Thank you for giving a voice to my pain. How many times I show vulnerability only to not be respected, most of the time, used to hurt me more. Now I don't want to interact with human anymore.
That was great, because Neufeld in other videos had spoken as if this were a new phenomenon and I was thinking, I'm 71 and I went through the same crap and everyone disparaged us if we had feelings, if we valued feelings, etc. It was the first thing my parents complained about when I was born, that I had feelings on face, and after I had worked in the field of psychology for decades, I heard the same disparagement as Mate describes.
Thank you so much! I only wish you could post the entire video of this conversation along with their most recent presentations! These two are heroic in their efforts to help parents and children.
My child is turning 3 soon and never let her sleep by herself alone in her room, she sleeps every single night in my arms and beside me . I never could let her cry at night and felt as a mother guilty to do so. Moreover, I always questioned how as a couple ; adults; must sleep together and can le2ve an innocent soul in a room by her own, I’m glad I did and still doing the co-sleeping
We need to smash whatever aspects of our power structure that are responsible for messing with human psychology and creating this consumer culture. I have a feeling we'd put a good dent in the problem of greed in the process.
You're going to be dissapointed if you things that over-arching power structures are the only contributors responsible for human suffering and trauma. Changing society wont heal your woundings.
@@MrSofuskroghlarsen There's no coherence in your comment.. Where did I imply the power structures are the only contributing factor to human suffering, and where did I imply that I wanted society to change to heal my wounds?
@@robertdabob8939 Oh, I'm sorry - I was too quick to judge your comment carelessly. I'm in agreement with your views on consumer culture, though I'm more inclined to think that it is a symptom of an underlying structure in us that cannot be changed collectively, but is something that has to be dealt with individually
@@MrSofuskroghlarsen Totally agree with that, well said. That's pretty well what I was getting at with the comment about messing with human psychology. We have a strong instinctual, tribalistic tendency toward group identification, and that makes us susceptible to manipulation via mass marketing. The only solution to that, as has been illustrated so well in the work of Carl Jung and others, is to develop the individual to properly think for themselves, both intellectually and emotionally.
I suggest parents purchase a used or if they can afford it new *cosleeper*. It allows the child to be adjacent to the bed or for the less expensive ones it allows the child to be centered in the bed in a way that is physically safe and emotionally ESSENTIAL (ie WITH THE CAREGIVER) according to research studies as well as my own experience. When the child moans for milk there is no crying necessary. The breast-feeding mother provides milk. As nature allows. Instantaneous comfort and nutrition. A hug. The bottle feeding mother picks up the baby for a hug and her partner prepares the formula.
By putting an overwhelming majority of black men in prison FOR NONVIOLENT OFFENSES we have taken away from the black child the ability to be mirrored by male family . It is a national disgrace and is having profound consequences :(
Are you invited to exist in your environment.. are your vulnerabilities protected.. lack of compassion is a repressed hurt.. if you don’t pick up the drying child.. Culture doing this.. Dr Spock tyranny of the baby.. message to baby: a world that doesn’t care…
