    Great content and looks like you are having a lot of fun. I noticed you were letting the smaller trout go. I see you have it rolling in the dirt and grabbing it with your dry hands removing the slim off the trout. They do swim away but eventually will die bc the slime coat has be removed. Which in turn make them susceptible to parasites. If you letting them go probably wanted to keep it in the water and remove the hook. Still love the video and you killed it. Tight lines!!

    Just fished with my gsp76ul today. It is different. Not sure how to explain it. It sorted has that tiny delay when you twitch a jig, the delay is like a buffer that give the jig a more natural and consistent motion. Maybe call it progressive action. High quality components, nice finishing, it is way better than my $150 st croix UL

    How far are you able to throw 1/16 ounce mini jigs on that okuma guide select pro? I've been tempted in buying one just not sure and want to ask someone that has experience using the okuma guide select pro.

    • @corefishing1
      @corefishing1  Год назад +1

      I can sling any mini jig pretty far with a 1/16 oz jig head and okuma guide select pro. I haven’t ever worried about not casting far enough. I highly recommend the guide select pro rod. I’ve had it for over 4-5 years now.

    • @RedGc8

      so the lighter the line the farther the cast?

    • @corefishing1
      @corefishing1  Год назад

      Yup. But I usually stay with 4lb mono. I feel like that’s the best blend of casting distance and like strength.

    • @corefishing1
      @corefishing1  Год назад +1

      I use 1/16 and 1/32 oz jig heads interchangeably. I just see what depth the trout are at and adjust accordingly.

    Those stick bait that you use, do they like a senko? Do they sink or float? Any salt in it to add weight? Thanks

    • @corefishing1
      @corefishing1  Год назад

      These senkos sink. Just like a normal senko except these are made by notorious custom jigs.

      Btw, is the okuma guide select pro UL on the stiff fast side or the tender tip side? I bought one and it is still somewhere on the air. Can't wait to use it.

    • @corefishing1
      @corefishing1  Год назад +1

      I think the okuma guide select pro is perfect in action. More moderate fast action than fast action, but I think that is better for keeping fished pinned and working the bait. Also has plenty of backbone when fighting a fish for an UL. Doesn’t feel like I’m getting destroyed holding a limp noodle for a rod. Haha

Micro stickbait from notorious tried it wacky and ned rig nothing, half Synco or stickbait nothing. Notorious mini jigs, spoons, powerbait, red worm. 4lb mono ultra light. Not a single bite ! I have bad luck with trout.
