say some of the AK's might be as old as shit and being used as a paddle and still work for fuck's sake
That’s a challenge now
I am a self proclaimed spider expert and you definitely should have done a full auto mag dump on that spider
BECAUSE FUCK THAT SPIDER!!! 🤣
Yeet the hole gun after you mag dump it

He got the 10k likes, spider eaten time!
Because Fuck that 8 leged hary bitch
What if you shot it and spiders flew out
I'm normally not afraid of spiders but damm if that would happen to me I'll would throw that thing straight in a fire and run like hell
If my AK shot spiders, I'd never be worried about home invaders.
@@felix_0771 The AK would still shoot after you throw it in a fire anyway
@@Cainus44 I never said that it wouldn't
Hell naw.
My aunts husband was Marine Recon in Vietnam. He told me they had an AK in a foot locker that sat there for months during the monsoon season and rusted to hell. He said they used their foot to break the bolt loose and after a couple of ejection failures it started working without issues.
@Jurtez Lupa Far more strange that you think anyone gives a shit what you think
@Jurtez Lupa I said ejection failures not failure to fire there is a big difference between the two. Click Bang No Cycle vs Click...crickets which in fact creates a dangerous situation as the firing pin is either siezed but no longer has a mechanical restraint and could set loose discharging the firearm at any time. Or it in fact did strike the primer which can always be a potentially dangerous. The weapon fired just fine, but would not extract the case my best guess being a lil corrosion was causing the malfunction. And after a few rounds and maybe some gun lube that weapon was rocking and rolling.
Build to last. Mud, dirt, rust, frost, sand, water, food or black powder can't stop a well build AK. Mikhail Kalashnikov gave a beautiful gift too the world.
Imagine someone is just walking around with a metal detector and finds a usable AK-47 underground.
You can go ahead and take the word “ usable “ out of that comment . It goes without saying 😂😂
Not even just an ak-47 but a FULLY AUTOMATIC ak-47
@@noska6877 Taking possession of it would be illegal... So I'd be singing "Happy birthday to me" on my way to dispose of it in accordance with Federal and local statutes, because I am a law abiding citizen. The fact that I would be singing happy birthday is completely irrelevant.

Brandon: *Burries his ak in dirt*
Also Brandon: "Dont wanna scrap the wood"
Yup, this is definitely filmed in Fayetteville, NC. There is that red clay dirt that almost nothing will grow in, unless you don’t want it to grow.
And true to Fayetteville tradition there's a bunch of random old tires!
I wish you would have buried an AR of the similar quality next to the AK just to show the difference. I'm an AR fan, but it would have been sweet to prove that the AK kicks the ARs ass in this test.
I think they'd both be fine minus minor corrosion.
Yeah the AR being a pretty closed system would stand a good chance. It would be interesting to see though
Why do you think the AR wouldn't be just as fine if not better? The AR is more sealed and the polymer furniture should survive better than wood. Close the dust cover and she's basically immune.
@@demomanchaos coz ar is shit
@@demomanchaos ARs are pretty well sealed, but I don't think they're actually watertight. If it gets damp it could rust like the AK did, and with the tighter clearances that could cause it to sieze.

Second round: work's like it's brand new.
Now lets see ya toss that ak in a lake for a month and see if it fires.
you didn't do the grand theft somalia test: full auto while being pushed around in a wheel barrel

Also love the bloopers
I only own AR’s but because of your vids I’m grabbing myself an AK as soon as I can find one I like during this COVID lockdown.
My grandfather found ak that half buried in the mud for over 3 months, the wooden things already rotten and the barrel rusted. I don't know whether it's akm or second generation of ak47 but he said the tip of the barrel is corrode half way, so whether akm with normal condition tip or ak 47 with corrode tip. But one thing that I concern the rounds is still inside the mag and the mag are stick with the ak for 3 months. And he tested and you know ak are ak it's still cycle, work perfectly fine at full auto and still accurate (for an ak). It's just one of his job to collect the leftovers military stuff on the battlefield after the conflict. Because at that time after the conflict all the soldiers whether it's army or special forces that still alive, healthy and not disabled or injured spouse to collect all the remaining military grade stuff on the battlefield, including foods, weapons, uniform, and others.
11:24 roflmao... dat mane tho... Plus that brass bandit shirt is freakn hilarious. I have to get one myself. I for one cannot WAIT for your long range AK vid. I regularly shot my 7.62 at 300 yards with iron sights. No one believes me till I start ringing the gong. I was able to surprise an entire ranger squad fresh back from Afghanistan at a 3 gun match. First words out of their mouth were "Oh God, just don't shoot over the berm Mr. AK with iron sights". I smiled, nodded in agreement, shouldered the weapon and hit all 5 shots on the gong at 250. Their reaction was priceless. All of them gasped and gave a collected "WTF". I didn't let them know it but as a civi I beemed with excitement and happiness. I would say its rather difficult for a civilian to impress a full squad of rangers that just got back from war. One of the more proudest moments in my life.
Definitely looking forward to the AK cleaning video and AK74 in 224 valkyrie series!! Loving all the content Brandon!
Also thanks for the 10 second month lol. I thought I was going to have to wait lmao

There's a story of a Russian solider that had found a AK-47 under a dead solider that had been there for several weeks. After a dunk in a puddle and a fresh bullet cycled into the chamber, it still fired.
Awesome video it was very interesting to see that you can treath these ak's like a dirty b**** and after all it will work perfectly fine.
Do one year. Then see if you can repair the bad parts
When you accidentally leave your ak in the ground for a month
When he said "We are going to do a detailed AK cleaning video" I expected him to throw the liquid content of an abandoned metal barrel from out on the table with the parts and then some beer and vodka just as God intended.

It has. Wars with random food and funny items, an attempted full auto meltdown, and now this
