Solent Ships is operated from Town Quay, the Old Town quarter of Southampton, where the Mayflower departed 400 years ago.
Utilising various cameras our small crew are dedicated in providing a window onto our historic waterfront in the Solent region. The ‘Captain’ of our crew is a licenced drone pilot and day skipper, with an added passion for photography.
This channel has a large library of drone footage, documenting (with commentary) the various vessels that sail by one of the busiest Ports in the UK. At Solent Ships, you can also access 24 hour live streaming video of the day-to-day movements of all shapes and sizes of marine traffic, an ever-changing view that is enjoyed by cruise ship enthusiasts and water watchers worldwide.

Wow - the colours you got here are absolutely stunning! I do always find it a shame that the sail-ins to Southampton are executed in darkness (or SO early) - I find it such a beautiful port to approach!
Indeed, it makes you wonder why they can't arrive a little later when the sun is rising, rather than when it dark.
@@SolentShips yeah, we had an issue on Britannia last summer so had to sail in a day early (in the afternoon), and it was stunning!
Possibly not your best drone trip but bearing in mind the time and the location on the whole a great effort !

Thanks shipmate. I know what you mean, always tricky down at Calshot, but worth it for the sunrise. Some great pictures. Pity the cruise ships go past so quickly. Barely get a second to think what to do.

I've gone down to Calshot spit a few times to watch the ships come in and seen that drone flying over 😄
