I have one of those hand-cranked machines. You've given me new confidence in it.

Thanks Lars! We try to avoid the loud gimmicky tutorials and share substance. With a name like Lars, you must be from Norway?

Hi, Mr. Anderson. What grit range on the Norton Blue Zerconia do you use in your sharpening? (My son and I took one of your courses at the Wood & Shop center a few years ago, and we hope to do so again.(

I didn't understand how he chose the relief angle on the sides of the skewed blade. He said he checked the relief angle by loading the iron into the plane, but didn't say what to look for that would indicate he needed a steeper or shallower angle on the sides. Did anyone understand that part and can explain it? Maybe it is in the full DVD, which I'd be happy to buy, but not unless I knew this detail was there. The rest of the presentation was excellent.

Good video, but the grinding noises are terribly loud.
-I'll need to download this video and lower the audio on the grinder.
Hint: You can do this using Audacity when before you upload your video.
