I have a Hayward S244S sand filter. So, you're saying that the sand filter doesn't need to be manually filled with water before starting the pump. So, in the spring when I reopen the pool, I just need to set the valve to backwash and then rinse afterwards. I seen some information out there where the top lid on the sand filter was removed and people were manually filling the tank up before starting the pump.
I decided to call Mark about the above issue, and I must say Mark is very knowledgeable and very friendly. I want to thank him again for his help and great advice. Great success to your company and best wishes to him and his staff.
@@stuzman52 When you open the pool and put everything back together, you can prime the pump and it will automatically fill the filter. Thanks for watching.
Love your videos. Question about the pool cover. I’m opening some pools, how do I clean the cover and fold it away for storage. I don’t have time to wait hours for it to dry. Any thoughts? Do I have to worry about mildew?
Clean and wash the cover off, use a blower to dry. If the cover isn’t 100% dry you can fold and you will be fine, the cover will dry. Thanks for watching.
Best tutorials for pools. Im in Canada 🥶 .. we inherited a T shaped styrofoam skimmer guard and am curious if thats just as good as the plastic dealy? 🙏
The skimmer guard has nothing to do with antifreeze. If pool antifreeze was used (not automotive) you will be fine. I would recommend that you have your water tested at your local pool store.
Watch this every year for a refresher. Thanks from Va🤙🏾

Our filter system is above pool. Should we fill the sand pump to prime the pump?
No, when the pump is primed it will fill the filter with water automatically. Thanks for watching.
Thanks!!

Either one is fine, thanks for watching.
Can you please use that bucket in pool and show practically, i repeatedly watched the video 5 times but i don't get it,
When I take the skimmer guard out will there still be some antifreeze present and is that an issue if it is?

When in filter mode should both drains remain open?
Both skimmer and drain are open in the filter mode.
What about when in backwash and rinse mode - drain and skimmer open or closed?
