As for "don't do it like Becky does ,you don't have Becky's hair " i died 😂😂😂 also because i realised I've also been doing it like Becky... thanks for the lesson 💙
Oh my gosh when I finally listened and started washing my hair in sections! It made a world of difference. No more ripping through my hair because they all married each other 🙌🏿
DON'T👏🏾 DO 👏🏾LIKE 👏🏾BECKY!👏🏾 YOU'RE 👏🏾NOT👏🏾 BECKY!👏🏾 Sections!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh, that hit my soul. Why am I washing my hair like the head and shoulders commercials! My hair is too long and the tangle and knots its outrageous- I'm losing my hair🙈 You saved my life (my hair life!) I appreciate you🙏🏾 🖤
Propylene glycol is a humectant and quite good for the hair... synthetic ingredients are quite good for your hair as long as you do you research and know what is what.
I agree. PG is a humectant. I realized i made a mistake after watching the video. I meant to say to avoid Polyethylene Glycol! Not propylene glycol! Thank you for pointing it out!
2:22 ingredients to stay away from : sulfates (strips oil from the hair) 4:51 parabens , fragrances 5:45 pre poo especially if your hair is dry ! 6:48 wash your hair in sections
its been about a year since i started growing my hair, your videos have been so helpful and i always learn something new with each upload.. also super happy that the RUclips algorithm puts your videos first as soon as you upload. cant wait for second year of hair growing 🙂 i dont have it figured out yet but ill get the hang of it eventually, thanks again for the uploads. 🙌🏽
Sulfates aren’t bad for you people! Especially when you’re towards the lower end of the porosity scale, and heavy handed when applying products! I also feel like this information was great, but we must remember that the ingredients in shampoos are only activated through friction! If you don’t, it’ll eventually lead to build up, dried out, and brittle ends. Plus more breakage. Imagine trying to wash dishes without scrubbing them first. All of the oil and grease won’t come off.
The one person who's hair is pretty much the same as mine. And I think you're the only person who I trust😭. I'm on this journey with my hair and I'm giving her the love she deserves❤
I had to literally cut some of my hair off because it was so badly tangled after I tried washing it without sectioning after braids. Still sucks but it’ll grow back. Lesson learned.
I love your content. I enjoy the explanations for why you are doing things a certain way. Also, the fact that you insert pictures so you have a visual reference of what you are talking about has been very helpful.
I think knowing your sebum production is also important. A great way to check is to recognize how often you can go between washes without your scalp being on fire 🔥 haha aka in need of a wash. If you feel the need to wash your scalp more then once a week then you probably have a high sebum production aka “oily scalp” once a week normal and past a week or more drier or dry scalp. I have more of an oily scalp and my hair starts to itch and need a wash every 5 days like clockwork so that’s why I wash my hair once a week or every 5 days. I can prolong this by spraying water + ACV on my scalp but depending on the style my hair is in it can ruin the style so just something to keep in mind hope this was helpful.
I agree. I have an oily scalp and I NEED to wash twice a week. Plus I sweat a lot so yeah once a week ain't gonna cut it lol. I'm also high porosity. Not sure if that makes a difference
@@rionell412 Thank you for sharing your hair experience. I agree that as I’ve increased my physical activity my scalp does get dirtier quicker and more so when I wear it out and don’t cover it when I go outside ( more exposure to the elements, dirt and so on). My hair is also high porosity but I don’t find that affects my scalp as much as my other hair characteristic: fine strands which affects my hair in that my strands build up quicker because there’s less surface area on my strands to hold products even though my hair can absorb a good deal of product due to it being high porosity.
Thanks Jenn, I am going towards the light now when it comes to washing. I want put shampoo on my strands anymore but focus the shampoo at the root. When I were going to the salon, it was how they used to do when washing my hair 😒. I know better now so I will do better 😌 🙂. Thanks!
Hi Jenn, I need your help. My bestie has 4c hair and is suffering from cancer. It's been way too hard for her to was during this time. She has not washed or brushed in 2 months. She is new to natural hair and I am a white girl. Can you give me any tips on washing and caring for her natural 4c hair? Thank you
I finally received my Imonatural leave in and hair and body Creme (strawberry and vanilla) yesssss sis!!! Thank you so much for the recommendation. So bomb!!!! Also grabbed Mello Hair’s growth serum :)
Your brows look so good...yes your makeup look amazing..wish i could do mine like you do..can you show us how you did this makeup look especially the smoky eyes
Hi Jenn, I especially love your wash day and how to moisturise your hair videos. Can you use your mixture on hair extensions and how long does the mixture keep?
Hey JJ, I have one question please please help.you seeoils lie rosemary, castor, lavender etc. Do you oil your scalp everyday or once a week. At the moment I am not oilingbut I do a hot oil once a week and use LCO method ( Shea moisture black castor oil/ apple cider plus leave in conditioner I use) and rice(with fenugreek sometimes) water. My edges are growing and I guess the rice water is doing something. Otherwise I am just catching up. Any tips please. Many thanks
First time commenting on one of your videos, wonderful content by the way. My hair looks like that with my shampoo, so now I know that I am using the wrong one. What is a good shampoo that does not have the sulphates and all the other ingredients that you mentioned?
@@JennJackson Hey girl, hey! Lol, so sweet of you, yes actually I looked at that video and checked out the products that you listed. Jen, my hair is so testy, she doesn't like shea butter aloe juice/gel, coconut oil, glycerine, and tea tree oil. I am looking for a sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo much like what you mentioned in your video without any of the ingredients that I mentioned. Been natural for quite some time now, but I am learning to listen to my hair by staying away from ingredients that she does not like. Thanks for responding and stay safe.
How do you moisture your hair in this style (super cute btw 😍)? I am trying to moisturize as often as possible, but I am struggling to keep my flat twists neat at the same time 😅
My 4c hair is completely fine washing it like “Becky”. Maybe if we stopped saying that it’s white to do one method and not another we would be more successful. Detangling isn’t a problem for me, as I dry my hair in braids always.
Wow I didn’t know I should section my hair while washing it. I noticed when I section my husband hair it was less work in the end and then I wash my own hair all at once and I come out of the shower it’s not straight and tangled up.
Parabens get a bad rep when they truly aren't that bad, there are some bad ones but for the most part, parabens lengthen the lifespan of your hair products and protect it from mould and germs, etc
I agree. They are preservatives BUT I have read scientific studies suggesting that parabens can disrupt hormones in the body and harm fertility and reproductive organs. Some has gone as far as suggesting that they can affect birth outcomes, and increase the risk of cancer. Now I haven't haven't ANY concrete studies saying that parabens has CAUSED any of this but if there are natural alternatives, I rather go that route. I just don't want to risk it. I don't need my shampoo to last a lifetime.
My hair is so damaged and unequal that sectioning is always just a nightmare. It also takes so much time... I wish it could be "fun" but the longer I spend under the shower wet and cold the more frustrated I get 🥴
