  • Time to make our 300ZX shine...literally. 200k miles of highly enjoyable driving have left our Z's exterior a bit less than fresh on the cosmetic grading scale. On this episode we will rectify some of these blemishes and really bring the car back to at least some of it's eye catching original good looks. #300zx #z32 #carrestoration

Great job, I just did some of these on my Z (video coming soon) and know how much work goes into this so can definitely appreciate it.

That area under the spoiler is just a black vinyl strip that tucks under the spoiler. Great job restoring it

That makes sense…seems they just break down over time.
Thanks. My fix should last many many years.

@@autoobsessivegarage You did good. The new OEM strips fit like crap and don't stay on. Painting it black is the correct call on these.

@@TGZ32 Thanks. Yeah...I never see those strips last too long...near permanent fix with the paint and it looks great too.

What paint did you use for the black trim?

I had some leftover Subaru 36Y from my Forester XT restoration. It was close enough, but any gunmetal paint should work. Just match it to the window trim.
