- Today we’re featuring the “Devil Z” Nissan 300ZX Z32 Currently holding the record for quickest and fastest Z32 chassis and unopened factory VG30 engine(long block). FL2K19 was INSANE, it brought out some of the baddest cars in the country to compete!

I love the 300ZX. Even though its almost 30 years old it still looks modern. A timeless classic.
this man is out here showing everyone the vg platform is no slouch.
@Titan mukungurutse for sure but they are not as popular or well known as the 2jz or rb series engines so it is nice to see someone building one and getting some attention.
@@7sins979 funny thing is a vg is probably stronger than a rb
This is what i plan to do with the GM 6cyl Atlas 4.2 and the 3.7 5Cly. One into my Supra and one into a 02 Cavalier. Im SICK of JZ, LS and Kswaps time for something new!
rushking19 but a pain to work on
@@connoisseuroftigolbitts I know but just saying seems like the block itself is stronger then the rb and doesn't crack as easily like the rb
A TRC video that’s not a Supra or Evo.... FINALLY!!!
Lol, have you seen the past 10-20 videos? 🤔
Lol. Ikr. With the exception of Lazcano Racing 6.0 pass a couple years ago no one races this engine in the 1/4 mile.
or a GTR
@@ThatRacingChannel right lol
Or a junk ls 😁👍
this shows proof that the VG platform holds tremendous amount of power, even tho they are hard to work on, alot of Z guys like swapping out the engines and dropping a JZ or an Rb in them not realizing that this platform makes power and has potential, just gotta be willing to put in the work thats it
Is that in America? Over here in England nobody swaps them for other engines. I've seen 1 that had a jz. But that's been broken for parts. I'm SR swapping mine, but that's to save weight/improve handling
Its like the same thing with the 350z and 370z, Vq35de & hr and Vq37vhr can be good motor if you do ton of research. Don't get me wrong, LS, 2jz and Rb swaps are cool and all but its starting getting overrated. Heck the coolest motor swap Ive seen on a Z was chris forsberg VK56 swap in his 370z.
@@CrazyAsisan24 that's interesting you say that. I've seen 2 2jz swapped z33s in the UK and one with a SR20. There is also one with a ls in the British Drift championship. It's one of the very few LS swaps I've ever seen (they are incredibly rare here. I'd love a LS engine. But I could buy 10 2js AND 5 SRs with change left over for what a LS setup would cost).
The z33 is getting popular here. But not many people are boosting them yet. Still too expensive
The Kodiak Z32 these and the 3000gt are pretty underestimated, these tend to hold power better due to factory design but the vr4 is the same way, lots of guys running 500whp on sbe for more than 6 years
Well here in the states, the twin turbo Z was much more common car to see on the streets back then than the Supra (RB was practically unheard of when it came to your average driver in the 90’s). So by the time these turbo Z32’s became more available to mode some years later, a lot of the turbo VG’s in these cars had quite a bit of mileage on them and/or were just worn out from being beat on (actually not as common). Even though these engines had always been stout, they tended to be underrated and the idea of a sequential twin pump set up seemed more practical than an actual dual turbo set up. But the VG in the Z32 was always a world beater. I had a 93 twin turbo about 15 years ago that had over 230,000 miles on it when I bought it and it ran tight. Not even as much as a ticking lifter. This engine ran great for the two years I had the car. I loved it.
Good old VG30DETT...I have NEVER seen a VG30 run that hard, ESPECIALLY a bone stock internals engine. 785/596 on the stock rods and pistons? That's nuts!
612 whp GT3582R EJ8 not that suprising really plenty of those were run hard back in the day. Most likely because JZ, RB all were new and pricey engines.
Now with pretty scarse parts not many people run those, same deal with 7mgte back in a day.
I love vg30/33s. Just stupid expensive to build
Well they cone forged from the factory

The Fairest Lady Z of them all...
Not even close. The REAL Devil Z, the Mid Night Club's 1978 280ZX is the greatest Z that has ever existed.
Mine made 666whp years back and got the nickname.,
Well there is the devil z and the original midnight club 280z but still 300zx is so underrated
@@Doormatte I hope to god you mean the Z31, because the Z32 is the most overrated besides the 350.
Xero Delacroix go watch your anime kid.
The 300zx has always been my favorite looking car... hands down one of the best nissan vehicles ever made!
My dad has a cherry red one. Love that thing. Has it putting out like 380hp with minimal upgrades.
I've mentioned this on a 1320vid but I love seeing vids on Z's more than 2000hp Lambo's and GTR's.
I know u talkin about that dude in the Red Z that got gapped by the camaro, I remember ur comment cus i relate to it
Nobody:
TRC: Let's replay the same run 3x
Z32 are so sick. Such an underrated platform and car 🙏🙏
Howley F00k not really. If you look it up, they both weigh about the same lol. So no, definitely not too heavy :)
@Howley F00k
The slick top NA is around 3100lbs. The twin turbo with its Hicas system is heavy.
Howley F00k you do realize how almost no cars now weigh less less 3200lbs
They look nice but they were hard to keep running because of reliability issues. This guy's motor seems to be an anomaly.
@H Con I've heard of a lot of people that gave up on them after adding horsepower and always running into problems. Maybe stock or close to stock they aren't that bad. I've heard they run great, when they run at all. The platform to have in that era is the GSX or the Talon with the 7 bolt 4G63
Finally a 300zx vg engine without swap makes me feel good
Thanks for showing the Z community how its done! So sick of everyone claiming true clean 800hp. Devil Z has been putting down the real numbers since day 1. The one and only VG properly tuned right on youtube lmao
As a Z FANBOY this is a pleasure to see
I agreee
Such awesome motor! Always had big hopes for the VG30 and wish it got more support back in the 2000's to show everyone that it's a better engine than the popular RB26.
RB > ALL.
I'm a MOPAR guy, but I've always liked the Datsun/Nissan Z series, since the 240Z! VERY IMPRESSIVE!
A man of good taste, I see. The best of Japan AND American cars. The Hellephant crate engine is bonkers

So glad the z32 was never riced out in the first fast and the furious movie. To classy in every way. Owned mine for 20 years now.
The fast and furious is a fucking awful movie

A stock TT Manual 300ZX in New Zealand goes for between $7-12k (NZD) depending on mods.
When these cars came out, which was the same time as the R32 GTR, The Z had the same kw rating but had more torque due to the higher displacement.
The reason most people swap them isn't for power but for engine bay space. They built the car around the VG design so everything is super tight, He's lucky to fit those turbos down there and most probably why he's running an internal gate setup.
Also, high-performance parts for these back in the day were hard to come by because everyone was buying the RB platform in Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
And now, 20k. Covid tax -.-
I knew I recognized you! That Devil Z is a beast, also congrats on the chassis and suspension tuning, that thing flies as straight as an arrow!
“I don’t understand how but it does.” Pretty much sums up my life lol

Congrats to the owner. I def remem the Netflix episode...i used to have a non 2+2 which got me into 'liking' i actually did it for the ladies ...absolutely ridiculous think back on that. 91 300z TT was my very first car. I've owned 3 twin turbos since. They are absolutely my favorite car of all time. I love these things. Awesome seeing a stock motor 300Z run in the 8s.
785 WHP ON STOCK ENGINE Z32. And as he mentioned over 200 pass's on it! Car factories please just start taking notes on hot to make a timeless car with super reliable engine! Guys, THIS IS A 30 YEARS OLD CAR !
That guy has some work ethic. You can tell he’s been chipping away at this for years.
Loved that he knew all the info and specs off the top of his head, not referring to a builder etc
This is very unusaul seeing VG30 in american drag racing. Despite the fact this engine has seen sucess in IMSA racing at the Sebring 12 hours,Daytona 24 hours and Le Mans 24 back in the mid 90s. Lazcano Racing got a VG30 to a 6.08 in the 1/4 mile a couple years ago too.

@@LXR88TY I just couldnt remember the date but yes,I know they used the oem cast iron block. I had a picture of the engine.
The vg30 platform is a rock solid platform but it's a shame it never got the after market support like the 2jz and RB engines did.
It's mainly just how hard it is to get to some parts and that plenum, but give a na motor some love, with a whole lot of deletes, and some good paint and you got you a real nice looking track demon
We actually do have quite a lot of aftermarket support. There's literally an aftermarket part for everything. I think even recently someone made a billet block for the vg
2jz this and that been there done that! Easy to work on for sure but love my vg! With deletes working on vg isnt bad at all it's second nature now. Sure I cant swap turbos in an hr but mine has been reliable with 170k miles on original drivetrain. Plan to go turbo on my gs300 to get a taste of gte
Nissan should not just restart the RB26 production but the others like VG series, VH45, RB20 as well and have Nismo supplying aftermarket parts as well.
8.91 on a stock motor... that’s amazing. True testament to what Nissan had invested in their Z32 VG platform back in the 90’s. Japanese car companies certainly weren’t messing around when it came to the bread n butter under the hood of their premier sports cars. Purposely over-engineered.
JUN Auto's Bonneville Z was VG as well?
Did anyone else see the van just run an 11..... lol
No I'm blind
D YNG just making sure. That was more impressive
I've talked to Dean a few times. Cool ass dude. Seen my boy Ian standing tall there with him at the end too!

Impressive statistics. It's mind blowing to see how much boost a standard z32 engine can handle. Thanks for sharing.

When a Z with a stock motor beats the Supra with a 2j stock motor record. To think the supra even had a 4 link... #vgtheworld
Jason300zxTT lol the highest hp Supra stock internals is over 1000whp
Street Mods and? The supra’s record for fastest stock motor quarter mile was done using a automatic / 4 link car. That supra ran 8.97.
Street Mods also keep in mind... Deans power he speaks about in the video was done through an auto trans. Wonder what it would make with a 5 speed behind it?
Jason300zxTT ok makes sense
LXR Tyree exactly. If the z32s fan base was as big the Supra. It would be miles ahead in performance and aftermarket support.
Great job , love it !
Thanks for the motivation to keep building mine! 😁
His launches and timing are impeccable though,

So sad about the white car😢 Loved watching it on RWYB back in the day 💪🏼. Glad to see him get a feature on here 👌🏼
The 300 ZED EX and vg30dett was a very underrated car and engine. It's good to see someone actually build a sub 10 sec one and it not just be a dyno queen or hard parker.
The supra is where its at bc of so much aftermarket r&d/dedicated shops/specialized techs. Cant wait to see the 300zx catch up to it.
great vid this fool doing work.

VG30 for ever...true twin turbo not sequential spanking those 2JZ omgg.😎
@Vinny Booboo if you say so buddy.
@Vinny Booboo I never saw the Toyota Supra get banned from professional racing for being too fast and powerful during it's production. But the main reasons why everyone one runs a 2JZ is because one. We know it's because of the fast and the furious which without a doubt brought more light to the 2JZ. 2. The 2JZ does make a lot of crazy power on factory internals but so can the can the the VG30. 3. Popularity. See reason one. But now also tack on because of RUclips videos. Which are a direct result of reason one and two. They were both over built and over-engineered engines. One just got more attention than the other. I will concede to the point that the VG is a bit of a pain in the ass to work on inside the chassis of a z32. It's pretty cramped in there. But the 2JZ was a workhorse engine and is the power plant for a number of Toyota's/Lexus vehicles. Sound familiar? It should. It is pretty much the Japanese LS engine. A workhorse capable of all kinds of abuse and keep going. The VG is very similar.
So let's just appreciate all of these engines and what they can do and have a good time.
Edit: oh. And as far as records are concerned. In the professional racing world. The vg30 z32 dominated every single race it was in until they banned it.
@Vinny Booboo Coming from someone who has a 6spd 2jz supra ill tell you this it boils down to one thing. Its easy to work on simple and plain. Ive had 300zx TT in the past but back then JW was saying the max hp on a stock block was 500whp and it would cost you like 20k.
@Vinny Booboo Stock motor Supra record is an 8.97 vs the 8.91 here. That car also had cams, whereas this VG is stock everything internally. So which records am I looking at again?
Only thing 2JZ outright has for it is a bigger aftermarket. Thankfully the VG is starting to get properly noticed to remedy that issue.
I'm not saying otherwise...2JZ is a great engine and has all the world records as of now..but the V6 is coming back as the GTR is making 2,000HP on a stock block and weights in at 4,500lbs not billet soo be on the look out for more REAL TWINS smashing records it just take time..ooh by the way the Z32 has a record of 6.2 in the 1/4 mile..and for your info the 2JZ just broke the record again with a 5.55 1/4 mile VENENUM racing from Puerto rico such a small island with all the records when it come to 2JZ and Rotary but don't take my word for it just look it up here on RUclips...and like they say Puerto Rico does it better....🇵🇷
Z32 forever 🔥🔥
