Just got an x1 and my screen set up looks a little different. Are they different from this car versus mine?
If it's a 2024 model year, then you have iDrive 8.5. While mostly the same, it does have some different graphics and layouts
Idrive7 has a better looking UI imo.

What I don't get is how they absolutely can't defeat the lag in their infotainment/map. They sell premium cars for more then 50grand but still it feels like using a middle class phone from 5 years ago :/
That is what you get when you outsource software development to the lowest bidder: you get some developers in India, Romania, and maybe Poland who's first objective is to avoid financial penalties for their company, report to 5 lines of a management who still want to cut costs about their productivity, only then do some actual dev work.
@@filippxxpretty sure they do it in-house. But tbh I would love it to see an externally developed infotainment system. If you compare the software design of Apple Carplay or Android Auto, it's apparent how much BMW, VW and Mercedes are behind in terms of software design and usability.
i dislike the Drive 8 unfortunately, is not intuitive, cumbersome, buggy, and annoying.
Car play and Android Auto disconnect when going into car parks & E-tag gates. So frustrating.
I also have a Tesla, which is far easier and fun. And never disconnects.
My BMW is a very disappointing experience and is not intelligent in terms of what others able to do.
