@@ElizabethHughes-so5rz just got your message Elizabeth (my middle name is Elizabeth) & I'm in the north east of England, about 20 miles south of Newcastle. My life long best friend lives in Aberdeen, quite a few coincident's here, anyway nice to meet a true Waylon fan. I will be 80 at the end of this month. I have only known Waylon for the last five years. My husband passed away five years ago & it was then when I got onto U-Tube & found all these wonderful American country songs. When I heard Waylon I just fell in love with him, not just his voice but the man himself, I loved his rugged looks, that wonderful smile, sense of humour just everything about him. Loved him performing in his younger years, he looked so well dressed ' tidy hair then. I think it was after that terrible plane crash when he lost Buddy Holly & he blamed himself for that remark about the plane crashing (but was meant as a joke) he took to drugs. But honestly I have videos of him singing with Willie & Leon (all high as kites) but great voices & great entertainment. I love watching & listening to him at all stages of his life, just glad he met Jessie who helped him come clean. Although he took those drugs it never seemed to affect his awesome voice. Honestly Elizabeth if I'm ever feeling a bit down I just put Waylon on & I feel a lot better, ha,ha, strange. I had a quick listen to Mickey Flavin & I like his song & his good voice. But no one can beat the sex appeal of Waylon. Nice to have met you Elizabeth, take care, will ttyl. 😄❤
@ElizabethHughes-so5rz Good morning Elizabeth, I sent you a message last night explaining all about me, it's before the one about Mick Flavin, if you look in your comments you should see it, if not I will repeat it all later. Let me know if you find it. 😄❤
@ElizabethHughes-so5rz Hello again Elizabeth, I was so sad to hear about your husband but try not to feel so guilty, I'm sure he wouldn't want you to, you have done all you can putting him in a good place where they can look after him. I know it's a terrible thing watching them deteriorate when you can't help them. I was married to Barry for 59 years & at the age of 74 he started suffering with polymiasotis ( think I've spelt that wrong) but is a muscle weakening disease which was caused by cancer of the colon which was weakening his immune system. He spent two years going through chemo & radiotherapy, but it did no good. I looked after him at home 24/7 with nurses calling in everyday, until it worsened. He then went into our local hospital & the second week in there caught pneumonia which killed him. I found I could cope with everything at the time, and you try to live with it, but I get moments now where I seem to be grieving even worse. I now have osteoarthritis in all my joints, two replacement knees & carpel tunnel syndrome in my left hand which was operated on 3 months ago. Next Thursday I will be going to hospital to have 2 steroid injections into my lower back, I'm just hoping this will help me to get about better( honestly Elizabeth I feel like laughing writing all this down, ha,ha,). but there you go, such is life. I'm sorry to hear about your illness's too, you must take care & put yourself first. I have my daughter living with me, which is a great help, she moved in after we lost Barry. I must tell you this before I go. My maiden name was Dinneen & I remember my father telling me, there was a Dinneen Castle in Ireland, I was wondering if you had heard of it !!!!. Anyway Elizabeth I' m going to have my tea now & then going on U-Tube, where Waylon will be my top priority... lol... Thank goodness they're keeping him & his music alive it certainly helps keep me alive..lol.. Look forward to hearing from you soon & do take care. 😄❤
