For me Dil Se is one of the most beautiful film of SRK.
The only reason it didnt succeed is "Time", if it has come 20 years later it would have been blockbuster.
Srk and manisha gave their career best performance ...in that movie ... it's really a cult movie ...

-At First, Dil se is not a Disaster or Super flop like this reviewer is trying to make, It was made on budget of 11 Crores and collected 28 Crores worldwide, the film was moderately successful at the domestic box office; however, it was a major success overseas, earning $975,000 in the United States and £537,930 in the United Kingdom, becoming the first Indian film to enter the top 10 in the United Kingdom box office charts, and it was also a hit in Japan.
- He Mentioned that this was Shahrukh's ordinary role and he didn't romanced with Manisha, If somebody expects DDLJ romance in this kind of Film it's the fault of Audience to not understand the Film. And not the fault of Shahrukh or Mani Ratnam..
- 'Manisha's Khan connention' is Pointless clue to decide the Box Office Collection of Dil se or anyother movie. People certainly dont think like Its Manisha's film with a khan so we're not watching it.
- And a point to be noted, After the success of Blockbuster Tamil films like Bombay (1995) and Indian (1996) Manisha was already a Superstar Actrress in South India. Hence its again not worthy to say there was not any south actor so it was flopped in South india. Even Bombay and Indian having all South actors were a hit in North India.
-Script has not problem at all. Possibly it's one of the best script in Hindi cinema.
In the conclusion,
Dil se is an underrrated masterpiece and only reason for not working in box office was that, Dil se was much ahead of its time. Audience back then were not ready for this level of cinema and most of them didnt understand the film, Its Dialougs, the link of the songs with the charcters and the story telling. Its still favorite film of Millions of people. Dil se is definitely the top 5 best film of SRK., Manisha and Mani Ratnam as well. Again It's not only remembered for its Songs only, but also for the story, mind blowing performances of the leads, locations and everything.
Its a masterpiece.
EXACTLY.....People who still call Dil Se flop are those who were idiots before...and still idiots after 25 years... didn't have brains to understand it then nor they have it today...Dil Se is an amazing romantic movie, and sorry for those for whom romance equates to sex and steamy scenes and skin show...They should stick to P***hub and leave such masterpieces for the sensible audience!
