Hi Trev and sorry for going off-topic, but through your privileged links with both Jon Cain AND Steve Perry, you're probably the only one who could give a definitive answer to this question: there's this mysterious video posted on YT in 2012 called _“Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain - Music Demo”,_ and since that time there have been heated debates in its comment section and on at least 4 dedicated Melodic Rock forums about the authorship of this song (apparently initially called _“We all want to be loved”)..._
Could you please get the main people involved to confirm whether it's actually them singing / playing keyboard on this demo, or whether it's just Jon with another singer (e.g. Mickey Thomas or Kevin Chalfant?), or whether it's not even a composition by your father-in-law? 🙏

On the recordings the bass player's been Josh Paul. I'm not sure what they do for the live performances
