I just picked up this book at one of my neighborhood’s “little libraries.” Really enjoying it-and this fun interview. Thanks for posting this video.

TIM, I picked up your book 40 years ago. best ten bux I ever spent. putt the ball with eyes closed and try to guess where it went. In one round, was wrong by a foot, cuz I heard this *plop* from 20 feet. Then chip from off the green. 2 inches from the hole.. I had had lessons galore.. but shot to about an 20 h.c After 2 months with that book, had best an 82 (Fallbrook Ca) then broke 80 3 months later. Practiced 3 hours a day( 5 month hiatus from working .. end of the following year.. playing to a five H/C I started dong mental drills too. Not even near a club, that helped. Thanks and may God bless your efforts.

I read his book twenty years ago, I gave it try his way several times on my tennis, but I didn't practice it. I have practiced it since two weeks ago.

It's Buddhism or Taoism. It's the Ontollogy that arises from meditation. It's called Beginners Mind in Zen.

I'm just rereading the Inner Game books having first come across them in the early 90s. It's interesting that Gallwey makes almost no religious/spiritual associations to where he got this Self 1 / Self 2 stuff.
Having read Michael Singer's The Untethered Soul and The Surrender Journey books in recent years, which describes meditation / quieting the mind journey in the early 70s, it's clear that's Gallwey did so too. Gallwey is from San Francisco and that was big for the hippies and all the Zen meditation stuff at that time.

S1 sounds like my wife. I don't need Inner Game or the Encyclopaedia Britannica because she know 'everything'.
