    I love the GL20, I have two pair, so I'm going to try GL30. I prefer open sound and to have it in an IEM is great. Thank you for your review.

    Haha I tried to EQ the EW200 to this tuning and it sounded like the vocals were coming from inside my head. Most of the bass seemed to be coming from slightly behind me. Overall it made the mids and treble sound thin. It's interesting how the lack of bass revealed more details. Fun EQ to keep in the pocket, but definitely wildly deviant from the trending HRTF targets. Was wondering what if you've tried EQing other IEMs to the GL30.

    Would I be better off getting this or a headphone at the same price ?

    They are massive..🥺🤯.
    I'd stick with Headphones at that size, something like the Hifiman Sundara which is $350 instead of the $760 for the GL30.... Just my 2¢😊
    I think my ears would get sore wearing those.
    How long could you wear them for @audiolevels ?

      Strangley no issues with comfort so a few hours at a time is good. The cable and that weird hook takes a lot of the strain
      Its more moving around will break the seal.

    Welcome back. Great video. Huge respect to Goldplanar for sending your more review earphones (IEMs?) after you've heavily criticized them in the past. I wonder if you'd consider giving me some advice. I have never owned (or even listened to) any planar magnetic IEMs or headphones. I do appreciate great audio and I have three pairs of Focal headphones (Clear OG, which I love, Stellia, which I appreciate, and the Bathys, which I find myself using a majority of the time these days, both wired and Bluetooth). I don't want to spend a lot of money on new headphones because frankly I don't have it in the budget right now (just spent a fortune getting a set of perfect teeth installed). Is there any decent, good bang for my buck planar headphone you'd recommend if I wanted to spend less than $300?

      @@ZEMIPREAUDIO thank you for the suggestions. I don’t really trust KZ products, mainly because they’ve been caught lying about their drivers. I suppose that wouldn’t be an issue with a planar though. The GL20 looks interesting (well, it looks exactly like the GL30 tbh, but it costs much less).

      I'd also recommend a NiceHCK F1 Pro or some variant of the Shuoer S12.
      Just a word of advice from my personal experience:
      I have the OG 7Hz Timeless and the goodness of its sound of that earphone is heavily dependent on the fit, eartips and the cable - every single factor is able to significantly change certain acoustic attributes during listening, and I'm not even driving it from a proper Dac-Amp. So I assume that the other Planars would also be sensitive to the audio chain - if you get a planar, try it with as many accessories as you possibly can.
      I love my Timeless, and I hope you find enjoyment in whatever you purchase too....

    Sorry for the very long comment below. Please read only if you have the time.
    I appreciate the video and your impressions more than anything. Thanks heaps! I don't care about how an earphone 'graphs' if it still sounds good. My top priority for an earphone is soundstage and bass. I don't mind the design. I can live with it.
    There were 3 things I wanted your personal opinion on.
    Does it have a sub-bass which goes low and has great texture or is it mid-bass focused?
    Have you tried any of the other filters to see if it improves the bass or stage?
    By a natural presentation do you mean the timbre (like the instruments sound life-like) or that the tuning is neutral without any emphasis on any one frequency?

    Vs Prestige LTD? 🤔

    • @AudioLevels
      @AudioLevels  Год назад +2

      No point really. The prestige ltd are completley different. Especially in use case, for most people the GL30 wont even be a starter due to its design.

    What is the isolation for these like?
    I have been looking for an IEM or on ear that lets me hear the outside world (like the Audeze iSINEs). I have been using a Yuin g1a and koss ksc 75 for this purpose so far. Will these serve that purpose. Any other suggestions would be great too. Thanks for the great review!

      it could be technicaly superb but the tunnnig is everything and from the previous models the Goldplanar was weak in that department.

    • @1fareast14

      I'd chalk that up to the different form factor, flatheads don't graph the same as iems

      @AudioLevels  Год назад +1

      Id be curious more on the methodology of measuring such an awkward earphone to a traditional IEM standard.

    Gold Plannar GL30 vs ThieAudio Prestige LTD? If I only get 1, which one would you suggest?

    • @AudioLevels
      @AudioLevels  Год назад +2

      Think really hard about whether you can live with this design. Whether a headphone may be better for you. The sound is vastly different. One not better than the other but the external factors beyond just sound are the main considerations at play on this one.
