I was so close to buying an Android radio to replace the functioning unit in the 2002 Lexus my daughter just gave me. Looked up this video and am so glad I found it. Thanks.
I let a "YOOOOHOHO" out after hearing that second of Head Over Heels since I'm looking info about this adapter for my 2001 ZX2, and that song was the first one I heard on it's radio the day I brought it home... God, I love that car.
Awesome dude. I just ordered this cassette adapter for my "new" to me 2008 Lexus Rx400h which comes with a Mark Levinson audio system with cd/dvd and cassette player. For some reason it has bluetooth for phone calls only but no streaming feature which makes this cassette adapter a great gadget 🙂
I have to use one of those fm transmitters on My 2007 Audi a4 I wish it had a cassette deck tbh lol. It has Bluetooth for calls, a built in phone charger/holder in the arm rest (only fora blackberry lol) a six disc changer cd player, and an ancient gps that hasn’t been updated since 2010
If I was still driving my 1993 Ford Taurus from high school, you can bet that thing would come in handy for me. Besides Pandora, I have several other Internet radio and music streaming apps on my phone that I would imagine would also work with a cassette adapter.
Cool. You could probably make your own from bluetooth headphones and one of those cheap wired cd-tape converters. If you have these things sitting there and you're bored. For the commute, the store bought unit would probably be less frustrating.
Did that few times, im trying to find some bt headphones that have really small PCB So i can glue it inside of the cassette :D And add thin wires with USB So it can be charged while playing music. I dont really like that microusb solution..
Great review. I just ordered one for my Honda Odyssey. I don’t want to put much money into it and this seems like a good alternative to replacing head unit.
Anyone know why my cassette adaptor shuts off on it just started doing it and now it won’t connect again it was perfectly fine before. It doesn’t have the eject problem, and I have the same one as in this video except my has a tail that you press to connect
Does it turn off automatically after not in use or you have to eject it to turn off every time you park your car. Otherwise will remain on and drain the battery overnight and will need to be recharged next day before use
Just ordered one for my 2000 jaguar xkr. Yes it has a 10 cd multi changer in the boot or trunk for you Americans lol but who buys cds anymore. Soon il be able to listen yo my Spotify 😊 thanks for the simple demo n loved how us men just brush away instructions 😂
Evidently won't work with an auto reverse tape player. It just tries to play both sides and kicks it back out. Dammit, I wanted to really try this thing. Mines a GM as well.
I have 2 vehicles. One got the whole stereo and backup camera upgrade. The other I have one of these cassette things. Yes, the upgrade was 1k like this guy says. But I'm totally happy with it. My other car has the cassette and you do have to constantly have to be charging it. And it's annoying when it dies because you feel like something precious has been taken from you lol
It does not. Pressing the buttons on ur car stereo will only result in „skipping“ for a bit meaning ur music stops for like 5 seconds then continues playing the same song u were listening to so no song change has to be done on the phone
Is the cassette’s gears loud when putting it in? I heard other brands make a annoying noise when the gears inside the cassette move when not playing music.
You an get those wireless transmitters that plug into your cigarette lighter and broadcast to a certain radio frequency on your radio without a cd/audio input/bluetooth/usb port etc and play from your device. It doesn't sound so good though.
I specifically wanted a cassette adapter. Super pleased with it. Every day to work and back. Everyone has there own opinion of course. Im happy with my decision.
I think it depends on the amp coming from the cassette player. I need to crank the volume pretty high to get it loud. But radio needs to be half as much. I think its a function of the cassette player and not the bluetooth piece. Id have to test it with a normal cassette to prove it tho. For the 20$ im very pleased and content
@@thousanddollarcarguy I might give it a shot. Back in the day they had "head cleaners" for the cassette player. I'm no expert but maybe a q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol could clean it. (ask an expert on this one) So when it works does a ribbon of tape/metal continually glide across the cassette player head or is it fixed?
Eh idk what aftermarket Radio you looking at but Ik there a radio at walmart or Amazon for 40$ single den then about 10-15$ for a dash kit then your done now I’ll understand not knowing how to put the radio in for a double den and I can see why it is 100-500$ for one then 10-15$ for dash kit then pay someone to do it but also hered something about the double den where I don’t want to buy
@ricky302v8 in another comment he said he's been using it for about 6 months without charging it so I think the cogs charge the battery like one of those hand crank flashlights.
These companies must make a ton of money now with all those people with older cars and new phones without headphone jack. I use to use a cassette to 3.5mm headphone jack then I got a brand new Samsung s22 ultra with no jack. They sell aux to USB C cable but the connection gets finicky and will lose connection often.
It's just the convenience of not having to plug anything in and having it automatically connect when you turn the car on. Otherwise the aux cable works fine.
@@juandontworryaboutit4150 i still never tried the cd. But the adapter is missing some base. Like it doesnt have the umph that the stock headunit has. Still great for the price tho

Sorry it didnt work out. Take advantage of amazons return policy
Pull the tape apart and remove the gears. The deck is sensing too much resistance and thinks it the end of the tape.
