He transforms it in 20 minutes, in real time, no cuts, narrated with tips on the proper technique. As someone whose collecting philosophy is that figures should be transformed often, and the process should be enjoyable I almost didn't get this figure (until I saw the tutorial I linked). I just transformed it for the first time and it is now my favorite figure in my collection. I hope Studio 1 sells a ton of them so that they will make more products, because any company that can make Unicron with NO KIBBLE is a company I want to see more from.
Just got myself one of these bad boys and your transformation video was absolutely instrumental in making the transformation process as painless as possible. One thing though. Are the horns on planet mode supposed to tab or lock in place? They simply won't go in and I'm afraid I'll break something by forcing them. Stress marks have developed on the blue plates from me pressing too hard.
Sorry for the late reply. The little tab that are connected to the horns do lock in place, but the horns obviously still articulate. Hope that helps
@@Paik4Life Thanks for the reply! Sadly, the blue tabs on mine seem to be extremely large and offer no room or clearance for the panel that the horns are on to pass. No matter how much I try, they simply won't tab in. Maybe some sanding might help?

@@Paik4Life I really appreciate the help! Here is the blue tab I'm talking about. I assume that this is what locks the horn in place, because there's no other locking mechanism. I've pushed so hard, it's caused stress marks... imgur.com/a/CYWrYKR
@@Actar_Raikit Ah, okay. You do have to apply some good pressure and the plastic might flex a bit until it is cleared, but if you're pressing hard and it isn't going it, then yes, you could very carefully sand/file it down. Good luck!

Transformation question, but first, thanks for this, Paik4Life!!! So there's an additional point of articulation I noticed in the shoulders: if you extend the metal joints and hold them stationary, the shoulder piece can slide up and down. The question is which one, higher or lower position, is the correct one for planet mode…I *think* it’s the higher one, but I have to try transforming it again.
Bruhhhhhhh. Why you asking me about a transformation from so long ago.....If I'm not feeling lazy, I'll look into it for you and get back to you, but I'm not gonna lie, don't hold your breath on that. @@Paik4Life 😂 no worries! Just asked in case you already knew. I just transformed it and it seems to be that the higher shoulder position is for planet, and lower for bot. I don't see this in TMan978’s video either. So, in case it's useful for anyone, this late in the game, hahaha…
I was frustrated with the knee caps especially. But I’ve also missed the arms connecting to the crotch part, I’ll try the transformation again some time. The included paperwork is just useless and I see that there are two versions of this thing. Mine does not have any pictures of the figure on the outer box

@@Paik4Life his big blueish tabs to lock the 'ball' (ie. planet) mode were not working, had trouble with handling the toy, and the rings due to the spikes (ie. plugging things in/out with spikes is painful, esp. if locking in very tight, so getting hips out of planet and into robot mode were too stiff for him in combo) - he thought it looked great, but hated transforming it, and some bits broke on his too.
@@Paik4Life I agree with you, he is a most impressive Transformer, one of the best I've ever seen. I thought that nothing would surpass the Armada Unicron when it came out, but this one blows that folded up robot of a planet out of the water.

Wow, that was a long and detailed review - and it only took you 26 minutes and 50 seconds to transform this figure from a robot to a planet! That was quite impressive. I am surprised that you bothered to transform it both ways during one review, without cutting any phases away. After transforming my own figure back and forth with much struggle, this was truly a joy to watch.
I am confused about the box you showed, though. Mine has those funny characters as well, but aligned differently. The background is green instead of blue, and the name of the figure as well as the manufacturer is completely missing - instead, the only text in the box is "Merry Christmas". Plus, are no pictures on the backside. The collector's card was not included in the box, either (which is not really a loss at all).
Thanks for the kind words. I laughed at the “only took you 26 minutes.” You’re probably new here, but I ALWAYS show transformation both ways (including third or combined modes) and I always start with how the figure comes packaged. The reason being is that a lot of people come for help transforming and there are often small details that you only see going one direction. As for the the packaging, he was released with several versions of packaging so it’s not a surprise yours was different. It was predominantly to avoid any legal issues with Takara Tomy/Hasbro.
