PWR! Moves Class - Exercise for people with Parkinson's disease

  • This is a class for people with Parkinson's disease!
    This is our first full PWR! Moves class video! Right around an hour like a normal class!
    Make sure you have a good sturdy chair (without arms if possible), a yoga mat, towel and water bottle close by!
    This PWR! Moves session focuses on exercises that enhance strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination-all crucial elements in a Parkinson's exercise program. The workout includes seated exercises, standing balance work, and floor movements aimed at improving overall mobility.

    Retired PT with Parkinson’s here. What a great complete program for anyone, not just Parkinson’s patients. It’s a little fast for me but I can pause it until I can catchup.

      Thank you so much! Agree, these classes feel so good to me, and we have quite a few people who exercise with us and don't have PD who love PWR! Moves as well :)

    I like seeing the moves in the mirror to the left side of the screen. Around minute 35 I couldn't tell quite what the instructor was doing, looking just from the front. Watching her in the mirror made it clear. This is a great class! Thanks very much for posting!

    Hey Claire, awesome video! My name is Dave. My father in law, Tony and I, met you back in 2017 at the PWR! Retreat. He danced the night away on the last night!     Any concern that dropping the head down and up will cause dizziness, especially for those with blood pressure issues? Orthostatic hypotension?

      Hi Sissy! Certainly, there are some people who could experience dizziness. We know that these classes are not right for everyone. We hope that people will try classes and modify if needed for them. We have lots of members in person and online who are able to do these exercises without any dizziness. we want to make sure to challenge people the right amount! Under-challenging people isn't helpful to them either!
