Wow. Congrats on a very complex passage. Don't think I would take my boat with 2 meters of draft into such dangerous waters --- even with good charts. Bravo to both of you on pulling this off without incident.
Thanks Patrick - it was a bit scary but club members use it on a fairly regular basis and we had quite a bit of advice from experienced skippers before setting off. We did another restricted-waters passage a week later that was (for me) far scarier. We are still perfecting our version of your "Docking stick"
We loved it too. One of our favourite passages - pure champagne sailing and the start to a lovely summer cruise. Part of the reason we do these videos is it makes a video diary for us. Sometimes it is nice to look back at what we have done and this is one of our favourites.
Indeed. Somebody is STILL making a fortune putting up even more of them. From a distance they are an eyesore, from up close they are amazing engineering.
@@SailingYachtSaltyLass I used to work for a company that (I was in a different division) put those up here in the States. The company laughed its way to the bank because when you looked at the numbers they were not cost effective without large subsidies. In other words without taxpayer money being thrown at them they aren't economically viable, and those were land-based units in the Dakotas. Just let that sink in.....

That's my dream over next few years
Go for it!
I was looking for videos as we are planning to go to Conwy on Saturday, first time sailing on our yacht. This is very interesting thanks for sharing.
We actually have a few on Conwy. I will include our Wales playlist for you. Enjoy your sail. :-)
