Thank you kindly for taking the time to film and post this tutorial. I've got my wife's cc fog lamp to replace tomorrow. really appreciate the heads up! 👍👍
Mr. Watkins, i actually just finished changing my lights to the new led ones and its all thanks to your video. thank you for posting it, looking forward to new videos!
Thanks J Watkins. I used your wheel well method to investigate why my fog lamp was not working on my 17 Passat and it was chewed wires by a RODENT! . I will now have to pop off the lamp assembly and fix the wire.
I finally was able to change my fog light bulbs on my 2013 cc because of your video. I tried following the owner's manual instructions but they don't mention a pry bar. They refer to a tab that was 1) hard to find and 2) I couldn't get it to release. Thank you. BTW- I like your method better.
on my wife's 2013 Beetle using methods #2 it is very difficult to get the build back in. Setting it so the tabs are in the socket there is some metal in the way. Worth looking at doing it this way but I would suggest looking for any interference before removing the bulb. I actually broke a small part of the housing off the bulb and it went right in, should not be an issue since it is sealed by the shroud on the wiring connector.
Hi Buddy . Just wondering what’s the best way to access the screen wash pump that’s now leaking . Should I go in through the fog light or take the wheel arch off ?????? Thanks
I have not had to replace washer pumps or seals. Personally I would try removing wheel well liner first but if I remember correctly the pumps are on the front of the washer reservoir. I have another video on replacing headlight washer which might be an option for you. Best of luck with the repair. I just reviewed my other video on headlight washer; it appears the pumps are inboard so headlight removal might be the easiest option. Or even the belly pan removal might give you access to the pumps, start there.
I have not tried a headlight restoration kit maybe look into that. I have used 3M clear bra on them which does fill in some of the small rock chips which can help with clarity. Best of luck.
My cc has round fog lamps and I cant seem to find that T25 screw anywhere. It only has one small screw hole but can't locate the screw inside. Is it possible that my R Line model only has clips? 2013 VW CC R Line
Matthew The R-line fogs it's all one piece, see here: www.google.com/amp/s/forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php%3F5939974-2013-R-line-fogs..whose-replaced-them-already%26amp%3D1
Is it really have to take out fog light assembly when we replace the bulb only? I thought open a part of wheel house and unercover can make it. Because I did it many times when I work at the shop. Might be German cars are more complicated..
This is incorrect for 2017 Passat. You don't need to remove the housing to replace the bulb. Remove the 3 screws near the front wheels to access the back of the light and replace the bulb.
Yeah as shown in the video as method two, not sure if the B8 Passat passenger side can be changed in this method or if the washer fluid reservoir is in the way. On the CC's, which are not built on the MQB platform like the American made Passats, this method doesn't work on the passenger side via the wheel well liner from what I remember.
Thanks for the info, I havent had to explore the right side fog from the inside the wheel yet, I have only done it by removing the grille cover, good to know thanks.
Hi ive literally just replaced my fog light bulbs for some sexy new lunex plasma gold my wife got me for xmas the washer reservoir does black access on the drivers side. This is on my 2014 cc passenger side was easy using the inside arch method. Just go very easy and take your time on the uk drivers side I used the same orange tools worked perfectly 👍🏻👍🏻
Alejandro Bustamante An H11 will fit in the socket as I have used H11 led bulbs in the fogs, I wouldn't go higher than OEM wattage however, if using led you will get bulb out idiot light on your cluster unless you disable cold bulb diag via vagcom or use resistors
H11 vs H8 when it comes to LED won't determine if bulb out light comes on it has to do with the resistance on the circuit so you will need to use the resistors inline which most aftermarket LEDs comes with,. You can try them without the resistors but chances are the bulb will flicker for a few seconds then the bcm will disable that circuit until a restart because it is sensing a issue with the bulb/circuit hope this helps
Alejandro Bustamante Sure I can offer some advice but in the end it's all under your own risk, you can find my email address under the about section on my channel

Alejandro Bustamante glad to hear it helped you with your project.
Just did method 2 on my Passat B8, worked perfectly. Driver side was a bit harder but manageable. Great guide, thank you!

How do I clean inside of the fog light lens?

@@jtblazeltw hey , thanks for the quick and very helpful reply . I will check out your video now . Thanks a lot
Do you know of a way to clean those lights like restored them

thank you so much
Why don't you turn the wheel towards right and move the wheel housing?
The wheel is turned all the way to the right.

Might be German cars are more complicated..
The procedure shown here is exactly the same as required for the EU Passat 362/B7 and Passat CC.

But what if you want to clean the inside of the fog light lens?
METHOD 2 DOES NOT WORK FOR RIGHT SIDE FOG LIGHT
FLUID RESERVOIR BLOCKS ACCESS COMPLETELY
WORKS ONLY FOR LEFT SIDE apparently.

Too much work. Just go where the tire is and unscrew some of the cover panel, and there it is.
