I was planning to build a M3 this year, but after I watched your video I think I need to take more time to think about it. To be honest, everything is almost perfect for me, but I really dislike the huge screen. Dude, it’s a sport car, M sport, built for racing, why we need a huge screen which is like Mercedes’ E class? I don’t know what is BMW doing, I feel like BMW doesn’t know what customers exactly want. I think M sport car need more physical buttons, not the more tech the better. If it is 3 series, I’ll take it, but remember dude, it’s M3, it’s built diff.
Lots of people share this sentiment, and we totally understand. However, in our opinion, the M3 has always been on the cutting edge of both performance and general automotive technology, and this is what that looks like in today's world. I personally love the screen in M cars. There's so much new-age feeling tech to play with, but when you want to, you can always turn the center screen off, leave your important performance gauges in the gauge cluster and do what an M3 is built to do: drive! We strongly encourage everyone to try M iDrive 8 in person; when you do, it's hard not to like it.
They added the big arse screen to the 2 series and new M2 now as well, so there’s no real “sports car first” options on the menu. So glad I grabbed a F87 CS. Clean interior, just enough luxury to be a daily, and easy on the eyes.

Is there a way at all to get idrive 7 on the 2023 m3? I really liked the system in my 2020 330i and it was a main point that I wanted/liked - this, I really don't like tbqh :\
No, all 2023 and onward M3's will come with iDrive 8. If door count isn't important, you can opt for the M4 which will continue with iDrive 7 for the 23 model year. Although we'd at least recommend trying iDrive 8 in person before making that choice, as many people who are initially against warm up to it quickly once interacting with it.
I prefer the old g80 dashboard honestly this just look like a plain whole screen . BMW should’ve done it better and not follow Mercedes with having a whole dashboard screen
A visit to my local BMW dealership today to view my new M3 that I ordered 10 months ago arrived late and discovered the new dash Id8 which I was not aware of with the latest changes. Still have not decided whether to take the car or not as the long ipad look does not really appeal to me. It may grow on me later on but for now I plan not to take the late delivery of the car just yet ( few days to think about ) and without any obligation which was good from the BMW dealership. What do you guys think any suggestions and will faults occur like blackouts on iPads, mobiles etc ? Many thanks!
I wouldn't let the screen deter you! The more you use it, the more you'll like it. I would ask your dealership if you can spend some time with the car to get a feel for it to inform your decision. I wouldn't expect any faults or issues with the screen. We haven't seen any yet, and historically, the iDrive systems are pretty robust and don't give people many problems at all, from a durability and reliability standpoint.
Agreed. I ordered one and now I'm distraught. The video doesn't even show the worst angle from the right where you can see the stupid kickstand. It looks like an iPad bolted to an IKEA desk. Terrible.
@@playnevergrind 100% that bracket stand holder behind the long iPad dash really looks odd. In the end the car got sold just yesterday to another customer with the maximum specifications built in the car. Apart from the dashboard the car does look awesome in sky scraper grey !
We're big fan's of the F8x cluster as well, it's modern yet classic all in one. This cluster is definitely a step into the future though, and is really cool to interact with in person.
Perhaps someday when these screens break it will be easier and cheaper to replace than the current two screen set up we currently have since it’s not built into the dash.
if you want to have screens only in your cars then at least design the whole dashboard part in a meaningful way. the way car makers design this currently is keeping a dashboard design made to have integrated tachometer and other knobs and buttons and then simply they slap screens on it that don't match the design whatsoever. It simply looks cheap because no thoughtfullness seems to go into that.
I like the configuration options and the concept of of a large screen, but the graphics themself are terribly simplistic in artistic quality, and juvenile like a teenager’s video game. They should keep the new hardware and technology related to idrive 8, but go back to the previous generation graphics, or consult Lexus for the art/design style.
Important to note that these graphics are only for M models. The series cars with iDrive 8 have more standard graphics. We personally think they look great, and a fun flair to the M cars.
It's interesting to hear all the negative comments on ID8. As someone who has lived with ID7 since 2018, I know the shortcomings inside and out. ID8 is a huge leap forward in lots of areas. Especially notable is wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay without any add ons. I understand the screen is a matter of taste. I checked out the screen in a different model and I dig the single screen look. I do agree with the comment on AC buttons.. There should be hard buttons for key quick features like climate and stereo. The thing that made me think twice about getting the new M3 was the super kidney grille. Ultimately I ended up getting it totally blacked out with shadowline trim on black exterior paint. The black on black tones down the grille and the new model ultimately is a great machine and nice design, albeit with some decisions that could have been better. The day they stop offering the manual transmission is when I stop buying them. Honestly I think it's weird that so many automatic transmission Ms are even sold.
@@michaeljefferies5686 hope you’re enjoying your M3! I have a 2020 M340i, and my wife drive a 2018 Lexus RX350. The Lexus infotainment system itself is among the worst, as far as the ease of use. I just like the RPM gauge style in the RX 350. Ultimately the BMWs overall package delivers more desirable contributions that I think eventually shadow the nit picking details. But that’s what you get when you design a car that’s nearly perfect in every other way. For instance, I always loved the way the Audi S4 looked, but then I tested the modern BMWs and felt the overall package was better, so I bought a BMW instead. I would hope the ID8 is better than I think, because I may end up with it someday in the future. All I can say otherwise is that I like buttons.
Sold my M2 Comp as I need three belts in the back, wanted to switch into the M3 but couldn't get used to the grill, with this, BMW killed it for me completely, now looking at a Alfa Gulia Q instead. Thank you for the detailed review!
You're very welcome, but unfortunate that the details have turned you off the G80! It's such a phenomenal car in every way; we'd encourage you not to write it off so quickly because you don't like the interior screen. Give it a chance in person before you do. We've had many clients come in certain they'd hate the screen, only to leave really liking it.
Contrary to a lot of the comments I find here I actually really like the new iDrive 8. Unfortunately I'm not considering a brand new M3! I wish iDrive 8 would come to the M5 but it's already been Facelifted so highly unlikely there. Would also like to see it come to the M8 but I have no idea if BMW already snuck a facelift in there. If iDrive 8 comes to either I'd definitely consider it a lot more.
Agreed, we really like it as well. ID8 is coming to all BMW models eventually. M8 did receive an LCI for 2023, so it will not come to that car until it's next generation, if it gets a next generation. M5 is all new for 2024 and will get ID8.
i think it's a pity that with a digital instrument cluster it's not possible to configure classic all-round instruments, Kind regards From Germany!! 🙋♂️🙋♂️
As far as the sound system? We personally find the Harmon Kardon system to be very nice, but admittedly haven't tried the systems in the latest Audi or MB products.
You can sync both climate zones if desired, but there are no knobs to adjust temperature. Instead, temperature adjustment is handled through the screen via the two temperature adjustment buttons, which are fixed in place on the screen at all times.
yeahhh, so I payed a lot of money for head up display, to keep my eyes on the highway, but instead of searching for controls with my hand, now I have to look away for temp control as you cannot "feel" the buttons of a touchscreen... smartest trainees at bmw...
In the USA, it is in the X7, 7 series, M3 and M4, 3 series, iX and i4, 2 series coupe and X1. It is coming to X5/X6 in 2024. That list varies in other markets however.
I just took delivery of my M3Comp RWD, however, mine does not have the "Track" option for the gauge cluster. Do you know why that is and how to get it?
I’m ordering mine in Java Green Metallic, so I wish there was a way to change the car to mine on the tire menu. Think it would look cool to have that shade of green on the display. Can you do a video of the differences between the ‘22 and ‘23 interior? I hate that they don’t have the M3 badging in the center console near the iDrive controls. I’m sure there are others that I’m not aware of.
The tire menu car won't look like the actual car, but the car in the startup animations, parking 3D camera, and live vehicle screens will be Java Green! We do miss the M3 badge in the console, unfortunate that they got rid of that. Is there anything that wasn't addressed in this video regarding 22 vs 23 interiors that you're still curious about? We tried to cover the main changes in this video, the primary change, of course, being iDrive 8.
The screen is standard, and the climate is only controllable by voice command and on-screen buttons. However, I'd give it a chance before you write it off. The screen and voice command work very well!
this headlight design looks so aggressive and cool they should've kept it for the G87 , it would change the whole nature of the car why is this so hard for the BMW design team to understand?
Agreed, love the laser-light headlight design on the G8x! I'm not sure it would suit the G87 very well though, the G80/82 and G87 have very different designs, and the M2's unique headlight design gives it its own character!
I feel like Bmw heading in the wrong direction with this dash I want to drive a BMW not a Tesla! Really disappointing new tech doesn’t have to be pushed in all car makes and models
But new tech does have to be pushed in all makes and models, otherwise, before you know it, the make and model that doesn't adopt the new tech will be seen as outdated and obsolete. BMW always stays ahead of the tech curve, and this is no exception. Thankfully they've done a really nice job of bringing the cars into the new age of car technology.
My M4 is coming with this screen but at the end of the day, that’s all it is. People say they buy these because they are drivers cars then complain about a screen. It’s literally no more complicated than the old one. I’m sure I’ll get used to it
Great point! When push comes to shove, you can turn off the screen and enjoy it for what it's for: driving! That said, the screen works great for what it's designed for.
I have the new 3 series with the Idrive8 but mine doesnt have this red and blue accent in the screen. It’s just the normal one. Is this only for the M series or later there will be an update?
Currently, this style of iDrive 8 is only for M cars. Perhaps there will be an aftermarket solution to add this to the non-M iDrive 8 cars, but it will not be available from BMW.
Sounds like it is not a US market car. Things can be quite different in other markets, so I wouldn't be surprised if ID8 has already made it to ICE 4 series cars in other markets.
I dont want this new panel, but I have to take it for my ordered M4 comp, and I am even being asked to pay an additional for it! Is it the same for you? How much difference you guys were asked for?
Are you sure? The 2023 M4 does not have iDrive 8, which is what brings this infotainment system to the car. Even on the cars that do have it though, it is a standard feature, and does not require any additional charge. Sometimes the window stickers are itemized in a confusing was that makes it look like it's $1,000 extra, when in fact that $1,000 extra is for the HUD. Either way, the M4 doesn't have this screen, so it shouldn't be a factor for you.
@@bmwofmorristown9038 I was told yesterday by my dealer that my ordered m4 comp convertible only comes with the new curved panel now, and he is sending me the order ammendment and add price for it, otherwise he needs to cancel my order from jun2022.
Great video, I think I missed it if its in this video but can you make shortcuts to climate control functions like “75 degrees” or “toggle heated seats”? I also heard you can use the controller wheel to go up and get to shortcuts quickly from anywhere in iDrive 8 (CarPlay included?) so I could technically just get muscle memory of how many wheel turns/clicks to set a certain climate control setting? Thanks!
You can shortcut certain climate settings, like menu items, but not specific climate settings. It's best to use voice control if you want to circumvent the in-screen climate controls. Also, yes, you can access shortcuts with the iDrive controller only, so that muscle memory can be learned to get to the most important items without taking your eyes off the road at all.
Everyone is different I suppose. I personally don't mind the screen. This is a better alternative to having an screen the size of an iPad Pro in your center display area. PS.... @ 15:00 was the car over heating?
Absolutely, nothing will make everyone happy! Interesting point about the temperature, just noticed that. It also appears that it was making 30 pounds of boost at idle lol. I think that's just a camera issue.
I wouldn't mind these screens taking over functionality if they weren't so laggy. How is this the state of latest tech in 2023 when older phones do more things at 60fps?
It’s quite a good system. Time will tell if all these negative opinions actually last, or if people are just shocked by such a new and unique design, and will eventually end up liking it. I’m strongly suspecting it will be the latter, as it always has been.

Its great that you need to swipe the panel even before you can adjust simple things as ventilation or temperature when you are at the highway at 180km/h. Very safe and helpful.. the exterior designer was great, but the IT "expert" that designed this s.... for sure drives a i3......
I had the same initial reaction at first, but overtime it's become almost as easy to use as normal hard buttons. Not AS easy, but close. Voice control, on the other hand, requires no diversion of attention, and works quite well.

As we've expressed to others who've voiced similar opinions, we really think folks will warm up to it in person and with more time spent with the system!
one very BAD feature: you can set your car up as you like (steering, exhaust, suspension) and each time you lock the car, and come back, it reverts to all COMFORT options. Unless you program it into an "M" button and press it twice every time you get into the car, you lose your settings. Big error on the part of BMW!
That's true of all BMW's. They start in Comfort mode by default. All you have to do is press one button right on the steering wheel to get back to the settings you like :)
It is modern and techy. But it is to complicated. Takes to much time to do certain stuf when you are busy in city traffic. That is why hard keys are better. Bmw g30 2017 year for me has the best balance between 2 worlds. Another point for me is, considering this is all screen, we should be able to customise designe of everything in atleast 20-30 diferent looks. Like this it is just forced, and most of us hate it. Id7 was on the edge, but this is plain cheap and more complicated. Not to mention that every year we lose some good practical stuf on car, and most of bmw car palet doesnt have certain life quality stuf like ventilated cooled seats to order, heating and cooling when standing, shades and universal memory of everything i program to 1 key. Like i would love to setup everything and have that on key profile. So when i go into car i dont need to press 7 keys or options, to turn off start/stop, to put heating on seats at winter or put cooling on seats and so on. I hate artificial engine sound, start/stop in confort before rotors, it really fuks up your engine when you need to go and engine is in middle of shuting down. And why did we lose hard disk memory. Why do i need to buy usb c memory for my music. Bmw needs to work on esential quality of speakers aswell. There is so much more stuf that bmw fans like myself want more then this screen. We can live without any screen if we have well made essentials. M keys or memory keys on stearing wheel should be on all M packet cars. That is good stuf, when i need to pass something on road i can go instantly to sport or customised mode. I am definitly skiping this model and any other that go in this way.
With the exception of hard drive memory, all of those features you mentioned are available! Start/stop is always defeatable as well. We've found that once you've lived with iDrive 8 for a while, many of the essential controls become muscle memory, and are just as easy to do as they were with hard keys.
@@bmwofmorristown9038 I was speaking in general about id8 on all bmw models. It is direction that company is going. Unrelated to id8 all Series 1 and series 2 have good car dimensions, price is close to same with series 3 and 4. And when you look 1 year age car with below 30k km, you can buy 5 and 7 series for same money as 1 year old series 1. But then you get to issue that certain stuf you cant equip on new car in germany that 3 or 5 series can. You need to drive car at summer when it was siting on sun 30 min, outside 40c and you die how hot it is in 70k euros car, no ventilated seats. I think in re-designe it was aded as option now for 3 series. But older m3 or 3 series in general didnt have it. Less choices for equipment is noticable as you go down from 5 series. I do have to mention isolation and quality of stuf go down aswell. But price does not folow much. That gets you to only drive 5 series and forget all other bmw exist. And it is not even money related. People from bmw company need to be more realistic and actualy spend a month in each of their models at hot and cold weather and drive it on mixed town roads and old roads. Car size is growing all the time aswell. Now related to id8. To all people who use high end tech, fast pcs, high quality sound systems at home, high end phones, high end tvs and so on cos that is mostly lifestyle when you can aford m3 or higher, id8 is nothing impressive. It has a lot of aplications and so on, but then it probably fails on simple basic dumb stuf like id7. I already said that i dislike screen and designe. As for practicality, i really hope that it is 10x faster and more responsive and reliable then id7. As for gesture and speaking to a car, forget it, you cant cover that many languages to get that working properly. Id7 fails at english. I dont expect much more for id8. Also, navigation on id7 is hell, terrible. So i dont expect much on id8 on that part. Not related to id8 speaking about sound, i removed on my car harman, to put aftermarket sound. And now is way better. My car was 1 year age 25k km, so it was not ordered, harman was already there in m340d. I did same with harman in my m5. I just want to say that bmw has a long way to go on everything below 5 series. 5 is decent.
Very disappointing! Was looking to build a custom M3 Comp Xdrive 2023, but this new screen was making me doubt it (didn't' know how I would feel about it), and after this video it completely turned me off. Screen looks cheap elongated, and without separation and dedicated climate control for a $90k build I'm turned off. What a phenomenal car ruined by the interior of the dashboard. Quite upsetting. I'm now looking at building an M550 Xdrive, probably better daily driver anyways. But I'm saddened as I really like the look of the M3 exterior and what the M3 offers on a driving standpoint. The whole thing just looks cheap, as if it was slapped onto the interior of the car without flow. At least the way Mercedes did it, it doesn't give the feeling of looking cheap inside.
I can tell you without reservation that it feels and looks anything but cheap when you're in the car. It looks super modern and high-tech. The lines are sharp and crisp, and the frame is very modern and high-end feeling. I wouldn't let a screen preference turn you away from such a phenomenal car. At least try it in person, it may change your mind.
Big wow factor and looks cool at first but will wear off after a few weeks of ownership. IMO this was a lazy design by bmw. Much easier and cheaper to slap a giant lcd panel on a bland dashboard rather than designing a dashboard that looks good and presents buttons, levers and indicators with an ergonomics layout.
I cant even believe my eyes at how terrible this id8 is. I was about to order a g80 m3, but now that this id8 has been introduced, i may as well drive my 2018 440i into the ground. I want an ICE sports car, not an EV tryhard interior. I too was one of the haters of the g8x front grille but after seeing it in person i actually like it. This though, no, i dont want tablets and touch screens in my car. Bmw needs to get in touch with their fans. Only people they are attracting with this id8 are people who would rather buy a tesla.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I say the same thing about ID8 as I did about the grille. Give it a chance in person, and it becomes difficult not to like.
@@bmwofmorristown9038 do you not think that bmw could have done a better job integrating the screen into the dash. After several days of seeing this now, its not the screen that gets me, its the fact they just plopped it ontop of the dash almost as an afterthought

I wouldn't take it. That dash looks awful and even worse on sport car like this M3C. It could have all the cool features on the world, still ugly.
@@yoe.garcia it’s not that bad it’s actually pretty cool I think

@@playnevergrind 100% that bracket stand holder behind the long iPad dash really looks odd. In the end the car got sold just yesterday to another customer with the maximum specifications built in the car. Apart from the dashboard the car does look awesome in sky scraper grey !
I still love the analog cluster in my 2018 M4 Comp. This cluster is pretty wild though! Cheers bro.
We're big fan's of the F8x cluster as well, it's modern yet classic all in one. This cluster is definitely a step into the future though, and is really cool to interact with in person.
The whole design team should be terminated
Perhaps someday when these screens break it will be easier and cheaper to replace than the current two screen set up we currently have since it’s not built into the dash.
Interesting point, that may be true. Although I wouldn't expect screens to be breaking very frequently if at all.

if you want to have screens only in your cars then at least design the whole dashboard part in a meaningful way.
the way car makers design this currently is keeping a dashboard design made to have integrated tachometer and other knobs and buttons and then simply they slap screens on it that don't match the design whatsoever.
@@bmwofmorristown9038 perhaps it looks better in person
@@Andrew-kr2qg It definitely looks more attractive in person than it does in video/photos.
It does look out of place. Looks like I stood my iPad on the dash and connected it to the cars computer

Great video! This is exactly the information I was looking for!
Thank you, glad you found the video useful!
M5 is all new for 2024 and will get ID8.
is it possible to have this gauge cluster in M340i?
i think it's a pity that with a digital instrument cluster it's not possible to configure classic all-round instruments, Kind regards From Germany!! 🙋♂️🙋♂️
We would love to see this added as a software update, would be a really nice touch!
I’m hoping for a software update to remedy that issue. This digital instrument cluster should be much more customizable.
How do you save your preferred configuration to where you don’t have to press the M mode button to get that sport gauge ?
The audio quality is very disappointing compared to an Audi RS5 and C63S. Other than that, love it.
As far as the sound system? We personally find the Harmon Kardon system to be very nice, but admittedly haven't tried the systems in the latest Audi or MB products.
I want it so bad. Next car.
The M3 is the attainable dream car for many!
Do you have physical knobs to set the temperature left or right, or synched ?
You can sync both climate zones if desired, but there are no knobs to adjust temperature. Instead, temperature adjustment is handled through the screen via the two temperature adjustment buttons, which are fixed in place on the screen at all times.
Will the M240i or M series (not just competition cars) also get the specialized M widgets as shown in this video?
The M version of iDrive 8 that is shown here is exclusive to full M cars like the M3, M4, M5 etc. It does not depend on competition package at all.
How’s the glare on the screen now that the gauges aren’t covered?
Not bad at all. They've done a good job making it glare resistant, even without a cluster housing covering the gauges.
Can you save the ‘sport’ instrument cluster and heads up display into a M mode? So that when you press the M2 button the sport clusters appear too?
No, the M Modes only save your driving settings under the setup menu.
yeahhh, so I payed a lot of money for head up display, to keep my eyes on the highway, but instead of searching for controls with my hand, now I have to look away for temp control as you cannot "feel" the buttons of a touchscreen... smartest trainees at bmw...
I'm so confused about the curb display interior like which cars get it like how does it work with what cars get the curve display?
In the USA, it is in the X7, 7 series, M3 and M4, 3 series, iX and i4, 2 series coupe and X1. It is coming to X5/X6 in 2024. That list varies in other markets however.
I just took delivery of my M3Comp RWD, however, mine does not have the "Track" option for the gauge cluster. Do you know why that is and how to get it?
The means that your car isn't equipped with M Drive Professional. At this point it is not something that can be retrofitted.
I don't want to touch those LCD screens at all, and only use the knob to control them. Is this possible ?
The screen is standard, and the climate is only controllable by voice command and on-screen buttons. However, I'd give it a chance before you write it off. The screen and voice command work very well!
this headlight design looks so aggressive and cool
they should've kept it for the G87 , it would change the whole nature of the car
why is this so hard for the BMW design team to understand?
Agreed, love the laser-light headlight design on the G8x! I'm not sure it would suit the G87 very well though, the G80/82 and G87 have very different designs, and the M2's unique headlight design gives it its own character!
Do you have a list of the interior ambient lighting colors?
Unfortunately I don't, but there's something in there for everyone! Plenty to chose from.
I would have not bought the wife an x7 if it still had idrive 7. I drive 8 is by far 10 years ahead . I just ordered my m3 comp 2024 cannot wait.

How old are you? 89?
@@javierjimenez3627 24 🤷🏽♂️ I work for bmw store the new cars are gay af compared to every old model to now
But new tech does have to be pushed in all makes and models, otherwise, before you know it, the make and model that doesn't adopt the new tech will be seen as outdated and obsolete.
Can you have the miles you’ve driven show up on the gage cluster? I’m so used to seeing that .

Sounds like it is not a US market car. Things can be quite different in other markets, so I wouldn't be surprised if ID8 has already made it to ICE 4 series cars in other markets.
I am wondering how long and reliable this screen will work in temperature below zero, especially during cold start!
We haven't had a chance to try this screen in the freezing cold yet, but with how reliable iDrive 7 was, we don't expect it to be a problem.

Initially, yes. But once you have your shortcuts organized and are familiar with the system, it's no more distracting than any other touch screen.
Does anyone know if you can update a 2022 M3 to iDrive 8 or is that only for the new displays?
Not likely to be possible. Would require tons of new hardware and a lot of programming.
@@bmwofmorristown9038 aw I was hoping I could make a shortcut to the fan setting, but thanks for the info!

one very BAD feature: you can set your car up as you like (steering, exhaust, suspension) and each time you lock the car, and come back, it reverts to all COMFORT options. Unless you program it into an "M" button and press it twice every time you get into the car, you lose your settings. Big error on the part of BMW!
That's true of all BMW's. They start in Comfort mode by default. All you have to do is press one button right on the steering wheel to get back to the settings you like :)
I just can’t figure out where my odometer is …..that should be permanently shown on the screen 🤦🏻♂️😁……. Where is it ?…
Press the BC button on the end of your turn signal stalk :)

I was speaking in general about id8 on all bmw models.
I have reconsidered my decision to order an M240i for the same reason. I was a big fan of iDrive 7, but can't stare at a super wide tablet.
We've had iDrive 8 cars on our showroom floor for months now, it hasn't worn off, or worn us down at all!

Alex there is still time. I just got an allocation for the 2023 M4. Still comes with ID7. Just saying! :D
@@alexmartins5496 Definitely a valid point. They definitely could have integrated it into the dash more, however, I think they were going for a more modern look. The big, in your face screen kind of tackles that as opposed to a more integrated "traditional" looking design. I can see where BMW was coming from with their design, but I can also totally understand the gripes with it. I personally think it looks fine, but can see how one would want it to be more integrated.
Boys, we dont like the new idrive 8
We are missing climate buttons too :(((
Give it a shot in person, it's an awesome system!
that was not even close to a full walkthrough, home boy showed us the touch screen and gauge cluster the whole vid
It was just a walkthrough of the infotainment system! Check our channel for a walkthrough of the entire car.
Does anyone think the UI at 8:08 is ugly? The UI in iDrive 7 is much better.
mercedes benz add on bmw video
This new panel is ridiculous. I am not looking for a entertainment system but for a CAR. And I cannot change it, my M4 comp will be delivered with this sh.. and I am even being asked to pay an additional fore it! Is this company a kind of circus, as I honestly feel as a clown.

@@bmwofmorristown9038 bmw fore sure saved a lot of costs wirh cables buttons and assy costs. As buyer for oem car electronics I tell you that this panel costs max €150, but ist sold for 30x this cost, while I am obligated to take it..
Really can’t get
Please bring back circular guages what the he'll is this.
The circular gauges are missed, but this is a huge leap into the future for M. It will take getting used to for purists, but it's quite an impressive system.
It is a shame they would put something as ugly as this into their otherwise beautiful car. What a shame. RS5 it is.
The RS5 is an awesome car,but driving an M3 back to back with an RS5 will make the choice for you :) The screen is really useable in person.
Amg gt63s>
But you can buy 2 M3's for the price of one AMG GT63S! Easy choice if you ask us :)
Finally the M cars are invaded with this electronic crap!!!! I will miss the analog gages!!
So will we in a way. The analog gauges were certainly beautiful. But this is the future. We've said it before, but if we didn't have a full gauge cluster screen by now, the car would be crucified in the press for being outdated...
Absolutely hideous. I was about to get the ball rolling on an M3, but this ID8 monstrosity is an absolute deal-breaker. Sad to see BMW go to crap like this. Cheap slap-on pseudo-improvement, no esthetic value, and a kick in the nuts for everything BMW used to stand for: visceral, joyful driving pleasure. I'm out.
Sorry you feel that way. We can confidently guarantee visceral driving pleasure, but the screen aesthetics are of course subjective. We always recommend trying it in person before writing it off.
