THIS right here is a performance! Just a piano, a bass, that incredible voice and no goddamn Auto-Tune! Her imperfections - she's very slightly sharp in a couple of places - are what make this REAL! I don't want electronic vocal "correction". I want a human being expressing without anything to get in the way. And that's what Adele has given us. She's a solid gold, international treasure!
And yet i think there's an argument to be made for electronics, not the over the top auto tune but just a little bit maybe were it's just noticeable cause damn i can't sing, can you? It's hard and with electronics you can do a lot more. Like the in the air tonight drum solo is done with a gated reverb (making the drums have such a cool sound by use of electronics). So i'm absolutely against using a lot of auto tune, use as little as you can but sometimes i don't mind artists using a little bit of auto tune, and it even fits some songs.
My husband loved Adele and he played this for me. When he died of cancer he requested this song be played for me. There were others too but this was his dedication.

its not only her voice, its the way she transfers her emotions through her voice and music. When i listen to hers songs i get lost and i can totally feel so many emotions even though i can't relate to her lyrics/experiences. I don't know many artists from my generation (90's kid) who are able just to stand there and captivate me by simply sining, we have lots of entertainers, unique personalities with unique styles etc, but someone as simple as adele who touches people by just singing is extremely rare. Her videos are view a billion times and when you think about that, she just sings there nothing special (no dancing, no crazy effects etc). thank you adele for making music and teach me what real music is about
I've always listened to her but this is very grown up sanging, she's got more control, she holds back and gives us more layers of sound. Her voice is so much a gift from a realm not of this earth. Even my animals stop and listen when I put Adele on. Her voice and message is real and pure, even they get it.

@Swan Lake She didn't lose weight, she got in shape and healthy, and lost weight as a biproduct. She didn't just stop eating, she hikes and lifts weights. I assume these things all make singing easier but I can't say for sure. She also had throat surgery.

As an indie punk and metal listener, rarely do I venture into this type of music. But you'd have to be a fool to not recognize the level at which Adele is on. Easily one of the best of all time. Hats off to the piano player too , soooo good

I very much doubt that! She has no real talent other than for self promotion. Knows how to make a few million alright. She's no K D Lang, Dionne warwick, Diana Ross, Joni Mitchell. Debbie Harry, the list is endless. She can't hold a candle to any of those and she'll be forgotten decades before they ever are.
And this here folks is a real, human voice. NO effects, no auto-tune, no gimmicks. A piano, a tastefully used bass guitar and a voice that is out of this world.

Was blessed to have seen her in Vegas last January! Simply amazing! The venue is perfect for her and she even walked through the crowd and interacted with people. She’s in my top 3 performers and tied with Garth for best concert I’ve attended.

One of my favorite artists. There was a time I was so broken I couldn't listen to her music because it tore my insides out. I'm back enjoying her again and how she can mix lifes joys and sorrows together. Her performance is felt as much as it is heard. ❤
Such a supreme talent. I love the fact that she doesn’t need a laser light show and a choreographed dance routine to sell her music. She just stands in front of a mic with a classy dress on and lets her voice and message do the rest.
I was struck by the hand movements, as if she's an orchestra conductor, only conducting herself. Extraordinary talent and artistry. Adele sets the bar back to a high standard ..stand and deliver.

As a listener since the 19 album, Adele’s voice greatly improved and she developed new singing styles/techniques that made her more flawless in her recorded songs and live performances. This is an artist that truly knows her craft and is eager to improve step by step without even pressuring herself in the trends of modern music and demands of her career. 🤎 The long wait was worth it, for me.
Technical-wise she has a lot of habits that are unconventional, though. It is not the most efficient voice production mechanism, as you can hear she tends to compress her vocal cords so hard at times, especially when she switches from head voice to chest voice. Vocal teachers will not prefer you to sing like this as these decrease her vocal durability. But it is also exactly these habits that make her singing so unique and wonderful.
I actually feel that I’ve been on Adele’s journey with her. Her technical work improved with every album, but in this one omg! She opens her heart & tells us her story. I’ve been so moved by it I’ve literally bawled! 😭
What I love the most is her music strategy.. she bring a masterpiece, does performances enjoys the line light then she goes dormant for another 5 yrs. Then doom does it all over again

Someone like you was a great sing but I’d argue that ‘million years ago’ is a tad bit more brilliant. The melodies and pain the song conveys is amazing. During lock down it helped me feel that I wasn’t alone, even though she wrote the song way before that. Her greatest ability is to write songs that are relatable to anyone without it being so vague that it looses meaning. The pain in her voice and words or the beauty and love in it speaks to the very essence of what it means to be human, where as so many others have just sang about what they felt when something happened. If she’s lonely she conveys the very essence of what loneliness is. A lot of famous singers sing about how they feel. Million years ago can be interpreted as ‘I’m famous and left my friends and family’ but she shows just how hard it was to leave, but also that she couldn’t stay without loosing her dreams, that she had to go. Someone who doesn’t fit in at a new school or a new place can feel that loneliness. She focused on the feeling and it’s effects not just the cause

People used to be critique her technique, but now her technique is really improved a lot. Now, i even prefer her live performance than studio version. She is getting better and better
Hard to imagine this as easy to perform when all I can think is how hard it is to convey as message that it's okay to "fail". Adelle sets a new norm that was never meant to be unusual. Life brings hardships and it's more than okay to experience them. It's true to idolize what is "normal". And what is "not".

Adele’s voice is truly a gift from God. Everyone in the world needed a voice that makes them just stop for a few minutes, listen and suddenly your day is better. That’s how her voice makes me feel whatever song I hear her singing. 😊

its not only her voice, its the way she transfers her emotions through her voice and music. When i listen to hers songs i get lost and i can totally feel so many emotions even though i can't relate to her lyrics/experiences. I don't know many artists from my generation (90's kid) who are able just to stand there and captivate me by simply sining, we have lots of entertainers, unique personalities with unique styles etc, but someone as simple as adele who touches people by just singing is extremely rare. Her videos are view a billion times and when you think about that, she just sings there nothing special (no dancing, no crazy effects etc). thank you adele for making music and teach me what real music is about

I've always listened to her but this is very grown up sanging, she's got more control, she holds back and gives us more layers of sound. Her voice is so much a gift from a realm not of this earth. Even my animals stop and listen when I put Adele on. Her voice and message is real and pure, even they get it.

Was blessed to have seen her in Vegas last January! Simply amazing! The venue is perfect for her and she even walked through the crowd and interacted with people. She’s in my top 3 performers and tied with Garth for best concert I’ve attended.

Technical-wise she has a lot of habits that are unconventional, though. It is not the most efficient voice production mechanism, as you can hear she tends to compress her vocal cords so hard at times, especially when she switches from head voice to chest voice. Vocal teachers will not prefer you to sing like this as these decrease her vocal durability. But it is also exactly these habits that make her singing so unique and wonderful.
I actually feel that I’ve been on Adele’s journey with her. Her technical work improved with every album, but in this one omg! She opens her heart & tells us her story. I’ve been so moved by it I’ve literally bawled! 😭

Someone like you was a great sing but I’d argue that ‘million years ago’ is a tad bit more brilliant. The melodies and pain the song conveys is amazing. During lock down it helped me feel that I wasn’t alone, even though she wrote the song way before that. Her greatest ability is to write songs that are relatable to anyone without it being so vague that it looses meaning. The pain in her voice and words or the beauty and love in it speaks to the very essence of what it means to be human, where as so many others have just sang about what they felt when something happened. If she’s lonely she conveys the very essence of what loneliness is. A lot of famous singers sing about how they feel. Million years ago can be interpreted as ‘I’m famous and left my friends and family’ but she shows just how hard it was to leave, but also that she couldn’t stay without loosing her dreams, that she had to go. Someone who doesn’t fit in at a new school or a new place can feel that loneliness. She focused on the feeling and it’s effects not just the cause

Hard to imagine this as easy to perform when all I can think is how hard it is to convey as message that it's okay to "fail". Adelle sets a new norm that was never meant to be unusual. Life brings hardships and it's more than okay to experience them. It's true to idolize what is "normal". And what is "not".
