My grandfather was born in Chihuahua too. I recently found her channel and I just love it. Yesterday I made flour tortillas for the first time since my grandmother showed me. It brought back so many memories and made me feel like my grandmother was looking down on me smiling...and telling me to turn up the music 😄
Thank you for sharing not only a delicious recipe but also demonstrating how a loving, kind, patient, wise MAMA should interact with her children in the kitchen and elsewhere. May God continue to bless you and your gift of cooking. Once again, THANK YOU 😊
I think it’s wonderful that you’re cooking with your son. It’s important to learn family, recipes, and tradition. Something he will treasure when he grows up.
I’ve commented on a couple of your videos. My husband is active military and I’m working a covid unit. A couple of days ago was our first anniversary and we could not be together so we both went out and got these ingredients and made them through FaceTime. Thank you for being a part of our little family!
Janet F. Oh love no, I won’t talk about that in this channel however my husband is currently in a different battle station. So that’s the only reason we couldn’t be together.
Your tone of voice and manner of speaking is perfect, along with the lovely family values that you speak as you cook. It is QUITE refreshing to me to find someone who doesn't make silly comments or chatters too much; I am here to learn your recipes and methods, not to be spoken softly to OR entertained...lol THX for being YOU and for sharing your sweet sons! Blessings to your family!
You are so perfect as a Mother! Your boys are very lucky to have you; showing them and teaching them how to cook with love!!! My son when he was older would videotape me cooking various of our favorite meals…I lost him four years ago and still view our videos with me cooking and his voice talking to me! Too precious 😢…forget the people who make negative comments…most of us love you and your easy style of cooking…keep them coming!
I think your tone of voice is fine. Some RUclipsrs speak so softly, you can't hear them. Some people just want to complain about something. You videos are great, I appreciate them. I married a man from Mexico and had no idea what to cook for him. I found your videos and he loves my cooking now!! 💖 Thank you so much!

Love you ladies and what you do😊💕
My boyfriend was asking me to make him enchiladas they way he remembered from his childhood. With ground beef. I think your recipe will go beyond what he is expecting. I can’t wait to try it.
You did not say what the oven temperature is. Other than that this is a very helpful video and I can’t wait to try the recipe. however I never use bouillon cubes. you can just use chicken stock instead of water and get the same affect.
I was just saying to myself, oh I really like the way she talks, so plain and to the exact point, and then you said, about people saying you talk abrupt, see everyone is different! I enjoy your recipies and you. Thank you!
I love your tone - I don't hear any "abruptness" - just confidence. Your speech and instructional video make me feel like I am almost there with you! GREAT RECIPE... I learned new techniques --- toasting/incorporating the chili powder in the oil!

He loves them and so did my daughter… I’d have to say they were way better than I’ve ever made or tasted… thank you so much for sharing this recipe…
Tex-Mex enchiladas are not something I grew up with, but I love them. I like that you are not wasteful & use up everything to the last drop--authentic!

Very similar to my mother's! And she learned from friends back in the 50's. My birthday dinner choice every year!! Her original enchiladas were shredded beef, but evolved to ground beef over the years. Our entire family loves them! Loved your wonderful video.
You never sound “rude” so whoever told you that is very wrong! I think you speak great & all the videos I’ve watched I thought you were always very sweet! #Love your assistant! So sweet!❤️
I think it is absolutely critically important for SONS to learn how to cook from their Mothers. Not only that, I promise you, these will be memories they will treasure in years to come. Some of my fondest and most cherished memories are of puttering around the kitchen watching and learning from my Mother who we lost this past Oct at the age of 88. I never realized until later in life how much I gleaned from watching and doing simple things-things she patiently allowed me to screw up, then gently showing me the correct way to peel potatoes, wash rice, dice an onion, etc.
You’re so delightful to watch. You’re so passionate about your food and family!! I love you and your sisters cheerful smiles and the songs you throw into your videos ❣️
Finally! A recipe I can make with ingredients that are easily accessible. I can’t wait to make this for my family, Thank you so much for sharing with Us 🙌🏼
I enjoy your recipes and videos. I miss my cousins Mexican cooking. You are making yours like she did. Her Spanish rice had fried bacon, potatoes, and rice. She put cilantro, chili powder ,tomatoes diced, and some tom juice.she had other spices like peppers that I can't have because of allergies . Thank you for sharing your recipes.
Made this today with your rice and homemade corn tortillas recipes. This dinner was a hit! I added refried beans, salad, and guacamole. Thank you so much!!!
I finally found a channel that makes enchiladas the way my mom used to make them. I could never figure out how or what the red sauce was but now that I see this, I remember now. Good job and welcome to my family. She too had a gas stove, which makes the food taste even better and it’s such a beautiful thing to have your son watching the way that you cook and letting him participate because when he grows up and has a family of his own he will be able to share this moment with his family.
Oh. My. God. This recipe has SAVED me! I live in Colorado now but grew up in Texas. The Mexican/Tex Mex food scene here in Denver is ATROCIOUS. I just made your recipe today, and I could not stop licking my fingers! The sauce is so good, and the filling seasoning is perfection! It takes me back to my Texas instantly. Thanks so much for sharing!
I absolutely adore you! To me you explain everything perfectly! Thank you for all the recipes you take time to show us and share! ... and making my husband think I’m the best cook ever 😆
It's nice you treat your boy with gentle respect. It's clear he's a good son. Smiles, Latino culture is so nice. My mom is from Guadalajara. God bless you guys. Good luck with your channel.

So relaxing and enjoyable watching you cook! The recipe? Amazing! Can't wait to try it! You are so CALM in the kitchen! Makes me look forward to providing a new twist on tex mex night for the family!!!
These recipes remind me of the food we ate when I lived in Texas. It's been a long time since I've tasted anything close but when I found you, I was home. Thank you so much for sharingg these incredible dishes. Love to watch and then know my dish will come out delicious, too. My favorite is tamales and watching you with that masa let me know it was a labor of love. About your being abrupt..where? Some people read stuff where there's no stuff to read. You are delightful, everything about your channel is delightful!
Priceless upload. My Mom and Nana and Aunts used to give me jobs in the kitchen. I think that's why I love cooking today. Many years later. Thank you for this upload. And Thank you Mom and Nana. ♥️
I just made these for the 3rd time for all the staff at work. I appreciate your time and effort to bring this forth. Simple for anyone to make and enjoy
My mother just passed away last year. This is the 1st recipe she's ever taught me when I was about 12 yearesold my boys love these I make it every birthday for my. Boys
Never thought you spoke abruptly at all. You are clear and loud enough to hear and happy. You really need thick skin to be on here and be picked apart for anything. Gonna make these for bingo potluck, thankyou
I know this was 3yrs ago but I'm so excited cause my husband and I would love this!!! My hubby used to say he could make a mean enchilada. I feel like I can now have a little confidence and get him in the kitcen. Your children are so sweet and you are such a friendly and loving Mama. My Mom never made these but loved them. She passed in 2012 sadly.
Your boys are absolutely adorable, and the enchiladas look amazing! A friend of mine had taught me how to make it a long time ago with dried chiles the really giant red ones. I think they were maybe poblanos or are they anchos after they're smoked? or something I don't remember. She was from New Mexico and instead of rolling them they layered them. Dip the tortilla in the red sauce, add a layer of meat, cheese onions black olives, then another tortilla and just stack up two or three layers like that and then top it with the lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream. They were so amazing and yours look just as good. So now I'm off to look at your chili powder recipe. Because yeah there is nothing you can buy in a store that compares to making your own. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos!
They are New Mexico dried red chilis, usually very hot & yummy (NOT Poblanos or anchos), they are especially grown in New Mexico. Just the ripened & dried version of green chilis. Seeds can be found in packets, "Big Jim New Mex' is one variety. You can buy the dried chili powder, much easier for sauces. I was taught to layer them, & often we had a fried egg on top. I was born in New Mexico, as was most of my family, we're Spanish, not Mexican, but adopted much of the cuisine south of us
I am so glad I came across you! I lost my grandma so young... I have none of my mexican heritage to fall back onto. I went into the foster system. It is terribly sad.
@Purple Cottage College Mom, but you're here now, you're pursuing an education, and we have your back while you're here. Put away the past after you've learned from it and why you're here. It will come to you if you're patient and still at some point every day. Be well. We wish you that and more.
Girl.......I love your food. I'm like your husband my mouth is away's watering when you cook. I also have a son like yours.....he won't eat anything broken even as a little boy. If his cookie broke he cried and wanted another one. anyway keep up your great work and great cooking. You are so sweet to share everything with us.
Hola!!!!! I'm born and raised in Houston, Texas and parents were born here, grandparents from Mexico. I never learned how to cook Mexican mainly because Mom would be so hurried in the kitchen. You and your sweet son made this so easy (kind of) that I will try this soon. Thanks so much Stephanie!!!! You aren't rude or abrupt....thanks
I’m going to make these today! 😋😋😋. When I make enchiladas with corn tortillas, I always fry them till golden, then soak them in the sauce to soften a bit for rolling up. The added frying step also really adds flavors to the tortillas.
Your Babies are SO PRECIOUS! I Love them. Thank you so so much for this Chili recipe. I’m so thankful that I can watch you do this. I’ve been trying and trying to figure this out. It’s about time I learned, at 60 years young. Blessings 🙏💗
I'm Texas born too & it's nice to see someone else use black olives. This is my 3 time of watching your channel. I am enjoying how you make your recipes. I just love how you are showing your boys how to cook..

The thing that I loved about Mexican cuisine is that it is so versatile. Meat plus cheese, tortillas, and any veggie. Grill, fry, bake. Oh yeah!!!
Hey!!! I'm so happy to see someone who is still using black olives in the recipes !!!!!

What a great Mom. You can tell how much you're kids are loved. Made these Enchiladas and they are terrific!
@Castlebury21 f
She sure is a good mom. I can tell.
Yes I liked watching her make the Enchiladas, but her interaction with her two boys brought tears to my eyes.
I add just a little brown sugar to my homemade enchiladas sauce
Start with a table spoon and if you don’t don’t like it that sweet you can do 1/2 tbs
You did not say what the oven temperature is. Other than that this is a very helpful video and I can’t wait to try the recipe. however I never use bouillon cubes. you can just use chicken stock instead of water and get the same affect.

Lovely family recipe, your son is so respectful and a dote... Greetings from Ireland 🍀🇮🇪
Adorable! Your babies melted my heart! I can’t wait until I can teach my little one how to cook. ♥️
I like that you show us the whole process instead of cutting the film to make it shorter.
Boys
This is how my mom made enchiladas and its my favorite dish!!! Good to see this :)
These look so delicious!! I have to try them! I don't find you abrupt at all, pleasure to watch! Thanks for the recipe!!!
Great recipe! I love how patient, positive & encouraging u r with ur kids!!
Gracias Keshia😘
She sure is. You can tell not a nasty bone in her body.
Mommas love cooking for their boys!!!
I was born in New Mexico, as was most of my family, we're Spanish, not Mexican, but adopted much of the cuisine south of us

thanks so much Eleanor. I really appreciate the info!
I am so glad I came across you!
I lost my grandma so young... I have none of my mexican heritage to fall back onto. I went into the foster system. It is terribly sad.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I'm here to share what I know🤗
I am so sorry that you lost your family. Sending 🙏
@@grammyb5216 thank you!!!
But now you know. :)
@Purple Cottage College Mom, but you're here now, you're pursuing an education, and we have your back while you're here. Put away the past after you've learned from it and why you're here. It will come to you if you're patient and still at some point every day. Be well. We wish you that and more.
Thanks so much for the great recipe. I followed it to the T and my kids and I loved it!!! My first time making enchiladas ever ❤
I love how you encourage your children while teaching them how to cook :) Good video and good family moment.
I love how you involve your family when you cook!! I hope to do that with my future children someday!!
Been binge watching your videos the past few days can't wait to try a lot of your recipes! Especially this one I think my family will love it!
just wanted to thank you for sharing the recipes i love watching your cooking and the fact you take time and make it easy to follow and make at home
I love enchiladas and I'm definitely going to make these, and I love olives.
