Just watched your video with Steve I follow Steve channel religiously and just subscribed to yours after watching. My son and I just fished Brannon island Sherman island and Franks tract area Sunday December 2 water very stained and could not locate any active birds at all. We had one bite for one fish . We through jerk baits rattle traps spinner baits swim baits large and small primarily white on every shallow flat we could find we evened spooned for them where we could see them on ledges no luck . The water was very stained muddy. Does the muddy water shut down the activity or is there a technic other than bait to catch them in muddy water or just search for clean water. Anything you can advise me to do would be greatly appreciated Thank you for your time and do you guide ??

how do you like this okuma rod for topwater? do u use it only for the 1 oz pencils or do you think it would be good for lighter lures like 1/2 oz or 3/4 oz as well? looking to get a rod for striper topwater setup

What size hooks do you use on that?

Daiwa presso UL rod 7-8 $49, daiwa spinmatic 6-8 $49 , shimano sensilite L 7-8 $49 and mustad medmax UL $59 . All this rods are awesome just comes down to personal preference

Hook up baits is top jig here in southern california, I say 8 out 10 anglers use hook up baits, the natourious jigs did ok over here in our lakes , bought some extra bags and passed out to share

Hit boils the last three days in San Pablo bay, 30+ fish shakers nothing like it, so awesome! love that your out there with your Dad! I remember when my Dad was alive and we fished a boil for hours and caught and released over 100 fish. Epic day, I'll never forget. Most people have never experienced a boil just have put in the time and know when and where its most likely to happen.
