The "main bulb" actually is the DRL. The J-LED's are actually the parking lights. They are programmed to only switch on when the parking lights, low beams, or high beams are active.
I just picked up a 2023 XSE HB from japan. I am in the USA market and to adjust headlights, n DRL n fog lights are all through the left side switch on steering wheel.
Helpful video, thanks! As a young kid, I got to visit the GM pavilion of the NY World's Fair 1964-65. They had models of what cars would like over the next 60 years and I remember thinking ...wow, they look like sports cars! ... as indeed they really do in the 2020s.
This must all depend on the trim...because I have a 2020 Corolla LE and those strips don't light up at all, I even used your instructions. I have little orange (or amber) lights up front that light up.
Great idea, thank you! I think that the triple-Js are gorgeous and should have been the default DRLs. I do not ever drive with DRLs off as there is no engine noise all the time and there is no proximity warning sound on my 2022 hybrid.
Mine is a hybrid sedan , does not have that option in the multimedia, and it does turn on the DRL (two J's) when the ignition is on, the button is in Auto position and the parking brake pedal is released. They look brighter during the day.
Thank I have had both always on because I LOVE THE DRL so much and I just can’t have them off the car looks so ugly but thanks you for this video I’ve bought my car three years ago and just realizing this is posisble
Some how my 2020 Corolla drl is on but light 💡 is not on even when I go into setting turn on light 💡 is still off. But when put it in autolight n drive the car for some mins the drl light turn on????
Yeah, I wonder why Toyota makes so many variants, they have different headlights by trim levels, plus different in Canada/mexico also. I guess if you have money burning in your pocket you can upgrade them at the dealer. But I would say, if it works, then no point in replacing them.
Average 50 - 58mpg combined. Under perfect conditions the best I got was 64mpg. The worst I got was 47mpg driving in blizzard with strong headwind. Overall really fuel efficient!
I have a 22 Corolla LE and can't even seem to get the strip to go on. I tried turning it off then on, i tried the knob switch turned it to drl and still nothing....does this feat even come for this model? Jw thnx
My friend, my car is a 2019 Corolla SE, imported from Canada, and I want to disconnect the headlight from the headlight. Is there a way to do it? Help me
@@sanchaikofficial oh no it was a good video man, it’s just I’ve see other cars with their accent lights on, and they’re brighter than the Corolla’s for some reason, whether it’s Dodge, Lexus, or even Ford, I don’t know if it’s the sensitivity level, or Toyota just didn’t put bright enough LED strip lights lol
You are basically just running around with your front/back parking lights on. The LED J strips up-front aren't actual DRL & aren't even bright enough during the day to even be a good substitute for the actual DRL of this vehicle (which is integrated into the main projector headlight, sadly).
what if you want to use the bulbs? youll have to turn them on again right? or can you turn them on with the last option as you showed with the headlights switch?

It looks really good. Like really, really good. Just wanted to mention this also applies for the 2019 hatchback. (Current daily and love it.)
Wow I agree thanks for the info going to do just that always questioned why the main headlamp is the DRL now I can fix that.
6 m and this is the first time I now this😍 future in my car 😁😁😁 thanks bro
You're Welcome
I noticed my 2021 corolla never has the j leds on? Even with following these steps it'd only the orange lights?
I need to aim the main low beams on mine. Previous owner aimed them down too low, especially on passenger side.
This must all depend on the trim...because I have a 2020 Corolla LE and those strips don't light up at all, I even used your instructions. I have little orange (or amber) lights up front that light up.
That is because Corolla LE 2020 does not have those LED strips.
@@notyizeckkerrdev6245 I figured that out after looking up the differences between an LE and an SE.
Can you put this on Corolla LE

Wow. I’ve been looking for this lol so simple. Thanks

such a soothing video, helpful too
chilled me out.

20/10 👌🏽
is that stock J J headlights? in canada i think u need that main DRL bulb to always on, u can't turn it off
Yes this is stock
awesome video and to the point, thank you!
Does this work for Corolla hatchbacks as well cuz the 3 L's don't light up but the bulb does.
Probably depends on your model.

With the 2025 model, I wish the amber light is the DRL but it's the turn signal by default.

whats mpg on that hybrid. my 21 corolla se 2.0 getting 44mpg on highway

The features could depend on your variant. I have the hybrid model.
Did you figure out if you can turn them on I’m having the same issue
@@Chris-pd3ik i think this feature is for the SE only. I gave up looking lol sorry :/

Not sure how to disassemble your model headlight, but there are tons of info online. Best of luck.
@@sanchaikofficial I did not find how to separate the front lights that are imported from Canada
Please help!!
good video but I have the LE version and it doesn't work, is there any trick or suggestion
Nice trick, also great wheels! Do they keep the fuel efficiency?
Thanks, didn't see any difference in fuel efficiency.
If you turn on the parking light feature and turn the drl, then the taillights will be illuminated
Correct, but depending on which model and you have. I have seen mixed settings on different models, and years, and country where car was assembled.
Is that only for the hybrid? I have the le non hybrid 2023 and I don't see that led strip lights.
They change on 2023 I think. 2023 have only 1 strip now. Not sure
Would be nice if the accent lights were brighter during the day
Agreed, that is why I filmed in the early morning otherwise they do seem dim.

Yeah they look really nice and bright!
mine doesn’t do this? no matter what, those J Leds never turn on. I have a 2023 model
They must have made some changes to the new models. A lot of people are saying that they don't have the same options.
Jordan mine is a 2023 and in my car settings these options to turn off drl is there but i have the se trim. Hope that helps
Doesn't work with 21 LE hybrid canada.
Nice, now you can drive around at dusk with your headlights off because you forgot to turn them on.
Hmm, I wonder if this works in the gr
im so pissed i dont have this on my 2020 canada spec corolla :(
Yeah a lot of people are mad because they make so many different headlights for each trim level also

what if you want to use the bulbs? youll have to turn them on again right? or can you turn them on with the last option as you showed with the headlights switch?
This only applies to when you switch to parking light mode, when you turn on the headlights or have it in Auto mode all the bulbs turn on regardless
My corolla doesn't have the settings-vehicle enabled. What should I do? How can I enable it?
That is strange, possibly check your owners manual. Everything came enabled for me. Maybe it could be model specific.
How do u turn them completely off. I don't want them running at all, only when i Wana turn them on at night
just have it on off
Or does it tell you to turn off the light drl when engine off?
I have the US versions and it turns off automatically after you turn off the car and lock it.
How do you dim the screen light? Great video!
There is a small wheel over your left leg. Where auto mode for your lights is
Does ur drl turn off when u turn off ur car?
It turns off when I lock the car
THANK YOU
Is this possible on the 2023 model?
I don’t want my taillights on until it’s dark
dosent work on my corolla 🥺
Oh man my car don't have that L L head light and my car customization screen don't have that option. Boo. But great feature thanks
Mine doesn't do that
that is not DRLs that is just your marker or accent lights on no DRLs
This setting keeps the back lights on. I wish it was another way
Yes, I agree, would like to be able to have them on without the backlights as well.
Do not have the menu options you showed... Or the DRl off switch on the handle. Wierd
Try turn on your ignition then go to menu while ignition on
dat ugly front black grill of the corollas reminds me of hammerhead shark or some type of fish mouth lolz , its not 'aggressive' enough imo
I guess it being an LE trim level, they didn't want it to look aggressive
usa corolla is very bad
I have noticed that other countries have different engine and body types.
Such an ugly vehicle.
