    Bar none, this is the absolute hardest mod I've ever undertaken on my computer, and I'm in disbelief because the results im getting from your tool are perfect. I feel like a pro. I've done 14 cables so far with it and haven't had to redo one. Spent $130 bucks on materials, your tool was the best $10. THANK YOU!

    Good thing Aaron pointed that out. We might have had to use his videos to sleeve.

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  11 лет назад +1

    Yes you have the power to do what you want, but within the limits of the oem pinout of the psu and your case and how your choose to sleeve it and what materials. All of my shops tool and wire and sleeve are directed to make sleeving easier and to make your cables easier to train and stay in place.

    @ThePCGam3r I do recommend getting the pre-cut heatshrink cuts from MDPC, it will save you tons of time and allow you to get a clean look.

  • @HardwareAddiction
    @HardwareAddiction 11 лет назад

    I tried it today for the first time and I noticed something ! Lutro is using a reducer on his heat-gun. I wasn't using my reducer until now and each time the heat went over the sleeve, it caused it to mess up pretty bad (I couldn't precisely direct the heat. So although not pointed out in the video, you should definitely throw the reducer on the heat-gun before attempting to sleeve. First attempt didn't go well, but 2nd attempt, I got a PERFECT result! All you have to do is follow precisely. :)

    Apparently Corsair PSU's have some special hitches thrown in, due to split wires and all that jazz... Great to know, since that will be my first ever sleeving job.

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  11 лет назад +1

    You can find the pinout from the maker of the psu, but it will take some work getting it right again. I always draw my own pinout before removing any cables first.

    Thanks for the guide. I was able to do an Corsair PSU cables with it for a friend. Now since i've bought myself Seasonic 660W fully modular I'm gonna refabricate whole cables to less lenght to have less cable tidy work in my rig. Still great vids and im still be doing some of your tips'n'trick to pimp my rig aswell.

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  11 лет назад +1

    Crimping is making the cable yourself, you take the same crimps on a psu wire and use a ratchet tool to crimp it. Check out my store lutro0 customs com

  • @Manilla3150
    @Manilla3150 12 лет назад

    I have the same psu, once you get the tool in the connector tap on it ( i used small pliers) a few times to get a good grip on the crimp, I wore gloves to get a decent grip on the wire and connector and pulled and it will come out. It definitely takes some patience tho but I picked up on it after i did a couple

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  11 лет назад +1

    look t the original mdpc guide with heatshrink,They will come out but seasonic made their matrials hard to depin so there is no tool that would be perfect so yo need to give them a tug, if you rip one out no worries just recrimp it. To get it out get a small vice grip and some bobbyoins for hair cut off sll the silly parts so you have a long flat edge measure it out so it goes only the lenght it needs to go and insert once and each side

    Sometimes it takes alot of force, push the wire into the connector, then incert the tool, then pull the wire straight out.

    adi you are right, I just assumed after seeing it on the video you all would use one.

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  11 лет назад +1

    You will want to use larger heatshrink then your sleeve. 3/16 or 1/4th 4:1 or 3:1

    The pretty hard as corsair ones have a little trick to discourage people from doing it. But you need to bend the tip of the inserting tip
    a little to the inside (i do it with a smashed paper clip or a staple so i font ruin the tool) and that does the job

    Hi Lutro
    First of all o think your guides are the best. I have a problem though. When i tried to remove a 6 pin pcie i must have used too much force and the cable broke with the pin in the connector. Is there a way to remove the pin without destroying the connector?

    Any idea where i can buy this? The website overseas is down and cant catch it online. Also does the kit come with enough to do 24pin, 2 580s worth of power, 8 fans, 2 koolance pumps with a speed controller(24v), CPU and all the usual cables? Nice guide, Im glad i watched before i ordered. Also, if im going to go through the trouble of sleeving everything, I want to make custom cable lengths as well. Do you know of a kit? The wire is no problem but the molex terminations might be. subbed

    I have a seasonic x750, and i have spent 2 hours trying to remove the pins. I have the mdpc tool, and i can't get a single pin out. I hear the click, i've pulled and pulled, it doesn't work. :[

    Hi i was wondering where do you find the diagrams to make sure that the wires go into the right spot. I really want to sleeve my power supply cables right now for my seasonic x 850 watt 80 plus gold. i'm not sure how to get the stuff required to do this but the sleeving part isn't too bad.

    What size sleeving is that, and how many feet would you recommend if I was to sleeve out a 24 pin, 8pin eps, and 2 or 3 8pin PCIe connectors? Never sleeved before but I'm putting together a new computer with a window in it and I can't have it not looking tip top.

    What size of a cable are you using for this ?
    I guess that this size will do fine for all psu cables .
    Great tutorial overall !

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  12 лет назад

    @9705870 Some people use staples and other methods but hands down you will want to get a ORIGINAL MOLEX TOOL, don't get any of the kits as they break and down work right. I have heard so many bad things about all of the other tools, and the only one that has worked perfectly is the molex tool. I have a link to it in my tools guide.

      It was a custom 18awg stranded copper wire with a slightly thicker insulation that was ordered from china. I was pretty OCD about getting it just right but the seller came through.

  • @Johnny87Au
    @Johnny87Au 10 лет назад

    Hey man if i want to make my own custom 24 pin etc, do i just purchase your cables, the pins and just sleeve and pin the 24 cables straight into the 24pin plug? Like it doesnt matter what order right if that makes sense??

    • @lutro0customs
      @lutro0customs  9 лет назад

      Yes it does matter what the pinout is, the motherboard and hardware side is always an atx standard but the psu side is always different and up to the psu maker.

  • @lutro0customs
    @lutro0customs  12 лет назад

    @rfizzle Hey bud. I have to say that kit is bad news. No hard feeling to the maker of it, but ive heard nothing but bad things about it. The original molex tool is bar none the best. If you check out my facebook page I just explained this to someone else as well as showed him where to buy the original molex tool. Please refer to that.

      Check out the heatshrinkless guide for plastic sleeving - that method is much much easier.

  • @davidnguyen5936
    @davidnguyen5936 10 лет назад

    Couldn't you just put the entire thing over the wire and then mark where the sleeving should end and then take it off and cut it?

    • @lutro0customs
      @lutro0customs  10 лет назад

      If you mean for measuring the wire then yes you could and if you find it easier then it would not be a bad method. However IMO I find it to take extra time also for MDPC you have to stretch it pretty tight to get good coverage so I measure from fixed points keeping in mind that I need to stretch it. I hope that answers your question. =)
