I'm a newer watcher and am very impressed with you and your carvings. The first video I watched I thought "This guy is ths Bob Ross of the carving world."
The cyclops with pickle is amazing!!
Searching for the proper word for your carving videos, I came up “approachable”. Enough details to make it interesting, but basic enough fir us newer carvers to take on without fear. Keep’em coming. God bless.
Good choice Kevin, "Approachable"
Greetings from the UK great tutorial Doug thanks for sharing
Doug, I'm not a carver/ whittler, but I enjoy your video's so much. There's just something about an artesian/maker work that has such a calming effect on me. Thank you for for the bushcraft vids as well, especially the ones with "young Joseph". They end up being hilarious.
Doug I've told you before but man... you are such an inspiration. Your gnomes and monster guys are fantastic. I especially love the extra touches like a pickle on a stick and the ducky on a leash! Totally whimsical! These guys should have their own cartoon series!
Just watched the video start to finish on my tablet and first thank you! My gosh I’m going to be having some fun with this guy. 😂 Cracked me up!! And I needed something like it to get my mind away from all the crazy.
You are the best teacher I have ever watched! Thank you!!
Following watching several of you tutorials at the age of 64 I have now taken up carving. Many thanks for spending the time to make these videos.
Hi from the UK... The completed elves house, looks absolutely magical. You are so good at carving, Doug.
The Gnomes will get very upset at being called elves.
Thanks for sharing your talent.
Been waiting for this for a long time 👍
I love these guys. Can’t wait to try it
There’s absolutely no reason for this podcast to ever get a down vote.
Awesome as always! I love seeing your tutorials
Looking forward to doing this project thanks Doug 🇬🇧
Terrific tutorial!!
Awesome, thanks again Doug ! 👍
This is to adorable. Thanks
the cyclops is so cute! I'm giving that one a go!!
Always fun, always helpful, and I always learn something. Thanks for all you do for us.
Love your imagination and skills.
I love your tutorials Doug! Just started carving and lots of practice to do and your tutorials keep me going cause there are so many things I want to do or do again to improve my skills. Now I want to have a go on this guy to.
Glad you are back to carving like you use too.👍
I’d love to hear your take on this -not sure the difference
For any new carvers that think you need the rarer than Big Foot Helvie or Drake knives, look at that chip removal with a $25 OCC.
Its stropped properly and in the hands of a carver that has done this hundreds of times.
Awesome as always. Thanks, Doug!
I love the noise that makes when you cut it
Love the variations!
Thank you , Mr Doug .
Outstanding as usual!
great video Dough, very clear and informative, you guy could be a great teacher.
Well done Doug! 👍😁
Your are one of my favorites for sure. God bless you :) 👍👍✨✨😊✔✨
Really cool Doug, just finishing your owls for my granddaughter, better add a few of these in the mix, she will love them! Package it all up with your lie detector sticks and grandpas pretty special thanks to you. Love all your content, from the search for adventure, bushcraft, canoe trips, to the whimsical carvings, many thanks.
You have a crazy but cool imagination. These will be fun to try and make as I learn to carve Thank you Doug. Jim's wood shop
It's very cool. Good job Doug 😉👍
This Bigfoot was really good fun to make, with so many of your own to copy for style and colour I'm sure I'll make several. Thanks for another super video Doug.
VERY RELAXING TO WATCH!
THANK YOU DOUG! 🙏
These are so beautiful! (Flower with a little smiley face on it made my day) Thank you for your wonderful tutorials!
You're an absolute legend!
Yay! Finally.. Sasquatch! Shouldn’t he be holding beef jerky?? Lol
It's a samsquamch
Love these , thanks Doug 👍
Thanks Doug, super fun to watch. Appreciate the hand carving, it was very helpful. You explained and demonstrated it very clearly. Two thumbs up.
I browsed a lot of your videos while waiting on my wood and tools to arrive. This is the one I looked forward to the most. It took a lot of self-discipline to practice on an easier one first, LOL. I'm kind of a bigfoot fanatic and it turned out great. Thanks for the instruction, sir.
OMG you big foot character are so darn cute. My fav is the one with the duck💖
Glad to see you did these Doug. I've been waiting although all we had to do was make a person and v tool hair instead of clothes. Keep up the good work!
Inside elbow is ‘the crook of the arm’... great work as ever x
I said “crook” out loud like he could hear me. Made me laugh.
Doug, you are the Bob Ross of Whittling.. Keep it going!

FINALLY ! Awesome video ! Just watched it through, can't wait to experiment with some carvings, Thank You !
Always a joy spending time with your videos. I am a wannabe carver. I bought all the tools, but they forgot to include the skills.
Excited to try this variation 😊
Thank You Doug!
Love it!!!! Going to be fun. Thanks very much, Doug!😃👍
Great tutorial! I love the Bigfoot idea and the variations you came up with. Very creative!
Hello from Germany, I love all your carvings and I love carving since I learned it from Sharon my Art. I've been carving for 5 years now and following all of your films. Thanks for your many great tips, Doug. And by the way, I think your beard looks really great.
I have been wanting to do a Bigfoot & I’m so glad you did this video.
I got started wood carving a year ago after viewing a Doug Linker vid. I'm still carving.
Thank you Doug! Fun caving!
You're Bob Ross... but with a knife. haha
Very enjoyable to watch, thank you for sharing your talent.
The "Bob Ross" of woodcarving. 👍🏻
You’ve been busy, thanks! (Hello from Invermere BC).
Doug ..your ideas are the best .. your imagination in creating far surpasses any ideas I have ..you are the best buddy
Thanks Gene! But let’s be honest here, you’ve made thousands of ideas come to life compared to my handful 👍👊

Missed you Dougster, great video, it’s always a great journey with y’all Canadians.✌️😇🌲🪵🦫🌲
My favorite is the one showing his teeth! haha hilarious! Great video Doug!!
Awesome!
what a pleasant channel to stumble upon!!! I’ve even working with clay for a bit for pins but I think trying out whittling might be a fun change up! totally love your work:D
Cool video! Time for you to get out and do some fishing! Lol
Another fun and great learning video Doug! Would be cool to see a video tour of your workspace.
I make wonderfull woodspirit's thanks to you! Many thanks i learn alot from your video,s
Doug don't under estimate your teaching your doing a great job. Also you need to put a coffee cup in the hand .Because of your videos I got back in to carving. I'll soon be 71 keep up the carving!
Doug another great little project. Thanks I’ll get the coffee’s in
I live in the land of Bigfoot, ha!!
We even have a museum all about the Bigfoot so this is extra fun and cute for me/ thanks Doug❗️✌🏼
Thanks
Love it doug. Thanks for doing a samsquanch. Cant wait till you get out in the bush. Would love to see you carve green birch/poplar/spruce that's pretty well all I've got up here. That basswood makes it look like butter
Ha my first thought was Doug has carved the BLOB OPERA. Thanks for the tutorial.
Doug thank you for showing us new carvers that you don't need to have a Helvie Knife to try to carve. Have some OCC and they work just fine for what I'm doing. Would love to try a Helvie. But at this time to hard to get .
I just love this video, going to try one but a troll type and glue on some hair . I’ll let you know how it works
Amazing talent you have for many crafty things. :-).
Thanks again doug. I hope I can do one like urs. The babies would love it
Beautiful wood carving. Linker is very talented. But I’m a weekend neophyte and he left me behind some time ago.
Thanks for sharing. That one big foot looks like my son-in-law. Thanks again.
Hey Doug, so thankful that I found your channel. I reckon you gave me the carving bug. Tim in UK
Thank you for all what you share for us plz mention for basic sizes for knives and gauges that every one should have in his bench .
That will be a separate video
@@dougLinker may i ask if you recommend diamonds whetstone for sharpening knives ?
Nice pencil Doug! I got to get me one of those they are ingenious!
It’s not Bigfoot, it’s Darell 😂
I love watching your videos , they’re not only interesting to watch and learn from, but also your mannerism and approach to teaching reminds me of Bob Ross (I keep waiting for you to say his “happy little” phrase 🤗).
There is one cartoon character (pretty old) that would be interesting to carve but looks like no-one didn't do it maybe you Doug can try. A character would be Calimero cartoon from '70
