  • Part 1 - So what is this cruising lark all about? We try a 4-night P and O cruise from Southampton onboard the P and O Aurora.
This was our very first cruise. We have a look at the P&O ship as we cruise to Zeebrugge and Bruges before heading to Guernsey.
The price of a balcony cabin was £349 pp.
In Part 1 we see what embarkation from Southampton is like and take a tour of the ship before spending a day at sea before docking at Zeebrugge for a tour of Bruges.
Next time we take a look at Bruges itself as well as the trip to St Peter Port in Guernsey.
So will we like it and become regular cruises?

I found this a few weeks later. This is a good cruise for first timers, we did it on our tenth but still loved it. As another cruise blogger said, the worst day on a cruise is better than the best day in the office. We took our kids on their first cruise on an similar itinerary, as we drove up my daughter saw the ship - Britannia and said 'there is no need for that!'. Once they were on the upper deck with cocktails and fried chicken their views mellowed. After that they thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep reviews going and keep cruising.

And since then we did 11 night from Southampton twice. And in 2019 we did 14 night carribean cruise from Miami.Having done that we will never do a Med cruise again.
    Ships were Crown Princess.
Royal Caribbean Explorer of the seasm
    MSC SEASIDE.
Allways went for a balcony after the 1st ship. If you get confined to your cabin thru illness you can sit outside.... try the carribean folks it was great. Enjoy all your cruises.

@@flydriveexplore worth considering, ships with 120/150 passangers, no assembling in areas to go on tour, berthed near towns, food on a par with the larger ships. Hope you will like it.

Yes that’s a boat compared to the big cruise ships, they are building the titanic the 2nd they say online so delayed I think by things.if you like it shipmates go bigger every time on the ships a new angle for you, think you’ve missed fishfingers with the captain though, they normally dress for dinner white suit look fine on you marcus and that doll Mel hanging of your arm, that’s the cruise life as I imagine it still is
