This has been my project for the last few weeks, but I'm done with it for now and will be moving on to Super Mario Bros. 3 Warpless (with a goal of a 52:XX time). OMG Darbian, you have no idea how much it means to me to see you play through this game! When I was a child I had this game on Game Boy. I used to try to play through the first world as quickly as possible (I had never heard of speed running then, obviously). At some point I got so good at it, I was able to speed run the first world blindfolded. I have never done this with any other game. Seeing you breeze through this is the best experience EVER. Thank you.

I remember playing this in the car, and having to pause the game every few seconds between streetlights. Back then, the Gameboy screens weren't backlit, so you couldn't play in the dark.
Though i learned to play this game quite differently i must admit this was really relaxing.I usually ending this in 30 minutes plus (not a good speedrunner) with a big high score because i am greedy with it!

The music was so damn good for a launch game on the world's first handheld of the Gameboy's type (not a Tiger game). It's unfortunate that it is a super short game. It should have had at least another 3 worlds.

This game, to me, was always better than SML2. Both are amazing, but I feel like this was...just pure magic. I love the scaling. It make Mario seem so small. like its own little world. :)

Even before I knew speed running existed I used to play this game in my gameboy on the toilet... usually did something like 15 minute runs, but got all the bonus exits in every level... may have to try this like this and see how fast i can go.
Took me a month to beat the game. Was the first game I ever completed too lol. I was shocked how fast you beat the boss lmao. Spent like 10 mins to do it
Today I got this game from someone on Kijiji, to play on my Game Boy Color I got a few weeks ago. For a launch title Game Boy game, it's pretty darn good. I'm only 19, but I love the classic stuff. Trying to speed run 1-1, it's not working very well, but maybe one day I'll be as good as you.
