Awesome Awesome Awesome, thank You for this easy to understand tutorial. The link to Brenda Meyers Sidestreet Hat costs $3.99. This video will make doing my Knitted Knockers so much easier. You are a blessing Scarlett. Thank You.

Love this bind off. Few things I've found helpful. 1 make sure you place the stitches back on without twisting or flipping them. They should match direction of the previous stitches done on pegs 1-18. 2. Tighten the stitches you moved that are on the top starting with peg 19 and going to tail end of yarn on peg 1. 3. Pull the yarn tail tight after each time you work it knit wise or purl wise. 4: Do not yank on yarn tail when you take sock off loom.

So do you do a double wedge toe and then Kitchener cast off or do you just do the cast off without a toe?

Can you tell me other ways to cast off at the tow of a sock besides the Kirchner method or the drawstring? You mentioned in your video that there are other ways.

Can you also use double pointed needles for the Kitchener bind off? Or is taking off one side & putting on the other side easier to do?

+Carolyn Lewis Well here is the best way to look at that. This method you only move half the stitches. When you use double points you have to move all the stitches. I personally find this method easier. But is really is all a matter of preference. Some like this method and some like the needle method. My suggestion is to give it a try.

How do you avoid "ears" at the corners of your cast off?

    • @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse

When you start to do the weave do it a few times take the stitches off the woven part and tight that should remove the starter ear, when finish pull a little and that will tighten the last ear.

Thanks for this!! I'm curious -- how long is the tail you're weaving with?

This bind off is not invisible. I followed all of the instructions and there are gaping holes in my sock. There's no way to tighten the stitches because the bind off creates knots not stitches. Extremely disappointing.

You can tighten the stitches once off the loom if your stitches look loose, I’ve done it numerous times now, it’s just a tad tedious is all. But you definitely get an invisible stitch once done correctly.

after you knit the bottom loop of the first peg,.then you knit the top loop then it looks like you put the needle threw the loop that knitting the top peg makes but you say nothing about it could you please explain what your are doing there (I've watched the whole video and you do it several times but your don't say exactly what you're doing there. thank you

+Belladonna Mini pull yarn knit wise (from top down) bottom loop, then top on first. Then bring the tail purl wise on top loop peg 2 (bottom up), then bring yarn purl wise through bottom stitch on 1st peg. Repeat over next 2 pegs until complete.

is this the ¼" or 3/8" loom?

  • @debras2845

still would like to know about doing a video and pattern but you are probably using sock yarn.

+debra s Actually the yarn in the video was Lions Brand Heartland Yarn and not a sock yarn and it works up well as a sock. So a worsted yarn will work. I am planning on putting out a book of fine gauge patterns next week for this loom and the sock loom that is available in CinDwood looms. It will have 8 patterns with video tutorials included for $16, it will be sold on CinDwood Loom website, ravelry, my webpage, and amazon for kindle or paperback version.
